O2 XDA Trion
Review of O2 XDA Trion by
alegresley
Advantages: Reliable, 3G and Wireless with office package and outlook sync
Disadvantages: Thirsty processor reduces battery life to about 2 days.
...Where do I start? I bought the trion as an upgrade to replace my O2 XDA Mini S. Let me begin by describing the cons of the device:
1) At 2.0 Megapixels the camera is woefully inadequate
2) Whilst Running Windows Mobile 6.0, I am still unable to view online video, like BBC news broadcasts or youtube
3) With all functions running (bluetooth wireless etc) the battery lasts about 48hrs maximum.
4) I have noticed the occasional 'slowdown' as a result of running several programmes at once.
5) The on/standyby button seems to have a mind of its own as to how long you need to hold it down before the screen lights up.
But enough of all this negativity. In comparison to my mini s it is very much the next generation. For starters it features a 400MHz processor and I am old enough to remember high spec laptops having a similar speed...

O2 XDA II (UPDATED! Please re-rate!)
Review of O2 XDA 2 by
bagoproverbial
Advantages: Look and feel, features
Disadvantages: Slightly bulky
...This is an expanded version of an old, old review of my O2 XDA II Pocket PC, which I remain very happy with.
OVERVIEW:
I was given one of these by my director and have found it very useful so far. At first it felt quite cumbersome because of the bulkiness, but after a while I just didn't notice that anymore. It looks very attractive and the operating system is both familiar and intuitive. What I would say is, don't get it if you're just after a 'phone- it is expensive for such a basic requirement. But the other features, such as email, Office applications etc. make it more than worthwhile if you intend to use the more advanced aspects. Besides, I don't pay for the texts or the phone calls, which is another reason why I'm happy with it.
TEXTING:
One thing I would also add is that this has been a godsend for me when it comes...

O2 xda
Review of O2 XDA by
gpk115
Advantages: Good screen
Disadvantages: pricy although can be bought second hand for cheaper
...The xda comes in a box that can comfortably fit a small pair of boots. However, the actual device is a more reasonable 13cm long and 7.3cm wide, with most of the box taken up by accessories.
Accessories include a charger, which also provides USB PC connectivity, a leather pouch and belt clip, spare stylus, earphones, a couple of manuals and a CD containing Active Sync.
For the technically minded, the xda includes an Intel StrongARM 32-bit processor at 206 MHz, which puts it at the lower end of Pocket PC PDAs.
The touch-screen of the xda runs at a relatively standard 240 x 320 resolution, with 4,096 colours. Most of the buttons are found on the screen, for instance when dialling you press a screen-displayed keypad. The stylus is stored in the aerial.
Above the screen are two hotkeys to "contacts" and "calendar", although...

O2's XDA II
Review of O2 xda by
NeilsCiao
Advantages: Phone, e-mail, sms, internet capable Pocket PC
Disadvantages: Needs reloading completely when it loses its charge
...Firstly I love this pocket PC. It's supplied by work so it has all of the bells and whistles and I don't have to pay a thing (a definate bonus). That said I don't know what anything costs for it.
The main disadvantage is that the battery only lasts three days if you don't use it. Admittedly you can turn flight mode on to lengthen the battery time (you can't actually turn the XDA off) but that means that you lose the messaging, e-mail and phone facilities until you turn flight mode off. If the main battery gets down to 15% (I think) then it stops you being able to turn the screen on (the main battery drain) and if the main battery goes down to 0% you've got about half-an-hour to get it on charge before everything gets wiped. This means that it has to be resyncronized with your computer and all of the software and files reloaded...

Is the XDA the best gadget?
Review of O2 xda by
ste231191
Advantages: Slim, cool nice
Disadvantages: Connecting to internet
...Some of like gadgets and I for one, love gadgets, when I first saw the O2 XDA I thought that there was no other gadget in the world that could beat it, at the time I wanted a PDA and a mobile phone but I had to choose one of them I took my time thinking about this and then I came across the XDA which was perfect for me but it was a little bit pricy, at first when it came out it cost £800 which is very very expensive.
Is the XDA worth all of that money? If so what is so special about it?
Well whether you're a business man or a kid who likes showing off his gadgets the XDA suits all with its wide range of features it supports. The XDA has special features even though it's a pocket pc it is a mobile phone (people may say you have a brick) it supports the features of a mobile phone: you can call (obviously) you can send and receive...

