Persimmon made my house a home!

Advantages: Reasonable price, good service
Disadvantages: Nothing major

...this offer is that they only get 15% minus any improvements you've made. For example, if you've added a loft conversion and a conservatory, they only get 15% of the house minus those two additions. We looked around the show homes in two different developments and were well impressed with the quality we saw. Also, I was pleased that at no stage were we hassled or rushed. The sales team let us look around on our own and did not pressure us into making any decisions. And also two out of the three were very considerate of the fact we were first time buyers and answered any questions we had without making us feel too stupid! The other lady was not so patient and probably was not ideally suited to a development designed for first-time buyers, but luckily our dealings with her were fairly limited. The sales advisors also provided us...

Ealing Balti House - a Delightful Find Near Home

Advantages: Friendly efficient service, food adjusted to customers taste when necessary
Disadvantages: Not as busy as it could be

...Ealing Balti House is a delightful little Indian restaurant located in West Ealing which has been in operation since 1996. West Ealing is in West London and it?s not exactly one of the nicer parts of Ealing which is a shame as this restaurant gets easily overlooked when people think about dining in the Ealing area. My husband and I found this restaurant quite by chance a few years ago as it?s walking distance from our home. We were somewhat surprised to notice it as we thought we?d tried out all of the Indian restaurants in the Ealing area over the years. Unfortunately it?s not in the best location in Ealing, it?s on the main road of the West Ealing shopping area but it?s right at the end so it?s easily missed as it?s opposite the local Kwik Fit and parking is only available on the single yellow lines outside the restaurant or across...

THIS OLD HOUSE

Advantages: It's available to all of you
Disadvantages: To me none

...This is one of my favourite places beacuse when I enter this building I know that all lifes worries are left on the doorstep I am entering a building that is going to present me with the best of talents that are on offer in the world today. HISTORY OF THE HOUSE The Royal Opera House is situated in London's Covent Garden it first opened it's doors in December 1732. This site has been the home of three differnent theatres. the first was mainly a playhouse. The first serious music to be performed here were operas by Handel who played here from 1735 to his death in 1759. He left his organ to the theatre when he died but sadly this was destroyed by a fire in 1808. Is that not a tragedy? The theatre was then rebuilt and it opened it's doors in 1809 again it was not just for the performances of Ballet and Opera, the exclusive rights...

New bottle, old Wine, microsoft windows vista home basic

Advantages: Easy to use, improved features
Disadvantages: Find out

...windows vista home basic Operating System. This is one of six Microsoft's new version of Operating System. Users can install it to a Windows or Macintosh based Computer, along with upgrading from the previous xp versions. A Computer user interface, is the graphics, the layout of the software program. In simple terms it is what the user can see on the screen. The home version that I am reviewing in comparison to my existing xp home Computer Operating System seems as the name suggests to offer just the basic new features. Is it any good? The start button is smaller and squarer than that in xp home. The design based on what you see on the Desktop screen is far clearer and more professional from a design and quality perspective. Upon running the start menu, there is a Search Toolbar that enables fast browsing and access. Also...

Wish my house was an Ideal Home!

Advantages: Plenty of ideas and examples for all budgets
Disadvantages: Slightly pricier than some other glossy house magazines

...Still waiting to move house, feels like I'm going to be here forever, how many people feel like that?? So what with chocolate in hand and a home magazine, life can be escaped for an hour or two (not the chocolate though, that's about 5 seconds)! IPC media who publish this magazine is one of UK's leading consumer magazine publishers selling over 350 million copies each year (so someone else is trying to escape too! or they might be just a little luckier than me and have just got their dream home to attack with wonderful new ideas)?? reaching 70% of UK women and 50% of UK men - 28 million UK adults. Other magazines they publish: Living etc, Homes and Gardens, Woman and Home, What's on TV, Now, Marie Claire, In Style, Loaded, Nuts, NME, Wallpaper, Country Life, The Field, Rugby World, Practical Boat owner, Pick Me Up and TV Easy...

One Of The Oldest Houses In Derbyshire!

