Olympus MJU 770 SW

Advantages: water-proof, drop-proof, shock-proof and takes great pictures
Disadvantages: lens in top left corner so wouldn't suit those with huge hands

...I bought this about 8 weeks ago from clickto.co.uk for just over £225 including delivery, and I haven't stopped smiling since it arrived The olympus MJU 770 SW is a fabulous camera in every way, it's small, light, waterproof, drop proof, and you can stand on it if you so wish as long as you are under 100 kilograms I bought it to travel with and spent many a happy day snorkelling in hurghada recently, it takes simply stunning underwater shots and I can not recommend it highly enough the batter life is very reasonable, shot time is quick, display bright and clear in fact the only negative point would only affect those with big hands, sometimes your finger may obscure the lens as it's in the top left corner so you need to be aware of finger placement but apart from that it's a fantastic camera and I can't see me changing mine...

A winner from Olympus

Advantages: All weather build, great results
Disadvantages: No remote

...I am planning to do some touring on my cycle and required a camera that not only was lightweight and weather-proof but also took reasonable quality photos. I used to take a Leica M4-P with a Summilux 35mm lens on such journeys It requires no batteries and has been submerged in puddles more than once and survived. However the cost of roll film is now a becoming drawback. Digital photography has the main advantage of disposible imagery but the disadvantages of being subject to water damage and always requiring battery power (when camping the opportunities for recharging are probably zero) I already have an Olympus E-510 with a 14-54mm zoom lens that produces good quality pics, but is not puddle-proof. Non worry camera!!

Advantages: hard wearing durable - will go anywhere
Disadvantages: have to charge the battery out of the camera as standard

...This camera is a fantastic item for those of you who wnat a really hardwearing durable camera that you are not constantly worrying about - this one lies in puddles of beer at rugby parties and gets thrown about at the beach. It has even been put in a pint!! The pictures we have taken when we read the instructions and worked out the settings have been great. The flash is a little bright and gives a little red eye, but the sw that comes with it removes that at a click. the battery is a rechargeable "cameras own" but the lifetime seems great so far and you do get a warning in the corner keeping you up to date. There was no card in the box but there is a small memory in the cmaera itself - you can always get a deal or find a card on the web. I have an SL-r camera and have owned a small Canon in the past but for a handbag size camera...

ISO sensitivity expresses the speed of photographic negative material, it is the ISO equivalent that is given since digital cameras do not use films but image sensors. In fact ISO denotes the sensitivity of the image sensor to the amount of light it is exposed to. Which gives a fair idea of the quality of pictures at low light. It affects the shutter speed/aperture combination that can be use to get the right exposer. It is quite possible that that digital camera light meter gives you a warning signal that the light is not good enough for correct exposer of the scene, you will more often than not grope...

A poor offering from Olympus

Advantages: Takes AAA batteries and....er.....er...hmmmm.... takes AAA batteries
Disadvantages: Awful screen, not user friendly, feels cheap and nasty, made out of inferior materials etc. etc.

...Getting fed up with constantly having to buy new batteries for our Wii remotes, we started looking into buying some of the rechargeable battery packs you can buy for them. I read a few reviews and decided that it would probably be better to buy a battery charger and a few sets of batteries instead. After looking around I found the Sony High Capacity Super Quick Charger For AA And AAA Batteries and for £16.99 with four AA batteries included it seemed like a good deal, almost all of our electrical items seem to be Sony so with it being a brand we trusted I bought it.
