Broadband on the go or at home (O2 Mobile Broadband)
Advantages: Internet without a phone line
Disadvantages: Slow, Unreliable, low data allowance
...Due to BT?s stupid policy of not allowing Broadband through their Pay & Call line (even when there?s plenty of credit) the only way I could connect to the internet was to go down the mobile internet route. As a mobile internet connection is only as good as the mobile network signal I was left with the choice of either O2 or O2 and as I didn?t want to be tied into a contract I decided to go down the Pay As You Go route. Therefore this review is going to focus on my experience of using O2 Pay As You Go Mobile Internet.
To access the mobile internet I firstly needed to purchase a dongle, which cost a fairly reasonable £24.99 but did not come with a data allowance. Installation of the dongle was a fairly painless procedure, and once it was installed, Internet Explorer (yuck) opened and directed me to the O2 Mobile Broadband site where I...

Mobile phone network- o2
Advantages: good customer service, good reception, good pre pay deals
Disadvantages: customer services not 24 hours
...INTRODUCTION
o2 is the now the biggest mobile phone network in the UK in terms of customers. It has recently over took Vodaphone to become the biggest network. o2 comes from BT originanly, back in November 2001 o2 demerged from BT and what was called BT Cellnet pre November 2001 became o2. Few facts about o2: o2 has 15.1 million customers, at the end of September 2005 turnover was £3.6 billion, an increase of 12% from the previous year. o2 PLC is made up of 4 companies which are o2 UK ,o2 Ireland, o2 Germany and Manx Telecom.
SERVICES o2 OFFERS
o2 like all over UK mobile phone networks offer pay and go tarriffs and pay monthly (contract) tarriffs. With a pay and go tarriff you will have to purchase a o2 phone and then you will need to top up each time you want to use your phone. You can top up with o2 by many ways such as...

WOW £63 free credit from O2!!!!
Advantages: great rates and offers, good network coverage, good customer service online
Disadvantages: costly when used abroad
...I have used O2 as my phone network provider for over eight years now (dating right back from when they were initially BT Cellnet!). My loyalty to O2 is strong as a result of having had such a positive experience with them for so many years. Therefore, I feel that it is time that I shared my experiences with all of you!
When I was thirteen I received my first ever mobile phone for Christmas. It was a BT Cellnet model and therefore the simcard was also BT Cellnet. I had a good few years use out of this phone and was happy with the BT Cellnet deal so stuck with them. They eventually changed the name of the company to O2 when they merged with Genie.
Pay as you go
Being young, I initially had pay as you go simcards with O2 and found them to offer some better deals than other networks at the time. I obtained an O2 Genie Sim...

O2 - A great network!
Advantages: numerous call plans, broadband, mobile e.t.c
Disadvantages: NA
...O2 is a UK mobile telephone operator, which is part of Telefónica Europe.
I have recently rejoined O2, as most of my friends are on the network, and I would therefore benefit more.
How to join O2
Joining O2 is really easy. You can either become a Pay Monthly, or Pay as you go customer. You can ordered a sim card, from their website, should you wish to go pay as you go, using your existing mobile. Full details of current Pay Monthly plans, are available on their website also.

Network Coverage
I have always found the O2 network coverage to be fantastic. I have never experienced a lack of signal, in the area that I live. Therefore, the O2 service, in my opinion is very reliable, as I always have an active signal, that is able to allow me to make calls and texts

O2 pay as you go offers!
Advantages: Lots of offers.
Disadvantages: no more than any other network
...I have had pre pay mobiles for the last seven years. Mainly because I know how much I'm spending, and when it's gone I can't get into debt with it???? Lord knows what I would be like with a contract!
I have been on many different networks, including Orange, T-Mobile and Virgin. And thus far I have found 02 to be the best network.
Here are my reasons why -
O2 offer reasonable tariffs, and have lots of offers.
You can take advantage of every offer which does not cancel out any of the previous offers you already have on your account.
The offers they have and the information on how to get them a printed further on in this review.
O2's signal have always been very good where ever I have been, I have even used it in Spain without a problem. But obviously there are some place's that other networks do have a better signal...

