Olympus 8X25 WP I

Advantages: Image adjustments to give great view, waterproof, adjustable eye-relief
Disadvantages: fixed magnification, average build and design quality

...Binoculars are mainly used by bird watchers as to get a closer look at them. Many people also use binoculars for occasions such as holidays where they travel to destinations of natural beauty. Using a binocular enables them to see the scenic beauty from a better and closer perspective. The Olympus 8X25 WPI is labeled professional, but can obviously be used by everyday and ordinary people. These particular binoculars have an 8x magnification ability. This is simply the power of magnification on the binoculars, the 8x magnification means that the object or area you view through the binoculars is going to appear 8x larger or closer. The 8x magnification also means that this is the maximum and minimum magnification power of the binoculars. You cannot view an object or place with a lesser or higher magnification than 8x. If in...

Olympus

Advantages: many
Disadvantages: None

...This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need. Other Features: 8.0 Megapixel CCD imager 3x optical (35 - 105mm 35mm equiv) zoom, 4x digital zoom Digital Image Stabilization and Built-in Help Guide TruePic TURBO Image Processor 2.5" color LCD and 10x playback zoom 16 shooting modes including AVI Motion...

A poor offering from Olympus

Advantages: Takes AAA batteries and....er.....er...hmmmm.... takes AAA batteries
Disadvantages: Awful screen, not user friendly, feels cheap and nasty, made out of inferior materials etc. etc.

.... The picture quality is terrible, even when you do get a reasonable shot, and I have to admit that my other half?s Kodak Easy share, with its massive 6.2 mega pixels, takes better pictures and the quality is not marginally better, it is much better. One thing I found very annoying about the X-42 is the screen. Whilst it is large it is the worst screen I have ever used in my life. Unless the light was perfect it was impossible to see what you were actually taking a picture of, which was made even harder by the non-existent view-finder, and this happened in both light and dark conditions. Trying to shield the screen was pointless as it did little good. My first digital camera, purchased over 8 years ago, was an Olympus that used XD picture cards, instead of the more common SD cards, and I never understood why. I thought that Olympus would...

Olympus VN 960 PC

Advantages: Tiny, sensitive microphone, incredible battery life
Disadvantages: Software provided isn't too good, no pause button

...I bought this digital dictaphone about a month ago to help me when it came to revising lectures at university. The size of it is so small that it can easily be hidden in a pencil case, and the microphone is so sensitive that it can even pick up the lecturer's voice when sitting halfway back in a massive lecture theatre. Battery life on this machine is incredible - it only uses two AAA's which last for well over 10 hours recording. The software it comes with doesn't agree too well with my Windows XP - it keeps asking me for the installation CD every time I plug it in to transfer the .WAV files to my PC. That's another disadvantage - I needed to download a .WAV to .MP3 converter software, because 20 hours of lectures a week ended up taking up quite a meaty chunk of my hard drive in little time. Overall, I'd thoroughly recommend...

OLYMPUS VN-3100

Advantages: Record upto 36 hours, digital sound quality, compact device with mic
Disadvantages: Microphone not as effective as I thought

.... The OLYMPUS VN-3100 is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/VISTA. To use the device it is recommended to install the required software with the provided CD. Install the CD by following the simple instructions, it will take you about 5-10 minutes to install the software depending on the speed of your computers processor. The devices software will not be installed on your desktop, but instead in your list of programs under the name OLYMPUS DIGITAL WAVE PLAYER. Once the software has been installed, connect the device to your PC or laptop via the provided USB cable. Your computer may come up with a message stating that you need to install driver software, do not ignore the message and accept driver software installation. After the driver software has been installed you will be able to transfer your sound recordings onto your PC or laptop...

