The banging and knocking down of walls did actually stop at 7pm and didn't start until 1100 Sunday morning. The en-suite bathroom had a shower, and it was all very clean and comfortable, with a good strong supply of hot water. I had read elsewhere that the walls are thin and the noise from adjoining rooms is very distinct. I found that to be true, the lady in the room next to me was having a phone converation from 6.30pm until I went out at 8pm - if I had spoken Turkish, I could have picked up every word. Virginia Water Lake

Advantages: lovely place to go for a stroll, lots to look at, car park
Disadvantages: need to keep dogs on a lead

...Virginia Water Lake is the most well known of three lakes in Windsor Great Park, the other two are Obelisk Pond and Johnston's Pond. It is a lovely place to come for a walk or cycle no matter what time of year because the surrounding countryside is beautiful. There is a guided walk which takes you the full four and a half miles around the lake. This takes you past some lovely sites. There is a 100ft Totem Pole at the start of the walk which was sent as a gift from the government of British Columbia, which is very interesting because it decorated with lovely carvings. The Cumberland Obelisk is a memorial to the younger son of George II, Prince William. To the north of the lake there is the Guards Polo Club and Windsor Park Equestrian Club - an area called Smith's Lawn; there are usually horses being ridden around these parts so you...

Victory square

Advantages: a memorial to brave soldiers who died during the world war 2
Disadvantages: it's only so much fun you can have looking at memorials

A four sided obelisk reminds us of those who sacrificed their lives during Second World War. Every fourth Belarus died during the war. A bit easy

Advantages: New units and levels
Disadvantages: Not that much has been improved

...I don't know about you, but I found Firestorm a little bit too easy. The most difficult things were to new Tiberium Lifeforms. Westwood have just got a very simple add-on here. The levels aren't too amazing having completed some in about 2 minutes. The new units are interesting, some good, some bad. I reccon that GDIs defences could have been improved in comparison to NODs obelisks of lights. I suppose for an add-on it is good, as the story line of this game is quite good, and the way you can play both good and the bad guys make it even better. I've played all C&C games now, and they dont change much, but they are always fun for me....

A Poor Tribute to an Important Historic Battlefield

Advantages: Go because you really SHOULD and seriously awesome history took place in this field
Disadvantages: Don't expect to find much to see when you get there.

...at the top of the field. It's a tall elegant obelisk which stands on the site of a windmill that would have been an important landmark on the battlefield. On top of the obelisk there's a ball and at the base there's a plinth. The stone is badly weathered and in poor condition. The monument is surrounded by a wooden fence and there's a large plaque recounting the history of the battle and showing where everything happened. You can stand at the monument and look down the gentle slope across the field and try really hard to imagine men fighting and getting slaughtered around you. However, it takes an impressive imagination to see anything more than a farmer's field. According to what I've read in local papers the Battlefields Trust is campaigning to build a proper visitor centre with viewing platforms and walks through the battlefield. When that...

Advantages: Near to other attractions, great places to get lunch and coffee

It's near to the mauseleum of Hadrian and just below a fantastic park, Borghese, that's great to eat lunch and relax in. The squares name is derrived from the modern Italian for 'the peoples square'. The church that stands on one side of the square, Santa Maria del Popolo takes it's name from the historical context of the name of the square.