O2 XDA Mini S Has Everything.
Review of XDA Mini S, PDA/Mobile Phone by
antdamm
Advantages: It's more than a desktop computer, in a package the size of a mobile phone.
Disadvantages: Not much onboard memory, but can easily be fixed with an SD card.
...The O2 XDA mini S is the all in one PocketPC, there is nothing this does not have:
-Mobile Phone, with all the features of a mobile, SMS, MMS, GPRS
-Internet (HTML, not WAP!) can connect using WiFi, GPRS, Bluetooth or Dial-Up GSM, so you are guarenteed to be able to get online
-Wireless LAN, connect at work or in WiFi Hotspots like cafes, airports or work with broadband speeds.
-Full QWERTY keyboard that makes typing SMS messages to full MS word documents as easy as on a PC.
-Camera, with 'Flash' I feel this is the downpoint of this phone, but it is the same with all PDAs the cameras are near useless, do not buy it for the camera as it only works in daylight conditions.
- MS Windows Mobile 5.0, install and delete programs at will, with so many programs availible for free and at very small prices availible online there is a program...

o2 services select customer member disconnection
Review of O2 by
narindar_rull
Advantages: taking my money
Disadvantages: under trained staff
..., however had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned "o2 select customer discount". Being Christmas and in a rush I was not prepared to argue about a couple of quid.
Rather recently I took out a third account with o2 and got a great deal on an o2 XDA 2. I called my O2 Select Special customer service number and asked a very simple question:-
May I use my select customer discount to get my blue tooth headset?
lovely lady on the phone replied "yes!"
Armed with my account details, I entered my o2 store in Maidenhead, said to the nice assistant "I'll have one of those swanky looking bluetooth headsets".
At the counter I informed the assistant of my claim to discount of 25% to which I was given a look as if I was on fire. He said he had no idea what I was talking and that there is no discount available. Being rather free...

Going into orbit with O2
Review of O2 Xda Orbit by
JeffFromPoole
Advantages: Small, light, reliable
Disadvantages: Small, light, slow
...This phone was recently issued to me by my employer as a replacement for the XDA2i, which had proved to be unreliable.
I will divide this review into two parts, my initial impression of the phone and my experience of using it in the field.
Our usage of PDA phones is how we get our calls in the field. I work as a field support engineer and when a call arrives for me it is displayed on the screen in an application called antenna, which we install on our phones.
The first thing you will notice about this phone is the deviously clever design of the box! it took some of our guys ten minutes to get it open and find all the accessories.
we carry our service manuals on SD cards and I found fitting the microSD card very fiddly. once installed, however, it stays put. it goes under the SIM card and anyone who has handled...

O2 Online Tarrifs Review
Review of O2 by
Simon_J
Advantages: Great price, lots of inclusive minutes + texts.
Disadvantages: Customer Service can be hard to contact.
...be suitable for business users, or anyone who has to make lots of calls during the day. But for personal use, people who can avaoid calls during the day and do lots of text'ing they are ideal.
All these tarrifs can provide access to the O2 WAP, O2 Active, and the O2 Mobile Web services. (WAP/GPRS full Internet access for devices such as the O2 XDA).
The one downside is that because they come with some data inclusive (400 WAP minutes + 0.5 Mb GPRS) you can't add on to these tarrifs the O2 Data Bundle, which is a shame.
All in all though, if your usage patterns match up with one of the tarrifs, they are definately worth looking in to....

Mobile/pda from O2
Review of O2 XDA 2 by
bubblegirl2001
Advantages: Big screen, full qwerty keyboard, looks swanky, can access the net and lots of cool games and programs
Disadvantages: Camera is terrible and battery doesnt last long
...I've been looking around for a new phone for ages and being a gadget lover, I was looking for something with a bit of meat on it. I'd looked at the phone on various sites but was still undecided, that all changed as soon as I passed the O2 shop last week. I went in just to 'take a quick look' and 10 minutes later left with a shiny carrier bag. Fast forward to now and after a weeks worth of playing around with it, here's what I think....
The phone has a nice weight to it and doesnt feel cheap, the fantastic large, bright screen is great, it's a touchscreen and very responsive. It comes with a stylus pen to use, which slots into the phone casing when not in use, you can also you the navigation buttons at the bottom of the phone and there are some shortcut buttons that take you to internet explorer and your messages.
The full qwerty...
