A poor offering from Olympus

Advantages: Takes AAA batteries and....er.....er...hmmmm.... takes AAA batteries
Disadvantages: Awful screen, not user friendly, feels cheap and nasty, made out of inferior materials etc. etc.

Sounds good!

Advantages: 16 hours recording time, small
Disadvantages: Cannot edit recording at a later date

...When I was revising for my GCSE's I recorded all of my notes onto tape. I listened to these as often as possible: when eating my breakfast, when going to sleep or when I was making cards. I found that this was very effective although I did have two main problems. First of all, it was a nuisance having to keep changing the tape for each subject (I only recorded one topic of a subject per side of a tape and I was studying at least 9 subjects each with at least two topics. So as you can imagine I had quite a few tapes!) My second main problem was when I played it back when going to sleep, the tape continued to whirr after the speaking had finished. Olympus - the peak of cameras

The Olympus lens produces sharpness that is a world apart from your average point and shoot cameras. Since you can shoot and save in RAW mode ( that is a camera setting, nothing to do with your state of dress or outside temperature ) , you can load your pictures on to your PC and alter just about anything. ! If you were a setting too over-exposed, RAW editing will perfectly adjust that for you. If you think the sky is underexposed but the field was overexposed, you can layer the shots and edit the different sections separately. Olympus E-30. Still not up there with the big boys?

Advantages: Fold out LCD screen, Image Stabilization, Zuiko lens quality, Picture quality, Flash options

...The E-30 is Olympus's own stepping-stone between the so-called "prosumer" models (what an awful word) and the E-3 professional SLR, being loosely comparable with the likes of the Canon EOS 50D, the Nikon D90 and the Sony Alpha A-350. It shares a lot of the E-3's features and has even overtaken the E-3 in terms of resolution, offering 12mp compared with the E-3's 10. Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on your opinion - some of its features are things that serious photographers don't really want on their cameras and definitely push the E-30 towards the hobby photographers rather than the professionals. The E-30 doesn't share the E-3's weatherproof casing, in fact it is built from a plastic/fibre-glass composite material, which helps to keep the weight down and, surprisingly to me, doesn't make it feel cheap.