Tesco mobile network - in fact O2 coverage
Advantages: O2 coverage (best in the UK), free credits, easy top up, unlatch possible
Disadvantages: high call charges (expected with PAYG phone)
.../picture messages to mobiles. They can be used for mobile internet browsing too. However there are some restrictions - no international numbers, no premium rate numbers, no 08... numbers and you can't use it outside this country.
The third good thing is the flexibility of top-up: online, in Tesco, by phone and ATM cash machines with the Tesco mobile top-up logo. Furthermore, you can set up you 5 favourite phone numbers (including landline) to have half-price call charges.
The high call charges are expected for PAYG phones anyway. If you want low charges, the ASDA mobile network is very cheap however its Vodafone coverage may not be as good, at least in Oxfordshire.
The fourth good thing is the coverage. O2 coverage is still second to none. Instead of buying the same phone under 'O2' network, you pay less (~£10) for it to be under 'Tesco' [O2...

My O2 nightmare
Advantages: cheap tarrifs
Disadvantages: where shall i start?
...and the replies the send are irrelevant to the problem.
If you are looking for a cheap deal on a mobile phone then O2 looks like a very good choice, however be prepared to pay the price when you want some help from them!...

Breathe O2 into your phone!
Advantages: EDGE, MMS included in price, free voicemail, great customer service, reception, and value for money
Disadvantages: Not too clear that you could get 1000 texts, quite hefty charge for 0800 no's
...3G, like mine, but are capable of faster speeds and the newer technology. As far as I know, no mobile networks except O2 support the EDGE technology in the UK (which I think is down to the iPhone!), but there are plenty of new and popular phones from Samsung, Nokia and Sony Ericsson that support it.
Shortly after I turned my phone on with the new SIM card I received a helpful call from O2 and I managed to get my number copied accross using the PAC code (which took about a week to activate, but was a painless process). I also learned that sending MMS (picture or video messages) were included in the monthly allowance- 1 MMS uses 4 of your inclusive texts. O2 are the only operator which do this as far as I know- all others charge extra. To me this is a major advantage. Voicemail is also free- some operators charge for it.
I tried out...

O2 Cocoon
Advantages: The eye catching design and the amazing LCD display
Disadvantages: If this phone had more then a 2mp camera, it would knock sony ericcson for six!
...change volume, start playing another tune or just pause, your command is scrolled on the LED display. If you're looking for a phone that also doubles as a music player, the O2 Cocoon is a very good choice. This phone can hold approximately 1000 tracks, supporting AAC, AAC+, WMA, MP3 and WAV without having to use the memory card. A 2GB internal memory?! That's impressive!
You can still listen to the music whilst your on a call if you using your earphones! It plays in the background and does not interfere with your call and the sound is crisp. I think it's a first for mobile phones and its my favourite feature (=>)
This phone offers an FM Radio RDS for those who haven't got music on your phone or like a variety. Your headphones can act as you Ariel when you're on the move.
The Music player also offers room for;
Album Art

O2 and the curse of the phantom menace
Advantages: All unless you cancel
Disadvantages: Trying to cancel a new contract
...Having done the rounds of some of the other Mobile providers I realised that the deal I was getting with Orange wasn't so good.
Looking over the various contracts and deals it was clear that O2 online deals were some of the best to be had.
So early last month I cancelled my Orange contract and the both the wife and I set about finding an O2 mobile deal via the website.
www.o2.co.uk as a site is very good. Whilst its not the best I've seen its laid out quite well but could have done with some extra information here and there when you are trying to buy a phone and contract.
We decided upon a couple of Sony Ericsson phones connected to O2's Anytime online tariff. When you get this online you get 400 free minutes instead of the 200 available on the high street. Brilliant, or so we thought, that's where the nightmare began.
We...