Advantages: Lots Of History
Disadvantages: Entrance Charges, Closed During The Winter

...The Old House Museum is a little place tucked away, high on a hillside overlooking the beautiful town of Bakewell, right in the heart of Derbyshire's Peak District. Built in 1534, during the reign of King Henry V111, this is one of the oldest surviving Buildings in Derbyshire, and thus provides a fascinating insight into local life over the past 500 years. In its early days this house belonged to the Gell family and was the home of a tax collector, known as a "tithe man." Over the next 200 years the house was extended and changed owners several times. It eventually became a farmhouse but in the late 1700's a local businessman called Richard Arkwright bought the property. He owned one of the water-powered mills in the village and was looking for suitable accommodation for his mill workers. He converted the building into Cottages, but...

Chartwell House, Kent - Home of Churchill

Advantages: Fascinating house, lovely gardens, easy to find
Disadvantages: A bit pricy for a family

...Chartwell House in Kent is most famous for being the home of Winston Churchill and as such acts as a museum and shrine to his life and works. However, it is set in an extremely beautiful location with wonderful gardens and gorgeous views that are a pleasure in their own right and a good guide as to why Churchill himself loved the place so much and why he spent the majority of his life there. The entire site has been owned and run by the National Trust for a number of years and in terms of facilities and general quality is pretty much what you'd expect. On with the details. ############################### # Getting There ############################### Chartwell House is open all year except Dec 25th and is near Westerham, Kent. The National trust website gives useful notes on getting there by road, rail, bike, bus...

'House' for your home...

Advantages: Saves you money!
Disadvantages: May not be for you if your net connection is dodgy!

...As a few of you will know, my part time job (in between University lectures!) is a telecommunications post?or, to me and you, one of those people who calls up when you?re either on the loo, having your tea or on your way out! However, I am not a sales caller, i.e. I don?t call anybody up trying to sell them anything. I work for a company who is employed by British Gas on a campaign called ?BG Online?. ~~~~~ My task~~~~~ My task, set by my company is to make existing British/Scottish Gas customers aware of the new free service www.house.co.uk. If you are a British gas customer you will have/or will soon receive more information on this service, but my job is to see if customers would like me to register them. ~~~~~What exactly is house.co.uk?~~~~~ House.co.uk is a new free service that British/Scottish Gas are providing which...

McCains Home Fries - a Chip off the Old Block

Advantages: Quite filling. Goes nicely with almost any meal. Rather moreish.
Disadvantages: Quite fattening. Take a longer time to cook than your standard chip.

...McCain is a name that is synonymous with teatime dinners. For decades they have been producing chips, vegetables and other potato based products, and have developed a reputation for high quality food. Having tasted their brand of Home Fries (which are considerably thicker than your standard chip), I can safely say that they uphold their reputation. The price may be a negative factor, at around £2 for a 1.5kg bag (although I have seen them around on special offers where the price has been £1). However, for the price, you do get good quality potatoes. The packaging is appealing. A royal blue bag with "Home Fries" written in bold red letters, above an appetising bowl of golden chips. The sunflowers that appear behind the McCain logo go to show that they can be cooked with a healthy alternative to the more fattening cooking oils...

* The Bunny House *

Advantages: Funny , Plot
Disadvantages: May Send Out Wrong Message To Young Girls!

...Recently I have been swapping DVDs with my friend ; I've been borrowing her 'up-to-date' movies and she's been watching my 'rom-coms'. One of the DVDs which I borrowed from my friend was a film called ' The House Bunny'. The House Bunny is an American romantic comedy film released in the United Kingdom on 10th October 2008. This film stars Anna Faris , (who's previous films include , Just Friends and My Super Ex Girlfriend). Running time of the movie is ninety seven minutes (seven minutes over one hour and a half). Shelley (Faris) is a playboy playmate living a luxury life in the playboy mansion. Soon after her twenty seventh birthday , she is told that she is now too old to be a playboy bunny and so it 'thrown out' of the playboy house. Feeling upset and lonely , she tries hard to fit in with other girl groups , although soon...
