OKI lazer printer cheap and cheerful

Disadvantages: Heavy, running cost

...The Oki C3200 lazer printer was great value purchase. i got mine for £160 which for a lazer printer full of toner is actually quite cheap. the printer its self is quite big and can only do up to A4. it also weights a bit so pick a spot where it will live because you wont ever feel like moving it. Using 4 color toner cartridiges (cyan, magenta, yellow, black.) the printer preduces great quality prints, thats once it warms, takes about 2mins in my experience. once it does warm up it just spits out the pages one after another almost no pause between pages, it seems to take less than 2 seconds per page. For the size of this printer i was suprised that it only holds 500 sheets of paper which means regular trips back to it. the upkeep can work out expencive depending on how much you use it toner prices start at £24 for 1,500 page...

Oki is OK

Advantages: Great for text
Disadvantages: A bit noisy

...I believe that most OKI microline printers are used for business purposes, as are most other dot matrix printers. The microline can be seen in Airports and Hotels all around the country. I have used them in a business capacity for several years and always found them to be outstandingly reliable. I have now been fortunate enough to pick one up for home use. It is second hand with quite a few miles on the clock but is ideal for my uses since I send out a lot of letters and type up reports etc. for my college course. Make no mistake, dot matrix printers are for text only, don't even consider printing graphics on one - it just looks crap. But as a text-only printer the Microline 520 is very hard to beat. Review of OKI B 4100

Oki 5600n Is Amazing!

Advantages: Low cost, relatively quiet, good software pack & support from Oki
Disadvantages: Wish it was A3 for this price but nothing else springs to mind

...When Oki released their colour printers a few years ago the print results were mediocre to say the least. Colour lasers had cleaner sharper lines and the finish was simply better. In the past couple of years Oki have refined their technology and printer software to bring us a range of machines that are truly amazing! The C5600n was my printer of choice. It warms up quickly, is reltively quiet and produces laser quality fast prints at a relatively low cost. The user interface is excellent, printer operation is simple and the replacement of toners, drums and fuser unit very simple. There are good offers around from main line Oki dealers so shop wisely but deals can be found. I would be wary of buying second hand as these machines can be given hard lifes but for a personal/office printer of this quality at a sub-£400 price...

Advantages: You'll never meet someone wearing the same item as you (only 30 of each product are produced)!, Stunning "gallery" to view products
Disadvantages: Relatively high premium, around 30-60% than the equivalent designer product, rather slow delivery and web-site

Very Good Basic Dot Matrix Printer

Advantages: Quick reliable dot matrix printer
Disadvantages: Just remember it is a dot matrix

...I have used these printers on and off for over 12 years. They are generally reliable and good for a 9 pin dot matrix. Some early ones had problems with weak drive gears, but later ones are fine. I had to go through about 50 of these looking for dodgy gears and replacing them!!!!! They support both IBM and EPSON control codes and have an easy to use menu which prints as it goes. They are available with both Centronics and RS232 sockets. Extras include various tractor feed modules. For business use with pre printed stationary they are excellent and are my favourite DMP. Scoring Picture Quality, well it is a dot matrix hence poor. it is also mono. Perfect SOHO solution!

...Have owned this printer for a few months now and is not disappointed. It makes very nice prints, is quite customizable and is not as noicy as many other color laser printers. I have access to a HP Lasterjet 2550n, which it beats in more than one way. The colors of the OKI prints are of course not what you see on your screen. That means that you have to get used to the printer, to learn which colors it will spit out. I suppose that is perfectly normal for a printer in this class. And one has to remember this is NOT a photoprinter - appearently bubblejets have overtaken this segment when it comes to quality. What do you need to know, if you want to buy this thing? Well.
