Off-roading made classy

Advantages: Enormously powerful off-roader, quite comfortable and relatively easy to fix and maintain
Disadvantages: Hungry and noisy, needs ECU upgrade to fully exploit its capabilities

...I had Disco 2 TD5 for a year and a half now and am very pleased with it. It's just as capable off-road as a Defender, but much more comfortable and will get you there in style. Reliability is generally not a problem - unless you count broken front differential, amongst other things, but mine is a proper off-roader, and is used accordingly. Mine is a "facelift" model, reg late 2002, and I recommend it over the earlier ones, mostly because of active cornering system, which makes driving nearly 3 tons worth of machinery a relatively easy task. Can't comment on MPG, because my car is by no means standard - the engine is chipped for power, mud-terrain tyres and suspension lift are not exactly fuel-saving features either. But then, if you want fuel economy, you buy a Prius. Repairs can be expensive like everything Land Rover. But the car...

This game is great fun, especially in two player mode. The trucks look cool and the soundtrack really suits the game as you're throwing yourself off the top of a cliff at over 100mph! The races can get a bit annoying at times with the other racers constantly trying to mess up your race but this just adds to the challenge. Racing Without The Road Rage

...Rage Racer is the first title from the Ridge Racer series that I played. Unlike Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Revolution before it, Rage Racer is not an arcade conversion and was developed exclusively for the PlayStation. That's not to say Namco have taken away from its arcade racing roots though. In Grand Prix mode you start off with a bog-standard car. While it won't improve the performance, you can change the appearance of the car, or any of the other cars which can be bought with the money you win by finishing on the podium. The format for racing is that you pick a track to race on, with podium finishes in all courses allowing you to move onto the next class. Faster cars will then be required to compete. ...As my son (18 months) is rapidly becoming a Roary the Racing Car fan, I thought that we should be one of the first families to purchase this DVD. Managed to order it online from Amazon, along with another item and got both for less than the high street price and free delivery to boot. Anyway...the review - The DVD is based on the adventures of a little red racing car called Roary. He stays at the Silverhatch race track with his friends. Most episodes feature Roary and his four racing car friends (Maxi, CiCi, Drifter and Tin Top. There are also two human characters called Big Chris (voiced by Peter Kay) and Marsha (The race marshall). On the surface this DVD looks every bit as good as the first one in the series (Roary's First Day), but it has 7 episodes instead of 5. Although I still think that is a bit meager. Also...

...I watched this film one Sunday afternoon and I could not believe that I had not seen it before this was a great children's film and was very entertaining.
