Olympus quality
Review of Olympus CAMEDIA C 220Zoom by
LiveToTheFulL
Advantages: stylish, easy to use
Disadvantages: no internal memory
...a sylish camera which needs the user to slide the cover back and then the excitement will start...
The lens will come out and the flash will pop up from the top. If the flash is not required then all the user would have to do is press on the flash down inside the camera.
To view the pictures there is a little screen on the back. the screen is a resonable quality and the menu is easy to learn.
If you are someone who takes a lot of pictures you would need a large SM card. 512MB is sufficient for me but bigger ones are available. Viewing the pictures on the screen does limit the battery power but you would still have anough power to fill many photo albums...

Small can mean large
Review of Olympus M-XD 512 XD CARD XD 512 512 MB by
Kingseany
Advantages: Tiny, Large capacity
Disadvantages: Easy to lose, more expensive than other formats
...XD Picture Cards are a fairly recent introduction to the memory card market. Developed by Olympus and Fuji, these tiny cards can store hundreds of megabytes of information (or images). When I say tiny, I mean, you could probably easily swallow one - although it's better to put them into a camera instead. If you get out your ruler, you'll see that the card is 20mm x 25mm x 1.7mm, with a weight of only 2 grams - you could almost stick one on a letter and post it.
Don't let the physical size put you off though, as capacties are ranged from small 16Mb or 32Mb cards (typically bundled with cameras) up to much larger 512Mb and now 1Gb, released earlier this year. If you think this is big, let me tell you that capacties up to 8Gb will be possible in the not too distant future. This is due to the multi-level cell (MLC) technology, which...

Testing the Olympus, 1, 2 ,3 ...
Review of Olympus WS-310M 512 MB by
Lofnorsk
Advantages: Great storage, wireless and portable, no tapes!
Disadvantages: Takes AAA batteries which expire fast, not well thought out.
...Dictaphones and voice recorders are not something that everybody uses and are usually bought to perform specific tasks, so they have to perform well.
At a glance the Olympus is not something i find particularly aesthetically pleasing, but this is an unimportant aspect of what is overall an excellent product. The colour is decribed as "champagne gold" but don't let the elegance fool you- the internal memory of the device stores up to 138 hours of recording time (in WMA file format), or 512MB. Some would argue that for a device which can be used as an MP3 player, this does not match up to the competition. But the Olympus is a voice recorder first and foremost and in this field it certainly scores points for memory.
Created in two parts which slot together, once seperated the Olympus plugs directly into your computers USB port...

A powerful spec.....literally
Review of Olympus µ-mini DIGITAL S by
WireStyle
Advantages: Variation of modes
Disadvantages: Only 4MP
...This sleek designed camera is one of those gadgets that you want to have, like the iPod. Although it has a fairly small number of pixels, the quality is almost unbeatable.
For a small price, this camera packs a large 8x digital zoom and a 2x optical zoom which maintain the quality when enlarged. The LCD is cool, and the menu is incredibly simple to use. Even as a beginner like me you will find no trouble using it. When lightly pressing down the button, the picture focuses untill you press it harder and it will then capture it.
Not only has it got a stunning design and a wide variety of modes (portrait, night scene, cuisine, behind glass, indoor, sunset firework and about 10 more)it also records videos. Unfortunately this a weak feature for the "Olympus µ[MJU:] mini " because its capability at saving is around 15 minutes on my 512mb x...

Olympus CAMEDIA C460 after 12 months use.
Review of Olympus CAMEDIA C 460ZOOM by
nickward1
Advantages: Excellent Build Quality, Durability, Good Screen and Good Picture Quality
Disadvantages: Small Memory Card As Standard
.... The only downside of this setting is only being able to fit 5 images on the supplied 16mb XD card (this is upgradeable though by buying extra XD cards up too a maximum of 512mb)
The 1.8" LCD view screen is very clear with a good resolution and is more than usable to view you photographs.
The camera is PictBridge enabled for use with supported printers although I have been unable to test that.
The overall design and ease of use is very good and I have had no problems accessing any features.
Disadvantages:
The supplied 16mb memory card is not very big with the following amount of images fitting on the card:
2,288 x 1712 SHQ = 5 images
2,288 x 1712 HQ = 16 images
600 x 1200 SQ1 = 32 images
640 x 480 SQ2 = 65 images
On the highest setting 5 images is not many and so I would recommend buying a larger capacity xd card I personally have a 256mb xd...

