Olympus C-765 Ultra Zoom

Advantages: Easy to use, fantastic picture quality

...I have had the Olympus C-765 camera for just over a year. I find it very easy to use with a good amount of features. This model has the ultra zoom and also a digital zoom. I travel alot and this camera takes some amazing quality pictures. I find it useful for taking pictures of wildlife, as you can zoom in from quite a distance and get superb quality in the picture. This camera has 10 x zoom and 40 x Seamless zoom. It is a 4 megapixel camera. The whole camera package, which included the camera, camera case, 2 batteries, batery charger, instruction manual, mini tripod coz me £170 but this was 1 year ago so I should think the price may have come down a bit since then. You can view all your pictures on a small screen on the back of the camera which is useful while you are away on holiday as you can scan through your photos...

Advantages: Easy to use if I can use it
Disadvantages: No Rechargeable Batteries

...The Olympus Camedia C-460 Zoom: My Review for the Olympus C-460 :) I got the Olympus Camedia C-460 from Curry's, I paid about £170 for it. I was very cheeky and said "what do I get if I buy it from here" they asked me what did I mean and told them "I wanted a bigger memory card free" after a bit of haggling I got the 512 meg card for a £10, They was selling them for £30. If you don't ask you will never know, I got a pc for a friend from Comet about 2 years ago and got them a printer free :) I got home and the first thing i found as with a lot of cameras etc was no batteries. Why or why do they just not put the price up by £10 and add the rechargeable packs? Lets get on with it....The box is nice and has loads of information on it. User friendly Olympus Camedia C 725 Ultra Zoom

Advantages: Easy to use & very light
Disadvantages: Poor auto focus & Very heavy battery consumption

...I found the Olympus Camedia C 725 a very easy camera to use, also I liked the small compact memory cards ( M-XD256P XD CARD) which are easily installed into the camera just by pushing into the memory card slot. I did notice that the auto focus mode was very poor and that you had to take 3 or 4 shots of a subject to get a clear crisp image, although having a large memory card did compensate for this problem. I also found that the camera was unbelievably heavy on battery consumption to the point of having to change the 4AA battteries before filling 2 thirds of the memory card (with view panel turned off), the only option to solve this problem is to have 8 rechargeable batteries on hand. The design of the camera is very user friendly although the quality feels cheap, I found the hinges to the panel for the computer cable socket had...

..., just make sure you have good sources of light as in dark settings it just doesn't pick up light. Outside or inside with good amounts of light the picture quality is pretty good though, good for video blogging or capturing memories quickly which is what I do. The zoom is very good as well, there is no zoom for the video feature though. I bet there is so much more it could do this contraption but I just take pictures of my family & friends and pictures of the country, and I think it works as well as anything for my uses, I'm totally satisfied. ...Back in early 2005 I was looking for a good digital camera with as much 'real' optical zoom as possible (rather than just digital zoom). I didn't have the funds for a DSLR so I went down the compact digital route. After a lot of web searches and price comparisons I chose the C725. Overall, I like the camera and it has served me fairly well over the past 3 years. Plus points: It has a good feel in the hand and the weight isn't excessive. I think it looks smart too. The majority of the controls become second nature and once you have set up your custom settings, it doesn't need much altering. I have taken some lovely photos with this camera. The lens is pretty nice for its size. 8x optical zoom is still a notable feature to this day on a camera of this class. The super HQ is nice, fine pixel quality and correctly exposed shots...

...several preset set-ups for various types of photo, such as scenes, portraits, night shots etc. The camera has a nice feel to it and is not so small that hands get in the way. The camera comes with a disappointing 16MB storage card, which means that in the highest recording TIFF mode it will only store one frame, however this is up to 76 frames in the lowest JPEG recording mode. There are available 128MB cards, which are about £45. You can get none Olympus cards slightly cheaper, but these do not accommodate the panorama feature offered by the camera. It also comes with 4 AA batteries, which I soon found lasted about a day and so I invested in a set of chargeable batteries and a fast 1 hour charger (£30). The lens cover is a bit plasticy and has to be removed before switching the camera on, which I don?t always remember to do...

...The C-310 Zoom is definitely a good camera for beginners. It provides easy access to simple picture taking, as well as having the ability to take short video clips. Furthermore, there are modes for landscape and self - portrait. The optical zoom function is also a plus - though it is only 3.2 megapixels, you have the equivalent of a 9mp camera with 3x digital zoom. The "Super Macro Mode" is probably the best feature of all. I've taken some professional - quality photos with it - you can get incredibly high detail very close up. The reason it only deserves 3 out of 5 are that it has several major drawbacks, the first of which is the battery life. It will last around 5 - 10 minutes with fresh, new batteries, and then will die. After only 5 minutes, it will begin to act oddly - the LCD will refuse to turn on, the responce is much...

Six months with the Olympus 765uz

Advantages: Superb zoom, Loads of features for price, Records movies with sound.
Disadvantages: Option menus not very intuative. Slightly too big to be called 'pocket' sized

...WHY DID I BUY THIS CAMERA? I had a budget of £250 to buy my first digital camera. As this was my first purchase I had no idea what to expect for the money and so spent hours reading reviews on the net. I live on a Scottish island and it is not easy touring camera shops trying out the different cameras. Eventually I narrowed the choice down to the Olympus 765uz. Why? - Excellent value for a 4 megapixel camera with high grade 10x optical zoom lense, highly rated picture quality, and functions/options which were always rated as better than similar offerings by other manufacturers.
