Massage and sir fry carapelli olive oil!!
Advantages: Great great dishes all the time
Disadvantages: can't think of any
...Love it , Love it , Love it!!! I use this oil everyday to stir fry my dishes and to massage my 5 month old baby!! Very insane, but works like magic!!! I was introduced to this fave of mine by a show off friend of mine like a year ago, and immidiately took to it. I use just tea spoonful of it while frying my veg and other stuff but the taste and flavour of it is just awesome. Well, as for using it for massage, My baby went overdue by two weeks and had really dry skin for a long time. I used johnsons baby oil, vaseline but they just didn't seem to work. His skin was peeling and flaking away really bad. I asked my midwife and she told me to try olive oil and since this one was the one in my cooking cupboard, I just went for it. It worked wonders!! My baby's skin cleared and turned really smooth within days!! I still use it to date...

Olive Oil
Advantages: Middle of the range - heart healthy, Purse Happy
Disadvantages: Are you using the right type of Oil
...Almost all of us now use olive oil in our cooking in some form, whether it be in sauces and dressings - or as a componant of Iltailan food.
It is basically a fruit oil - Olea europaea - coming from the Olive plant.
It is best know for it's uses in coking, however it also is used in cosmetics, medicines, soaps and in traditional oil lamps.
It is widely known as a "Heart Healthy" food. This is as

Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Advantages: finer flavour than other oils, healthier than other fats
Disadvantages: may be too strong if you are not used to extra virgin oil.
...Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the first press from italian olives. Like most olive oils extra virgin is the finest press and the best flavoured oil you can buy. Extra virgin however is not suitable for lots of cooking, the flavour can react with certain foods and make the taste somewhat bitter. Bertolli Extra Virgin compliments salads very well, i am fond of greek salads, so try Bertolli with nice crisp lettuce topped with fresh vine tomatoes and feta cheese, compliment the cheese with a sprinkle of chopped oregano and don't forget those delightful stuffed olives to give the salad an authentic greek taste, add a generous drizzle of Bertolli's and a fresh grounding of black pepper. Accompany with a piece of hot baked garlic bread, all washed down with a fine Greek white wine.
The Bertolli family have been pressing olives since...

Olive Oil, wheres Popeye!!
Advantages: versatile, lots of health benefits
Disadvantages: extra virgin is expensive
...There are many types of olive oil. The first pressing from the olives is known as the Extra Virgin olive oil. This is very low in acid and contains the maximum goodness and is thicker than the other olive oils this is why it is the most expensive of all the oils.
After the first pressing you get the Virgin olive oil which is high in acidity then the regular olive oil. This is quite often blended with other oils.
Most of the olive oils that are available come from Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece.
Olives originated from Crete 5 ? 7 thousand years ago.
Olive oil is mild on the intestines it is also beneficial for heart diease, thrombosis, asthma, colon cancer, hot flushes and to help lower cholesererol. It has also got anti- inflammatory properties and is a good antioxidant. It can help protect against free radicals.
Olive oil is high...

Bertolli Olive Oil
Advantages: Taste, easily obtainable
Disadvantages: higher cost, will you notice the taste distinctions?
...Like me you may question the need for brand names in olive oil - after all, oil is oil?! and to a certain extent you're right.
For most of us (and I include myself in this bracket!) use of this kind of oil is nearly always alongside some other "flavour", which removes any distinctiveness of a given brand. If this is the case then like me your purchasing is probably simply based on price and value for money.
However if you have a cultured palate, or are very choosy about your olive oils, then Bertolli extra virgin olive oil does make a good choice. Price-wise its not too steep, and taste-wise it does the job. If you have a really refined and delicate palate then there are other oils which do the job and provide a more refined taste, but if you're looking for an easily obtainable, quality olive oil, with good flavours at a reasonable...

