Maidenhead Odeon Cinema - stay away!!
Advantages: there wasn't any!
Disadvantages: no food or drink, dirty, screens didn't work, didn't show any of the top movies
...we wanted to see.
From the outside, the cinema doesn't seem as impressive or big compared to the Vue cinema I usually go to in Cambridge. We walked through the doors, to find a large, virtually empty room. There was a really old arcade machine to the right, and to the left a small counter where you're meant to buy your tickets. There was no food or drink to be seen, and at the far end of the room was a few doors with numbers above them - obviously being the screen numbers. So at this point, we were both pretty unimpressed by what we saw. However, both wanting to see a movie after our morning swim, we looked up at the two plasma screens above the counter to find out what time our movie was being shown. Guess what? They weren't on! We saw a few other groups of people looking through a booklet with ODEON plastered on the front, so I walked...

Odeon cinema - The Quay
Advantages: modern, clean
Disadvantages: access by road only
...Although located about 2 miles from the city centre, The Quay is in a retail park based around the Odeon cinema, making ideal for city centre visitors without having to pay parking charges.
Ideally located for access from the M8 (eastbound Kinning Park exit), and from the M77.
12 screens, from 89 to 279.
Normally showing between 14 and 18 films, at various times.
Adult tickets are £5, students/children are £3.50.
No further discounts are currently offered (as at 01/06/02).
After entering the foyer, a rather vast servery is available in the centre of the floor.
You are permitted to bring your own food/drinks onto premises.
No alcohol is permitted, and there are no bars/licence.
I have made several visits to this cinema and been in most of the screens, from the small cosy 89 seater to the massive 279 seater. All films...

Odeon Cinema - Huddersfield
Advantages: clean, reasonable prices, easy to find and park
Disadvantages: bar needs updating, stupid premier seats
...i agree totally with the other review on the fact that odeon should have updated the cinema. it's a great cinema except for the bar, which is awful. it looks scruffy and dirty and hasn't had anything done since this opened as a UCI.
The rest of it is good though. There is a lot of parking (but always full) and pizza hut and the ropewalk are right next door - great food at the ropewalk!
there is always a good choice of films as you'd expect, but dont go to the preview showings or you'll be waiting ages to get in. the food is typical cinema food, add an extra £2 onto everything. also dont pay for the premier seats. they are like normal seats but with a tiny bit more leg room etc. we were gutted as we thought they were massage seats or something!...

Odeon in Kingston Upon Thames
Advantages: large cinema, night screening, many restaurants
Disadvantages: no parking around
...Odeon cinema complex in Kingston Upon Thames is a favourite destination for families, couples, groups and individuals from all over the area/county. It is one of the biggest cinemas around and it has got a choice of restaurants, bars and 12 screens which makes it easier with choosing from current movies.
The complex is orientated oposite the Kingston train station and its short distance to high street. It is busy area and always buzzing. When you walk in through glass door you can either go upstairs using escalator or lift or downstairs.
The ground floor has a restaurant during the day and bar in the night. I think they have got evening restaurant in separate area from tables when youngsters usually drink before hitting the nightclub Oceana next door.
Lower level has got Bowling and other entertainment with bar and fast food...

The good, old Odeon
Advantages: Friendly, really enjoyable.
Disadvantages: seems to be following the flow of commercialisation...
...For a movie nowadays, large multi screen cinemas are a common place choice for any cinema goers. They all have about eleven top quality, massive screens, restaurants, shops and large food areas, costing yourself a small paycheck. What you pay in there for one visit, is probably more than the employee will receive that week in his pay.
Now, the odeon is a fabourite cinema for many and still incorporates less costs than most for ticket sales and for your viewing snacks. On a recent visit, though I don't go much, I found they were going with the crowd and had had itself refurbished. The prices had rised a little bit but not yet reaching higher prices of, for example, the two ABC cinemas, also in the city.
It only had about six screens but had all of the latest titles. After getting tickets and snacks, me and my friends were directed...

