Chill Out Time In Tunisia

Advantages: Lovely hotel with great facilities
Disadvantages: Doesn't have it's own beach

...My boyfriend and I took a week long holiday to Port El Kantaoui in Tunisia in May 2008. The Occidental Allegro Riviera Hotel is a 4 star hotel. We mainly booked this holiday just to have a cheap, chilled out week in the sunshine. We also wanted a fairly short haul flight and we felt that Tunisia would be perfect for this. Travel Time from The UK We flew from London Gatwick and our flight took 2 and a half hours which was lovely as I am used to really long haul flights. The Occidental Allegro Riviera is located about a 40 minute bus journey from the airport, with a few other drop offs included on the way. Our transfers were included in the price of the holiday. Price We paid £455 per person for 7 nights on an all inclusive basis which I thought was pretty reasonable. This hotel also has a sister hotel called...

Occidental Allegro , Playa Dorada

Advantages: All inclusive , Beaches and People
Disadvantages: Annoying beach sellers

...As a couple we had been recommended the Dominican Republic as a lively and friendly place to visit for our August 2003 hols. We choose carefully through several travel agents and First Choice won out as being the friendliest and least pushy! The resort of Occidental Allegro is one of many beach side resorts in Playa Dorada along the atlantic sea front ; Don't let this put you off as sea was warm and calm every day ( well it was august) AIRLINE: Travelled on an AIR 2000 plane and this was the only let down of the whole holiday as stewartdesess were very un helpful and seemed to positively un-friendly .Not what you want on an 10 hour flight! Occidental Grand...but not very!

Advantages: Large landscaped grounds, lovely beach, large rooms!
Disadvantages: Repetition of bland food, staff a bit rude.

...I stayed at the Occidental Grand Fuerteventura from 5-12th December 07 and travelled with First Choice. First impressions: On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the reception staff who were more than helpful, filling us in on the hotel grounds. As we had arrived at around 9.30pm, they had extended the opening hours of the buffet so warm food was available for us. Our bags were taken to our rooms while we went and ate. Hotel: The hotel grounds are spacious and well landscaped. There are numerous pools so they are never full, as well as a dedicated kids pool with lifeguard, and adult pool which is nice and quiet. In December, the pools were too cold for me to swim in, but the kids didn't seem to mind! Sun beds are plentiful around the hotel, but none are found on the beach which is nice. "Cat Café's" are found...

Occidental Grand Turquesa....needs a bit of TLC

Advantages: swimming pools, staff, gardens, air conditioning (in rooms)
Disadvantages: a few bin bags, tarantulas!, long walks

Worth a Visit!

Excellent holiday, location, atmosphere - highly recommended

Advantages: The space, decor, view, service, location ... everything!
Disadvantages: price of drinks at the hotel bar

...I stayed for 10 nights at the end of june / beginning of july and thoroughly enjoyed the whole stay. The staff are very firendly and they can't do enough for your! We were lucky enough to not stay at the hotel during UK school holidays and this suited us perfectly as there were ample amounts of everything to go round. The hotel was not unbusy though, there were a fairly large number of guests staying there during our visit and there were no complaints that we heard of. There were not that many British guests staying at the Occidental when we stayed and this was ideal for us. There were mainly German guests there the first few days of our stay (end of June) and they soon disappeared at the beginning of July and they were replaced by Spanish guests. This was fantastic as, unlike most British holiday makers, they were unselfish, polite...