A brilliant card with plenty of capacity
Review of Olympus XD CARD 1024 MB by
alimason
Advantages: more than enough photos
Disadvantages: only really useable in cameras
...Out of the 3 cards i own this is by far the best. It is easy to use has plenty of capacity and i think it is more compatible with my camera than the other branded XD cards.
But first just a few statistics: if you have a 5, 6, 7, 8 or 10 mega pixel camera this card will hold 815, 675, 570, 500 or 400 photos respectively, which is obviously double the capcity of a 512mb card. You are also able to store at least 18 minutes of video on this card (best quality with sound) and at poorer qualities without sound you are able to hold nearly four hours. In terms of size and weight this card is no bigger than any other XD card and is smaller than other model cards such as compact flash, in fact it can be compared in size to a penny.
From my personal experience i have found this card to be perfect in terms of capacity. I have taken it on many...

Top camera for the novice or advanced photographer
Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] 410 Digital by
Ardeth666
Advantages: Compact, lightweight, good quality, loads of functions, weather-resistant
Disadvantages: Too many functions?
...I recently bought this camera from amazon for about £150, this was the best price i could find it for, most other shops were retailing it at about £200, thats quite a difference!
Anyway, I`ve had it a little while now and i am very pleased with it, And would certainly recommend it to others.
The thing i like about this camera are the fact that you can take movie clips on it, and record the sound aswell (alot of cameras only record the visual). The memory card you get with it is 32mb, not a bad size for the "free" card included in the sale. Although you may want to get a larger memory card (i`ve just got a 512mb card from ebay for £50). The type of memory card is an xd made by either olympus or fujifilm, they are both the same so it doesn`t matter which! The camera shoots photos in upto 4million pixels. The fact that the camera...

Why buy a Fuji Finepix F610?
Review of Fujifilm FinePix F610 by
shotgun_norman
Advantages: Simple to use and transfer to Computer
Disadvantages: Mode selector switch can be a bit fiddly
...camera i have owned, i have previously only ever used Olympus digital cameras but i can confidently say that this camera is just as easy if not easier to use and it has many more added functions that the equivalent priced Olympus + a much high mega pixel rating.
For optimal results i would recommend that you upgrade to a 256 or 512MB xD memory card, i have brought a 512MB card from ASDA for £49.99 and i can now store over 1000 photos (that is more than i will ever need!)
Trust me, exceptional functionality + simplistic ease of use + good battery life + excellent picture quality + cheap price = the best camera available for the casual photographer!
By the Way, this camera is now for sale in Argos at £175!
Anyway people good luck with your camera buying, i hope that this review is of use to you....

~~EXTREME STORAGE FOR PHOTO HOBBYISTS~~
Review of Olympus HIGH Speed XD-Picture CARD 512 MB by
digitalenvironmentalist
Advantages: Could handle additional enhancement of the photos
Disadvantages: Quite little expensive than the normal XD photo cards
...where built-in slots are installed for such memory stick or picture card type. Unfortunately, I can not directly use the card to the memory slots in my Sony notebook for easy transfer without the use of USB drive and camera dock. Well, this is not a big issue.
LASTLY, this card also fits with my new imaging requirement which I could enhance the pictures using the panoramic and 3-dimentional (3D) features thru the Olympus Master companion software. However, for a 512 MB picture card memory, it is highly recommended to have extra batteries as back-up especially when you are traveling in remote areas where power source is limited for charging and re-formatting. For normal shooting mode (not using the close-up and flash), the battery can take up to 150-200 photos, which means for a 512 picture card, I have to use the battery 2-3 times. Summary...

Baby Mju
Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] Mini DIGITAL by
sonstar
Advantages: small/tidy/easy to use/light/movie & sound
Disadvantages: easy to break/screen doesnt switch off
...Hey there... just thought id write a quick review on this camera seen as though i have one!
I used to have the orindary mju beforehand - which was very technical full of amazing functions i never used... it was more for the professional photographer! And if you look at my homepage you will see i dont do professional photos - just random ones!
So i brought this baby mju - its like a fun version of the mummy mju!
Its soo small and compact and does everything i want it to, exceot i cannot turn the screen off so it wears the battery down low quite quick! So prepare to take your charger EVERYWHERE your camera goes!! Well its not quite that bad... it would last a day of shooting im sure!
I have a 512mb memory card in my camera with images set to 1024x720! This works out brilliant as i get good quality piccies and i can store 2000...
