Town Hall Square, Tallinn

Advantages: A pretty place to be
Disadvantages: Not really much to actually do

...Town Hall Square in Tallinn is quite obviously right beside the city?s Town Hall (otherwise it would be named very strangely). The square?s actual name though is Raekoja Plats, which is mainly used by locals and not tourists. The square itself can be found right in the middle of Old Town and is extremely hard to miss. Hostel Alur - a tempting option

Advantages: Good value, great location, clean modern rooms
Disadvantages: Cluttered kitchen and iffy fridges

...Old Town Hostel Alur is situated as the name suggests in Vana Tallinn - Old Tallinn. Well just about, it's within the old walls and is two minutes walk from the main square, Raekoja Plats. There are one or two hostels nearer the centre but it's nothing worth quibbling over. Alur's sign is rather modest and as it has no windows at eye level you could easily miss it.