Virgin in need of oiling
Advantages: healthier, full and fresh olive flavour, perfect consistency, enriches flavour of foods, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: none that I can think of
...Both of my parents are Greek Cypriot, needless to say olives, and in particular olive oil has been in my life for as long as I remember. My Grandmother who is in her late 80's swears by it for all different forms of use from contemporary religious reasons to skin care. It has also been said more recently that good Olive Oil acts like a painkiller and there are many health benefits to gain from using Olive Oil as it contains several forms of antioxidants and vitamins such as vitamin E, Vitamin A and Vitamin K whilst at the same time, it doesn't contain hydrogenated fats that we read and hear about in news stories which are bad for the body. In its place are good monounsaturated fatty acids. It can help to reduce high cholesterol in some people with the help of the antioxidants and it can when used to cook a balanced diet also help to...

My husband likes an extra virgin ...........oil

...Bertolli oil.
Do you like an extra virgin olive oil? My husband does and so do I. Bertoli make cery good extra virgin oil they also make Gentille oil, extra light oil and a Classico olive oil
In 1869 Francesco Bertolli and his wife Caterina had a small shop in Lucca Tuscany here they sold their olive oil. Bertolli olive oil was not available in England till 2001. Bertolli is now a unilever brand.
. Francesco Bertolli and his wife Caterina began producing and selling olive oil in 1865 from their small shop in Lucca, Tuscany.
Bertolli olive oils were launched in the UK in 2001 and
The extra virgin costs £3.49p for 500ml in Tesco's the £6.98 per litre buy the extra. A litre bottle costs £7.39. Think I shall but 2 500ml bottles instead of 1, 1 litre bottle. the extra gentile virgin for £2.66p for the 500 bottle...

My conversion to Bertolli Olive oil!
Advantages: Way too many to list!!
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive!!
...I love olive oil!!! I discovered olive oil while at uni; until a friend introduced me to the wonders of cooking with it I had been using a cheap brand of sun flower oil. I have quite stupidly believed that any type of oil did the same job to the same standard, I thought the people who purchased fancy brands of olive oil, simply did so because they like the bottle and brand label......HOW VERY WRONG I WAS!!! After trying a dish of vegetables roasted in olive oil and marinated in spices, I was a true convert. The food tasted of a higher calibre and was not nearly as greasy as if it had been cooked with my old sunflower oil.
Since discovering olive oil I have experimented with many different brands and found that Bertolli has come out consistently as the best...Why?
It's reasonably priced, olive oil is more expensive then other types...

Popeye loves Bertolli Olive Oil
Advantages: Excellent flavour, good colour
Disadvantages: Can be pricey, look out for special offers!
...In the days of growing health concerns about high fat diets and the long term consequences this will bring, Olive Oil is a product that surelymore and more people are now going to look to turn to. It has a distinct flavoour to it, and does not taste as greasy as alternatives such as vegetable or even sunflower oil. Whilst Bertolli may be quite expensive, the healthy factor means that it provides excellent value. I tend to find that one of the 'big four' supermarkets usually has some kind of special offer on it, be it a 2 for one or a half price. (It just needs a bit of shopping about on the internet. Iv'e just checked and at the moment it's only £2.52 in Sainsbury's compared to £3.79 in Tesco and Morrison's). At this price, it is well worth buying over a supermarket brand, (usually about £2.50). Bertolli's Olive Oil itself is high...

Napolina Garlic Flavoured Olive Oil
Advantages: Add garlic flavour to dishes without having garlic
Disadvantages: Small bottle
...I have just bought a bottle of this olive oil after reading the other review of it on Ciao. I love Italian food and of course olive oil, and I also like garlic so this product appealed to me, it cost £0.98p for a small 125ml bottle.
Upon opening the bottle the smell of garlic was very strong. I used some with a simple Italian dish I made 'spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino' which is spaghetti with garlic, olive oil and chilli, although this was great because I didn't actually have any garlic to use so the product came in very useful.
Like the smell, the taste is quite pungently garlic but in a nice way, I found the use of this oil in place of actual garlic to be ideal, the dish was very tasty. I would tend to use this oil on pasta dishes or in cooking and wouldn't use it for example as a salad dressing, but there are other...
