However, having suffered from acne for years, I purchased one of their trial kits and have been hooked ever since. The Normalizing Day Oil is in fact for people who suffer from acne or have oily skin. Now I realise that people with oily skin dont want to put oil on their face but, trust me you have to try this. I suffer badly from shiny skin and was always powdering my face but since using this product, I find even after a long day at work, my face isnt too shiny and my make up still seems to be in place. Rather than the usual 3 steps of cleanse tone and moisturise, Decleor adds a fourth step to their skincare programmes, before moisturising you add the teeniest bit of an aromatherapy oil to provide intensive benefits. Now it can seem a little strange to put an oil on a greasy skin, but 'oil' is perhaps a misleading term here. ...I have slightly oily and spot prone skin and this really is a wonder product. It is full of wonderful quality, natural ingredients which you know are really doing your skin some good (hence Liz Earle's tag line - 'Naturally Active Skincare'). There is no hint of oilyness to the texture and it glides onto the skin beautifully, leaving your face and neck feeling refreshed, cooled, healthy and shine free. It seems to me that it doubles up as a primer, because when using other moisturisers I usually need to put on a primer before my make-up to get rid of any shinyness and stickiness. But with this product that is not necessary because your skin is left looking and feeling so good. The lady behind the counter sympathised with my oliy skin problem and told me that this product would be the difference maker to my skin. For a 15ml bottle of this rather exotic oil I paid £30. I just hoped it was worth it. The oil is actually a blend of other plant ingredients as well as Ylang-Ylang which is what I believe makes it so effective. The liquid soap cleanses and prepares the skin for steps 2 and 3, which are exfoliating/toning, and moisturising. As with all Clinique products, the facial soap too, is 100% fragrance free, and allergy tested. However, when I saw the above-mentioned product, I thought I had found something that would really work. This product said that it would work on my skin overnight and clear up my skin. How wrong was I? From the first time I tried it, I knew I had made a mistake. Within 5 minutes of applying the product, my face was even oilier than usual and when I woke up in the morning, you could have literally scraped off the excess oil. My skin was 10 times worse than before. My acne flared up and I ended up with pimples that took ages to clear up. ...Ok so you dont actually pour this on and its not "oil" in the way we think of oil :) This is Decleors "antidote" to oily skin. It works best on oily or combination skin. Its not suitable for dry or normal skin. Decleor Aromessence Ylang Ylang is a blend of 100% natural and pure essential oils - Ylang Ylang, geranium, rosemary, and hazelnut plant oil. The oils (especially the geranium) are chosen for their purifying and regulating properties. left in their oil form instead of being mixed with an emollient they are more easily absorbed by the skin so a little goes a long way. In this case, just three drops is all thats needed. Decleor recommend using this product twice a day after cleansing and toning-and before moisterising.
