Hotel In prague
Advantages: Reasonably cheap accomodation
Disadvantages: No in house Restaurant, No Room Service
...The accomodation
Upon checking in to the accomodation I was asked for my Passport, so they could check the details of the booking I had made under my own name. I guess they use this procedure against breakages and in case of theft, trouble etc. I have not known this to be a feature in accomodation in England. This company procedure did not bother me whatsoever.
I travelled alone to this accomodation, having booked a small room, however when I was shown my room I am sure it would have been suitable for two people. As I was staying in prague for two nights on a leisurely short city break, this did not particularly bother me too much regarding the standard of the facilities. When I was shown my room there were two single Bed's situated side-by-side. The Bed's to my eyes looked nineteen eightees style old fashioned beds...

Great stay at this hotel in Prague
Advantages: Low price paid per night, decent basic breakfast
Disadvantages: No tea and coffee facilities inside the room.
...way to get to the town center, and slightly longer to get to the old town of Prague which during a winter trip can prove to be slightly long and cold to get to see Prague's main attractions. Also walking to the town centre does not seem to be a good option if choosing this hotel as it would take over an hour walk to get to the centre of Prague.
Value for Money
Considering I had some of the best nights sleep ever during my stay here, and also given that a buffet self service breakfast was served during the mornings I felt really well looked after and I was certainly impressed with the accomodation. I was charged a fair price overall for my stay and even though there was not much activities inside the hotel to do, for a basic night stay this was well within a budget luxury and affordable service.

A bargain character hotel in the Centre of Prague
Advantages: Good location, small inexpensive hotel with large room
Disadvantages: Not a full-service hotel
...Sometimes I really have to think long and hard about whether to write a review of a hotel that I like for fear of persuading others to use it and then finding I can't get a room next time I want one. So please consider yourselves honoured that I'm going to let you in on a secret and tell you about the hotel I found recently in Prague.
Why do so many people shun local hotels in favour of the international hotel chains? Well my guess is that they are looking for security - like American tourists hunting down McDonalds in Paris and Rome. They know they'll never get anything surprising but they know exactly what they WILL get. A hotel brand should guarantee a certain level of quality in return for sometimes paying well over the odds. So if you decide to pick an independent hotel at random will you end up in a bed-bug ridden filth pit...

Hotel Duo - Prague
Advantages: Great place to stay
Disadvantages: Few
...Just returned fron Prague and thought this hotel definitely deserved a review!
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for four nights Sunday - Thursday.
Where is it?
The Hotel Duo is not right in the centre of Prague, you do have to do a bit of traveling - but this is pain free and pretty simple.
From the airport we booked a transfer online, this cost us 650Kc. This works out at about £14, this is each way for up to 4 people.
The hotel offers taxi transfers slightly cheaper than this which can be booked on their website before for your arrival, and booked in the hotel for departure.
They also offer a minibus service to the airport for up to 8 people. This cost about £25 which is very reasonable.
Other ways to get to the hotel are to get a bus (119) from the airport to the Dejvicka metro station, which is on the green line...

Hotel Bellagio, Prague
Advantages: Small, smart, central
Disadvantages: Nowhere to 'lounge'
...breakfast you then have Prague on your doorstep. The Bellagio is in the Josevof quarter, which is part of the old town. We were 3 minutes walk north of the old town square, the river was a street away and we walked to the castle (up a huge hill) in about 15 minutes. On a warm day.
In any direction from the hotel there are plenty of bars and restaurants of varying style, cuisine and price range. This is despite the fact that we decided we were in a smart part of town, as we walked towards the Old Town Square we passed Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Faberge, Dunhill, etc. and a couple of super chic establishments, which we visited, although we probably wouldn't have dared had we been in e.g. Knightsbridge!
Despite all there is around the quarter is quiet in the evenings, plenty of strolling couples and not a hint of a stag party. We could look over...