Olympus - the peak of cameras

Advantages: Superb Quality
Disadvantages: Expensive and big compared to the compacts

...shine through. You can get a flower in perfect focus, while the surrounding area is blurred and atmospheric. Digital SLRs have managed to combine all of what an ordinary SLR can do, with the technology and wizardry of the digital age. So you have no film to buy; you store on to a memory card; you can edit and delete photos in the camera; you can transfer them to a computer, and then you can use the photo programmes to further enhance your photo before printing - eg remove the red eyes. It has its own built in flash, and a shoe for using more complex flash arrangements. It has an LCD screen to view your image once it's taken, and the same screen, 2.5", also allows you to see all the different settings available. The Olympus e-400 shares all those general features with its rivals. 3 The Specials xxxxxxxxxxxx Olympus has...

Olympus FE-3010

Advantages: slim, high quality photos
Disadvantages: loads slow, blurs are common

...2 weeks ago i bought the Olympus FE-3010 because of it is very cheap considering advanced features. 1.)Physical Appearance It has 2.7-inch LCD screen Super-slim (0.7-inch thick) metal body compatible with xD Picture Cards and microSD memory cards. The appearance is nice and comes in three colors: pink, black and silver. I own the pink one. the only problem i have with the apperance is the big "fe" written in the lower left corner of the camera. 2.) 12-megapixel resolution: This digital camera gives poster-sized superb quality photos which i personally appreciate. When I transferred the pictures in my computer it is very beautiful you can see all details in the photograph specially when you set the shoot mode to full 12 megapixel resolution and fine shots. 3.) 3x optical zoom: I was hoping for 5x optical zoom but for the price the 3x...

Sleek and sexy OLYMPUS

Advantages: Great image Quality, terrific design, very easy to use
Disadvantages: none

...This Olympus FE-5000 with Resolution: 10 Megapixels, Optical Zoom: 5x and LCD: 2.7" with 16 shooting modes is a remarkable piece of equipment. it is sleek and stylish and will fit easily in your pocket. This is one of the cheaper digital cameras from the world famous brand. It has a great lens, which really helps in low light conditions. Its lens can capture light very efficiently. flash is pretty powerful for its size. Overall i would say if you have the budget to get one of these and you don't want to compromise the quality of your pictures, don't hesitate just go for it. Here's something that might interest you: All shutter delay times were about standard. A single photo took 0.32 seconds while five clocked 15.08 seconds. With flash, times were 0.55 seconds for one photo and 16.09 seconds for five. That's pretty good wouldn...

...with a lot of other modes, including a spectacular fashion, sports, portrait, sunset, behind glass, cuisine, documents, and Smile Shot. There is no manual control in this fully automatic. If you want to take pictures at night, choose the speed is automatically set up to 4 seconds. Like some other models from Olympus, the FE-370 camera has two macro mode. Macro function, which is not large, with close to 20 cm and 60 cm wide, at the corner of a telephoto lens. Super macro mode is much better with a concentration of up to 3 cm, but the lenses are locked in wide in this mode. Camera Olympus FE-370, the average movie mode with VGA resolution of 640 x 480 size of video clips with sound at 30 fps. Olympus E-30. Still not up there with the big boys?

Advantages: Fold out LCD screen, Image Stabilization, Zuiko lens quality, Picture quality, Flash options
Disadvantages: Noise in low light, Too many buttons, Badly laid out, Too many gimmicks

...The E-30 is Olympus's own stepping-stone between the so-called "prosumer" models (what an awful word) and the E-3 professional SLR, being loosely comparable with the likes of the Canon EOS 50D, the Nikon D90 and the Sony Alpha A-350. It shares a lot of the E-3's features and has even overtaken the E-3 in terms of resolution, offering 12mp compared with the E-3's 10. Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on your opinion - some of its features are things that serious photographers don't really want on their cameras and definitely push the E-30 towards the hobby photographers rather than the professionals. The E-30 doesn't share the E-3's weatherproof casing, in fact it is built from a plastic/fibre-glass composite material, which helps to keep the weight down and, surprisingly to me, doesn't make it feel cheap. It does look...
