Features the SSWF Dust Reduction system that cleans the sensor every time the camera is switched on. Startup is still reasonably quick. Non OE infra-red remote control units for the Olympus E-410 are incredibly cheap....

Olympus E410 at their best, as usual

Advantages: weight, all the cables you need, battery life, lenses quality
Disadvantages: editing software needs to be purchased

...want to do with them. If is just for small screen TV?s or your laptop/desktop and you don?t want to spend a little fortune on editing software, keep on Jpeg format and SHQ will make wonders. If by the other hand, you are like me a photomaniac you want the best from your E-410 and you will go for the RAW format. The software that comes with the camera is reasonable but can?t understand why I have to pay for Olympus product. Other excellent packages are available with better quality and for the same price (i.e. ACDsee). If you decide to purchase this kind of software, make sure it recognizes ORF extension as not all of them it will. This is definitely a down side for this product. The colour display on the back gives you what you will get on the card but obviously in a lower definition, don?t you worry if you can?t se the photo very clear, it...

Review of Olympus E-410

The Olympus E410 is my ideal camera.

Advantages: Light weight for a dSLR; excellent image quality.
Disadvantages: Fiddly to operate while wearing mountaineering gloves!

...I've owned an Olympus E410 for a year now. When I got it I was very impressed with the compact size, light weight and capabilities. I found it easy to use, straight out of the box, for taking basic shots. Sometimes I got stuck in the menus when trying to do something different, and had to refer to the printed guide book, finding it easy to find the relevant information. Later, I sat down down and read through the manual with the camera in hand, soon getting to grips with all the features I wanted to use. Connecting the camera to my laptop via the bundled Olympus Master software, I was pleased to see the greatly improved clarity of enlargements over ones from my already good Olympus compact digital camera. The OLYMPUS E410 is A pleasure to use

Advantages: Lightweight , fun to use , Great Picture quality , endless range of functions , well priced
Disadvantages: Can Take a While to understand all of the functions

...After using a compact digital cameras for a 5 years, I decided to update to a more professional slr camera for college, and while looking around, the OLYMPUS E410 certainly stood out for me. It is very light weight compared to all the other SLR's and a pleasure to use , as well as being comfortable to hold , unlike some of the more bulky SLR's. Upgrading from a compact digital camera to the E410 has been much easier , down to the "Live Function" that this camera has, so you can take shots through the LCD Screen , instead of just the view finder , which is an uncommon feature for allot of SLR cameras ,and is also very useful. It also has plenty of functions and scene's, From "Low and High Key", "to Candle scene", even settings to take pictures of documents. i feel it was a great investment and would certainly recomend this...

Photo Phantastic!

Advantages: Light, compact and jam packed full of options and features.
Disadvantages: Some experience needed to get use of all the functions!

...This is my first review in a long while so bare with me folks I might be a bit rusty. As a keen amateur photographer and having just returned from a three day photography course using the Olympus E-410 I thought it would be a perfect time to write about it whilst it is still fresh in my mind. The first thing that struck me about this DSLR camera was the light weight and the fact that it actually felt more like a compact digital than the professional DSLR that it is. Remote Remote

Advantages: Good Features. Well Made
Disadvantages: A little expensive

.... On the subject of batteries I have found battery life to be very good, and along the bottom of the controller are 4 blue LEDs. If you press a button on the remote whilst the console is off, the number of LEDs lit indicate the remaining battery power ? 3 light means 75% battery remaining. When the console is turned on the LED?s indicate which remote it is i.e. remote1, 2, 3 or 4. The final 2 components are the speaker located in the middle of the controller, this gives quite low quality sound but does add a certain something, seemingly make the games more realistic and a vibration unit which again adds to the realism. All in all the remote is great, it can be used in so many orientations for such a variety of games and the motion sensors are generally very good ? although it does get confused some times, but a quick shake seems to get everything...

Review of Olympus FE-250

A poor offering from Olympus

Advantages: Takes AAA batteries and....er.....er...hmmmm.... takes AAA batteries
Disadvantages: Awful screen, not user friendly, feels cheap and nasty, made out of inferior materials etc. etc.

...have changed to a more common storage card format, but oh no. This camera uses the same XD cards of yester year. The X-42 does have an XD ? Micro SD card adapter (i.e. an XD card with a slot for a Micro SD card) but it doesn?t come with a card. What is the point of this? I just can?t understand why Olympus cameras just don?t have a Micro SD card slot, like so most modern cameras do. It makes no sense to me. One positive about the X-42 is the 5x optical zoom. It is actually quite good and it is much better than the 3x optical zoom my other half?s camera has. Conclusion The X-42 is an awful camera and Olympus should be ashamed of it. It looks and feels cheap and nasty, the screen is awful (and it has no view finder), the picture quality is terrible and it is not user friendly in any way. The technology is there to just...

Wii Remote Controller

...I purchased the Nintendo Wii after weeks of searching the internet for a shop that hadnt sold out and once i found one available i bought it immediately. The package came with Wii sports and a remote controller and i have to say that i was quite impressed. The controllers work well with the console and in particular with wii sports. The biggest issue that i have with the remote is the battery issue. Whilst the batteries do last a long time when installed, to keep replacing them costs a fortune. I also have had this problem with my xbox 360 wireless controllers and would recommend anybody who was buying the controllers to also consider a quick charge kit to accompany it. The unit is very responsive and works very well, this depends on where you put the sensor that is supplied with the wii so make sure that you read the manual carefully...