Lord take me to Heaven. Take me to the Mandarin Oriental Prague.
Advantages: Luxury hotel. Brilliant food. Excellent service. Great location. Value for Money!
Disadvantages: Having to go home!
...years!
Booking
After I had discovered the hotel?s existence I looked at the selection of online deals. There were certainly plenty of rates available, however I prefer to deal with Mandarin Oriental over the telephone. Usually there are other promotions available direct that can be more suited to your needs. I called the hotel directly and lone behold there was a perfect deal for us. They arranged for us to pay for the first two nights and they would award us the third night complementary. This was inclusive of breakfast. They would also provide us with 100 Euro of credit to use within the hotel restaurant or bar should we wish. So for £300 I was getting three nights of five star luxury. I was sold. The final thing to arrange was the transfer from the airport to the hotel. Now last time I was in Prague we took a rather scruffy taxi to...

Cheap hotel outside centre of Prague
Advantages: Quite cheap, clean
Disadvantages: not in centre & taxis are not cheap!!
...I went to Praque twice this year with my boyfriend. We stayed here for 5 nights from 2nd January this year and the hotel was about £225 for the two of us - inc. basic continental breakfast.
We didnt book hotel transfer - wish we had cos the taxi charged us about £20 - for a half hour/ 40mins tranfer - so make sure you book a transfer cos we did get ripped off! I would not recommend getting the metro as there are loads of steps to get to the metro station and some of the escalators are really steep and you feel as though its straight down!! Also, the buses are quite regular but again I would not recommend it - although they are very cheap but you have to buy a ticket and usually you will need change to use the machine and the queues can be quite long for the desk service. While you are in Prague - i would recommend trying the wee...

hotel olsanka
Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: Not so easy to access the town centre of prague.
...hotel olsanka prague
Having been to prague recently and having stayed at this particular accomodation a few years ago, I was keen to give this place one final chance as I had had a really rubbish stay at this place. Similarly to my previous stay, I had notice that the Hotel seems to be advertised much cheaper on accomodation websites compared to near enough all other places to stay in prague.
getting to the accomodation
The details of getting to prague town centre are covered in my previous prague accomodation review, and whilst this accomodation is not as easy to get to location wise, a tram journey needed to get the accomodation from one of the central location's of prague town centre.
booking process
I booked this accomodation using a third party reservation booking website and paid around seventy euros...

Our Perfect Stay In Prague
Advantages: Convenient location, lovely apartment, good value for money
Disadvantages: Outside of building could do with a re - vamp
...For my boyfriend's birthday last year, I booked us both tickets to Prague for a 5 day break in December. After booking the flights, I then needed to find somewhere to stay. I looked around on the internet and found that if you wanted to stay close to the attractions, then the hotel cost was going to be very expensive. I carried on looking through the website and eventually came across a website for Old Town Apartments.
Old Town Apartments
Old Town Apartments own a number of apartments in various parts of Prague. These range from studio apartments to apartments that sleep up to eight people. I booked a studio apartment as we obviously only needed the one bedroom.
Booking Our Stay
Booking our apartment was really simple. I literally logged onto their website, entered the dates I needed to stay and also which sort of apartment I...

My first holiday abroad - Hotel Duo Prague
Advantages: Cheap, clean, spacious, sports centre,
Disadvantages: Out of town, charges for use of facilties usually free in UK 4* hotels
.... The 7 day ticket cost Kc280 each about £8 for the week. No one checked the ticket until we had been there 6 days, and the guy checking had a troupe of armed police with him so it is not worth trying to get away with not buying a ticket - especially as it is so cheap!
Public transport is extremely clean, when a train arrived in Prague station an army of cleaners descended on it and mopped the floors and walls down. There was graffiti and some vandalism but no litter, mess or smells - unlike the public transport in the U.K.
Eating in the city:
----------------------
We started staying out a bit later so we could eat out in the evening, as it was better variety and quality and the portions are much more generous than the hotel. Czechs don't go in for a lot of vegetables, but we found a lovely restaurant in the Jewish quarter that did...
