At a glance the Olympus is not something i find particularly aesthetically pleasing, but this is an unimportant aspect of what is overall an excellent product. The colour is decribed as "champagne gold" but don't let the elegance fool you- the internal memory of the device stores up to 138 hours of recording time (in WMA file format), or 512MB. Some would argue that for a device which can be used as an MP3 player, this does not match up to the competition. But the Olympus is a voice recorder first and foremost and in this field it certainly scores points for memory. ...XD Picture Cards are a fairly recent introduction to the memory card market. Developed by Olympus and Fuji, these tiny cards can store hundreds of megabytes of information (or images). When I say tiny, I mean, you could probably easily swallow one - although it's better to put them into a camera instead. If you get out your ruler, you'll see that the card is 20mm x 25mm x 1.7mm, with a weight of only 2 grams - you could almost stick one on a letter and post it. Don't let the physical size put you off though, as capacties are ranged from small 16Mb or 32Mb cards (typically bundled with cameras) up to much larger 512Mb and now 1Gb, released earlier this year. ...If you purchase the xbox arcade console then you will get one of these 512mb memory units free with the console. However if you opt to go for either the premium console or the elite console you will get the main hard drive for free and will have less need for these. These small memory units are both advantageous as they are small and compact and suitable for certain tings. However they are on the other hand quite pathetic compared to the 20gb or 120gb hard drives which are also available on the market. I currently own both a 20gb hard drive and one of these 512mb memory units as well. ...So the SanDisk SD flash memory card 512MB. Well as a start like most memory cards these days , its nice and small ( perfect for getting lost if your not careful). Despite its size its nice and long lasting ( well mines still alive anyway..or it was the last time i used it) you get a ncie handy case, you know incase you like accidently sit on it or something. So 512MB , its a pretty good amount of memory for camera use , but if you really do like to get out there and basicly film your entire life, you\'d probably be better off with more memory, i recomend the 1gb or 2gb sandisk memory card. So what a lovely shade of blue, hmm, yes its a bit boring compared to other memory cards, but what do you expect, half the time you cant see it anyway because its inside a device. It has a volume function up and down and a lock button all on one side. ...Lexar JumpDrive Secure ll is a USB flash drive with a good 512mb storage capacity. It boasts plug-and play functionality, allowing you to pop it into any usb drive on a mac, pc or server and drag and drop files 'to and fro' as desired. (Ease of access depends on the o/s you have installed, i use both OSX10 and vista, both work great!) Now 512mb isn't exactly the king as storages spaces go (you can get upto 8gb now!!!) but its perfect if you only transfer the smaller files such as word docs, the odd song or two. If you are moving larges directories then this isn't for you and would recommend you look at the size of file/directory you have and purchase accordingly. Perfect for the school/college user and you can pick them up for around £5.00 give or take a penny or two, so it is hardly a wallet burner. Lexar is a well trusted... Read review

...I really wanted an MP3 player. At the time the mobile phone MP3 players were pointless due to lack of space, being bulky, and basically rubbish quality meant a portable MP3 player for any music listener was a must. Looking around, there's always going to be the cheap gadgets on the market. I try and stay away for them because, even if they do what it says on the box, the actual quality of the amp on them is usually very bad quality, and they usually have poor battery life, which means charging them for longer than you're actually listening to them. However, Philips have a good reputation, so when the Philips GoGear 512MB Player came on at a good price, I thought why not? And I haven't looked back. ...For a while i considered buying an iPod but have been detered by the size,wieght and price of the iPods that were currently out at the time,so for me it was ideal when the iPod shuffle was introduced. The iPod boasts at being only 0.78 ounces and just 0.33 inches thin,so was ideal for what i was looking for in terms of weight and size. Although 512 Mb is not as much as the shuffles predecessors, for my own use, (ie. traveling to and from work,running,going to the gym) it was enough to hold all my favourite songs. The part I found daunting was setting my PC with the relevent software, but my worries were unfounded as the instructions were very clear and I found it very easy to set up.