Odeon - Liverpool's Number One
Advantages: Good sized screens, great auditoriums, caters for everyone,
Disadvantages: Popcorn sometimes cardboardy, expensive chocolate treats,
...I am a huge cinema fan, and living in the centre of Birmingham for the last couple of years has meant putting up with Odeon Birmingham. Needless to say, I was very happy to discover the brand spanking new Odeon in Liverpool One,
Odeon Liverpool One
Odeon is actually the largest cinema chain in the UK, created by Oscar Deutsch in 1928. Some say that the name comes from Ancient Greek, others say that it comes from the motto Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation.
There are currently... a lot of Odeon cinemas across the UK (I tried to count, but it's a lot!). The website has a cinema finder to help you locate your nearest. For this review I shall be talking about Odeon, Liverpool ONE.
When Liverpool ONE was redeveloped, the city centre Odeon branch was relocated here. The entrance can be found...

Odean Cinema - The Quay
Advantages: Good location, great selection of food places and a theme pub nearby, right on the banks of the River Clyde, great parking facilities
Disadvantages:
...This Odeon multicomplex is in an ideal location.
Built very close to the River Clyde at the Springfield Quay, Paisley Road West, it is surrounded by great eating places such as Fatty Arbuckles and Frankie & Bennies, a Mecca Bingo and Hotshots a theme pub with bowling, pool, games machines, food and lots more.
It is also near the M8 motorway and the City Centre and there is a great parking facilities.
You can also walk along the banks of the River Clyde
at your leisure.
You can really make a good day out by visiting the Springfield Quay and the children will be kept amused also!...

The grand new cinema of Wimbledon
Advantages: excellent sound systems, lots more screens means more showings of different films
Disadvantages: some screens still quite small
...It took a while to arrive and caused much disruption to the already busy surroundings of Wimbledon town. Yet when it was finally opened it soon becam clear that this huge complex was much needed.
The previous odeon was very small with most of the screens being old and run down. One room I remember was not much bigger than a living room. However the new cinema has plenty of screens which means that there are several showings of each film so that people can watch films at even more times. You are no longer restricted to the old 3 showings a day and a late showing.
Also the sound systems in each of the screens are very impressive especially in big action films. I recently went and saw Terminator 3 there and in some of its action packed seens the place really comes to life.
The odeon has a much bigger confectionary section...

The "Magic" of Cinema
Advantages: Good food selection, New and comfortable seats in the screens
Disadvantages: Poorly designed, Expensive, No waiting area or seating, A soulless experience
...The Odeon in Newcastle used to be a large and lavish Paramount Theatre; this building, fine as it was (indeed, it was grade 2 listed by English Heritage) sadly closed down in 2002 and is now a pathetically abandoned shell that has still not found another use, despite being de-listed. The reason for the Odeon's abandonment of this little piece of architectural history was the decision to get in on a new development on the other side of the city centre, called The Gate. The Gate is an "entertainment complex" that was conceived in 2001 to provide a 3-storey shopping mall-type structure housing restaurants, bars, clubs and a casino; the new Odeon took over the top floor of this complex, making it within easy staggering distance of several of the city's newest watering holes. In May 2006, this cinema was actually taken over by Empire Cinemas...

Credo - I believe in cinema
Advantages: Beautiful, artistic, accessible
Disadvantages: Some may be put off by the subtitling
...FILM ONLY (with brief reference to the Director's Cut)
Foreign language films are rarely top of my watch list although I have seen some cracking examples. Invariably those that I like tend to the arty side of cinema. Occasionally there'll be a foreign language breakthrough like Amelié which brings this genre to the attention of a wider audience whereas films such as Tous les Matins du Monde will remain forever in the background.
Cinema Paradiso is, however, a film that is both accessible and beautiful and cannot fail to be appreciated by anyone with a love of cinema. That it is subtitled is far from distracting, the photography taking care of the story for the most part and one is quickly subsumed into a world that is all encompassing.
Post-war Italy was a very different place to the society in which we live...
