Customer services
Review of Olivetti JP-192 by
paulloney
Advantages: Great customer services
Disadvantages: jp192 needs to be improved
...I recently bought a olivetti jp192 at staples warehouse. After six weeks it became faulty with the paper going into the printer at an angle which caused the paper to jam due to one of the rollers not working. I rang up staples about the printer, They told me to ring up olivetti which I done.
I explained to customer servies about my fault on the printer, They told me to take all the leads out and the ink printhead, A courrier will bring you a replacement out and collect your faulty printer tomorrow. They arrived the day they said they would.I was very pleased how olivetti customer servives handled my complait. Its a pitty that the printer wasn't as good as it's customer services.
The printer needs to be improved to stop faults from happening, I am not the only person that has a faulty Olivetti jp 192....

Review of Olivetti JP-192
Review of Olivetti JP-192 by
Irvine
Advantages: cheap, small, light
Disadvantages: high running cost, only holds one cartridge
...If I were to recommend the Olivetti JP-192 to anyone it would only be because someone was pointing a gun at my head. This printer is incredibly slow, especially when printing in colour. I also found it incredibly difficult to find print cartridges for this printer and when I did find them they were extremely expensive. Although the initial cost of this printer is low the running costs are high as the cartridges are expensive and, as they run out quickly, you have to buy them on a regular basis. Unfortunately, the Olivetti JP-192 only holds one cartridge at a time so if you want to print a document using both colour and monochrome you have to switch them about which is both irritating and time consuming. If you use the colour cartridge to print black objects such as text you end up with a sort of reddish tint and it therefore becomes...

Good value for money
Review of BT Paperjet 60 by
izzwizz
Advantages: Reliable call answering with built in answerphone
Disadvantages: Paper handling leaves a lot to be desired
...The BT Paperjet 60 is a fax machine with built in answerphone and can be used as a basic A4 photocopier.
FEATURES
This machine offers good quality inkjet printing with a 40 sheet feeder. If you run out of paper while receiving a fax, up to 21 pages will be stored in the momory and automatically printed when new paper is added. This is very useful if you have a few days off!
Can also be used to make single or multiple copies of documents and has enlarge and reduce features on the copying function. There are one touch and speed dial memory options on the telephone.
Comes with a starter print cartridge that lasted us approx 300 pages of faxes. The replacement cartridges from BT are very expensive, but this fax machine is identical to an Olivetti version which uses the same print cartridges. The Olivetti cartridges are a lot cheaper than...

Lexmark Z32 ink jet printer
Review of Lexmark Z 11 Color Jetprinter by
yorkie2
Advantages: Excellent quality printing
Disadvantages: Cartridges a bit pricy unless you shop around.
...After plodding along for 4 1/2 years with a old olivetti JP 170s I treated myself to a Lexmark Z32 ink jet printer. It was like trading in a banger for a Rolls Royce.
The Lexmark Z32 was easy to install via manufactures cd rom and run very quietly indeed. It cost me £119 via mail order.
It will print 8 pages of text per minute at 600dpi and although colour takes a bit longer the quality is excellent.
I print off alot of pictures from the net for my wife and when using glossy paper at 1200dpi the finished product is equal to the real thing. So good we have framed several.
The paper storage will hold up to 100 sheets depending on thickness.
The instruction manual was set out very simply with all of the instructions very easy to follow.
The cartridges are a bit pricy at around £25 BUT after searching the net I found compatable cartridges...

cheapness at a price
Review of Olivetti JP-192 by
lipgloss
Advantages: basic
Disadvantages: basic
...Olivetti JP192 black/mono printer is a cheap to buy printer, that is lightweight and easy to use. I got it for just under £55 on sale.
The ink, however, is a different matter, being well over £20 a cartridge/printhead. Also on the down side is the print quality and lack of convenience. Only one printhead can be used at a time, so the colour or black that is taken out must be stored in the little container provided, and you must keep changing them as needed. Although this process does only take a minute, and is very obvious and easy to do.
The printing is slow, and the colour images produced are very poor at times.
I did not get this printer looking for superior print quality. I just wanted a cheap printer that would hopefully be cheap to run and to replace when the time came. It is mostly for text printing; essays and the like.
I...

Angels And Demons
Review of Angels and Demons - Dan Brown by
mak_the_judge
Advantages: Topical, gripping, twisting plot
Disadvantages: some similar characters to other Dan Brown Books
.... Characters are almost the same in both books, Fache is similar to Olivetti , Sauniere to Vettra, Silas to the Hassasin, and Vittoria to Sophie.
That said i am strongly of the opinion that this is slightly better than its more famous "brother".
Enjoy

The last Printer with a Parallel port...
Review of Epson Stylus C64 by
Eyedontknow
Advantages: Stylish, quiet and a Parallel port !
Disadvantages: Tricky installation
...Panic ! Panic ! I needed a new printer for my 386 to print out CVs only to find that the Olivetti supplied with my PC had given up the ghost. No problem I thought. I'll just get a new low cost printer from one of the high street retailers. A quick look on the internet for a low cost printer with a parallel port quickly revealed USB. USB everywhere ! The familiar parallel port that I had virtually grown up with had disappeared. Luckily Epson came to the rescue. They seem to have the only low cost inkjet printer on the market with a parallel port [and USB].
I found the cheapest supplier of the Epson C64 to be Comet £61.09 [inc. VAT]. I bought it on-line and it had free delivery and promptly arrived 2 days later.
Installation on the Epson hardware was simple and straight forward. Installation of the software was a bit trickier. After...

Good value budget printer, but a bit slow
Review of Epson Stylus Color 440 by
davidbuttery
Advantages: Cheap, good colour printing, easy to buy carts
Disadvantages: Takes ages to start up, poor DOS support
...I've had this printer for about a year now, and am pretty happy with it. The major attraction was the Epson name, with which you can be pretty sure you're not buying junk.
For such a cheap printer, colour printing is surprisingly good, even on fairly cheap paper. Mind you, I'm comparing it to my awful old Olivetti, which didn't have a separate black ink nozzle, and just mixed up the other three colours...
By far the most annoying feature of the 440 is the interminable wait for it to start up. It makes all the usual whirrs and grinds you expect when a printer does it's head-cleaning act, but it goes on, and on, and on. I've never timed it, but it feels like eternity.
Still, if you're still awake after all that, you'll find that it's a nice little machine. It does its job efficiently and without fuss, and doesn't get stuck. Black...

Cheapest Ink Jet Cartridges in the UK
Review of Member Advice on Inkjet Cartridge Refills by
davegroom
Advantages: Cheap Prices, Online Ordering, Wide Range Of Products
Disadvantages: Refill Cartridges are not genuine, but they produce the same standard as one
...Hi,
Are you sick and tired of paying out over priced inkjet cartridges?? most cartridges cost around £20. Ink2u.co.uk saves you a lot of money, for example an Epson Colour cartridge refill costs only £5.49 including postage and packaging!
Refill inkjet cartridges are simply a genuine cartridge that has been refilled with ink once. The quality is still the same it is just a cheaper alternative than buying the real full price cartridge.
I buy all my cartridges from Ink2u for my Epson Stylus Colour 640. As a student I am always looking for cheaper products to buy as I have to budget what I spend. Now that I don’t have to spend out that extra money I am saving quite a lot each month.
These are the following products that Ink2u currently supply:
· Cannon
· Compaq
· Epson
· Hewlett Packard
· Lexmark
· Olivetti
· Samsung
· Xerox
Whatever...
