I started this contract in December 04 when my old o2 contract finished. I wanted the new XDA II and o2 online is by far the cheapest place to buy it. On this contract the phone only cost me £99 compared with well over £200 everywhere else that I looked... and I did some shopping around.
Before this contract I was on an o2 contract with the CarphoneWarehouse division of O2 on a similar contract costing about £19 per...

WOW £63 free credit from O2!!!!
Advantages: great rates and offers, good network coverage, good customer service online
Disadvantages: costly when used abroad
...filled in a online query. Someone emailed me back within 24 hours and they very promptly transferred my old number over to my new simcard. They were very efficient and the process was hassle free.
Getting a Contract
Eventually I decided that it would be more beneficial for me to be on a contract. I went back onto the O2 website and looked at the various options available. There were some good competitive packages and I eventually decided on the Online 20 Simplicity tariff. This is a sim only deal which was ideal as I already had a phone I wanted to use. This contract was for £20 per month and gave me 600 minutes and 1000 text messages. I could browse the internet for up to £1 per day free and had unlimited free calls to other O2 phones. This contract was great and I stayed with it for about five months but I soon realised that I...

O-No: my O2 online horror.
Advantages: Lots of free Text Messages
Disadvantages: Outrageous Customer Careline charges for online customers
...I connected to O2 in May last year, induced by the online offer of 500 free texts a month. As a self-confessed text-a-holic that was music to my ears, so I chose a £25 per month tariff and a free Sony Ericsson T300 from your website.
The tariff is only available online (www.o2.co.uk) and ?aint a bad deal all round. It includes 500 free off peak minutes to any network, 500 free texts (up to 125 of which can even be media messages), 500 free wap minutes & 0.5 gprs mb downloads. After you?ve used up your allowances, the charges are pretty standard: 30p peak & 2p off peak to o2 & landlines, 45p peak & 30p off peak cross net, 10p for text messages & 35p for media messages. One downside for me was that you don?t get a paper bill, these are available online for you to view and print out, which is fine when the system is up and running...

pay as you go - O2 online
Advantages: 300 free texts and WAP minutes a month
Disadvantages: 1st three minutes per day 25p a minute, only available Online
...Over the last few months I've tended to send an increasing number of text messages through the day. I wanted to buy a PAY AS YOU GO sim card that gave me a large number of free texts. I used this card in my old phone.
I choose O2 online because of the large number of free texts (300). You need to top up with £10.00 each month to enable you to have these free texts. If you top up during the month you receive a text message a few days before your monthly date to tell you that you will receive another 300 texts from that date.
As well as that I can use the £10.00 that I top up with each month to make calls. Call cost aren't too bad with the 1st three minutes of calls every day being charged at 25p a minute and then 5p a minute to 02 or landlines after that (off peak). On the weekend this decreases to 2p a minute.
Topping up...

O2 - A great network!
Advantages: numerous call plans, broadband, mobile e.t.c

...want to enter into a contract.

With O2 pay monthly, there are many different packages available. If you have a mobile already, and do not want to enter a contract in which you need a new mobile, the simplicity sim card is available.
Being a Pay Monthly customer, allows you to benefit from discounted broadband from O2, as well as manage your account online.
I cannot comment further on Pay Monthly, as I have no experienced the service first hand.
Do check out the o2 website for full information of the pay monthly plans: www.o2.co.uk

My O2 nightmare
Advantages: cheap tarrifs
Disadvantages: where shall i start?
...I first heard of O2 about a year ago when i got a phonecall offering me a great sounding deal on a 12 month contract with a free handset. I had just come to the end of my existing contract and was looking for a new one anyway so i thought i'd give it a go. I signed up with O2 online and I was promised a nokia 3510i, 500 off peak landline minutes, 500 text messages 500 wap minutes and 50 cross network minutes for £20 a month. They had several other options with different freebies but this one seemed the best choice for me.
Getting started
The phone and sim arrived in the post as expected and I was ready to start using the service. The coverage was good and I always had reception. I used the wap service with no problems. I was in fact very pleased with O2 as a network. The only thing I disliked about them was that it was very...

O2 Online Tarrifs Review
Advantages: Great price, lots of inclusive minutes + texts.
Disadvantages: Customer Service can be hard to contact.
...I've been using an O2 Pay Monthly Online Tarrif now for about 5 months. Before this I was connected to a conventional O2 pay monthly tarrif.
++ What are they ?
The O2 Online Tarrifs are a set of tarrifs (probably most suitable for personal users) that are only available online. Everything is done via their website, from ordering to viewing bills to customer service.
Because it's all online the tarrifs are very cheap. It is also possible to buy all the Online Tarrifs without a handset, making each one £5 a month cheaper - a good way to save money if you have a phone you want to keep.
++ My Experience
The ordering process - from the online placement of the order to the SIM card arriving - took about 7 days. It was fairly simple. I actually transferred my existing phone number (despite being told by a friend...

O2 Cocoon
Advantages: The eye catching design and the amazing LCD display
Disadvantages: If this phone had more then a 2mp camera, it would knock sony ericcson for six!
.... For full help, the User manual on the CD is more beneficial. Not consumer friendly for someone who does not have a computer (=<)
Where can you get this phone?
You can purchase this phone from any O2 store or from O2 Online. No other shop sells this phone. The O2 Cocoon is free on all O2 contracts. If you wanted to buy the phone as Handset only or Pay As You Go, it will set you back a cool £299.00. The phone can only be purchased in the colour white. But is it worth it? Is it better then the Apple iPhone? Lets find out?.

What does this phone have to offer?
Well. Lets start with the screen. There are two in total, An Internal screen and an external screen. Ill start with the external...

O2 pay as you go offers!
Advantages: Lots of offers.
Disadvantages: no more than any other network
...I have had pre pay mobiles for the last seven years. Mainly because I know how much I'm spending, and when it's gone I can't get into debt with it???? Lord knows what I would be like with a contract!
I have been on many different networks, including Orange, T-Mobile and Virgin. And thus far I have found 02 to be the best network.
Here are my reasons why -
O2 offer reasonable tariffs, and have lots of offers.
You can take advantage of every offer which does not cancel out any of the previous offers you already have on your account.
The offers they have and the information on how to get them a printed further on in this review.
O2's signal have always been very good where ever I have been, I have even used it in Spain without a problem. But obviously there are some place's that other networks do have a better signal...

Communicating couldn't be easier! (O2)
Advantages: Excellent network coverage, quick Broadband speeds
Disadvantages: Handset deals not always as competitive
...Orange or one of the other top brands. At the time I was living in Bath which was a bit notorious for poor signal in the centre of town with Orange and Vodafone (I had friends who experienced this on these networks). Before purchasing, the staff in the O2 shop were happy to check not only the signal strength there in town, but also the strength at my family's home in the South East, as I would be there for up to a month at a time on holidays.
One point I have noticed is that they don't always do as competitive handset prices as the other main players. I have recently upgraded my handset to a Sony Ericsson W910i (which I have written a review on) and decided to use the online O2 shop, as other companies such as the Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U could not give a decent enough deal. I must admit that the whole process was just as simple...
