Neutral Marble Hotel

Advantages: Big rooms, good location, no blood on the ceiling

...Okay, this is my first travel review, as such, and that puts me in the dangerous position of being up for comparison with Koshkha, Richada and Torr, all of whom are brilliant at holiday writing, and are, in my opinion, possibly the greatest Writers Of All Time (although I haven't read anything by Dickens yet). A great place to stay in San Francisco

Advantages: Great staff, quiet room, extremely clean, on a cable car line
Disadvantages: Bar gets busy in the evening, room a little small

...We visited The Omni (the husband and me) in December 2006, after finding an excellent price on bmi's website. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel. It's not in the Union Square area but in the business district which meant the area was quiet at night. The California Line cable car stopped right on the corner and it didn't take long to get anywhere. The hotel is in an old building which has been converted and has a welcoming lobby with armchairs and tables. It feels rather impressive as you walk down through the door and down the stairs into the lobby (there is a lift if you need it) and I wish I had been more smartly dressed, instead of looking scruffy after a flight! We had a small room but it was clean and well appointed with two queen beds, armoire containing the tv, armchairs and coffee table and a desk...

The company is 'Omni Data Systems' and are situated in Swansea. On first visiting the site, I wasn't initially impressed, especially when you compare the site to the likes of 'PC World' and 'Time Computers'. However, here is a perfect case of quality over quantity. Although you are only presented with a few options on the website, the company is very flexible with what you can order. I was interested in the Omni Scholar package, which included an AMD 2000+ processor, 60Gb Hard Drive, 256Mb SDRAM, 40x10x40 CD-Rewriter, 16x DVD-ROM Drive, 56k Modem, 17" Monitor, Canon BJ100 Printer, Web Cam, keyboard and mouse. Remembering the good times

...I remember when Omni was still a mall. I don't know why it's listed here at least as a mall. The mall part of it closed many years ago. It's now a technology center. The motel is still in operation, but under different ownership. It's used now mainly as a bus terminal. For years before the mall closed, it was getting progressively worse. All but one of the department stores had moved out for bigger and better malls. The book store had closed. I think people just wanted Bayside more. The same thing happened to The Mall at 163rd Street, although 163rd may still have a chance. (I'll get to that in another review.) It was a good mall. I have many fond memories of it. Too many PC's and Too little Space: A Solution?

Advantages: Allows 4 PCs to share one Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor

I also like having a large monitor, preferably 19" or 21" minimum. Now how do you get three PC's, three 21" Monitors, three keyboards and three mice onto a desk no bigger than a kitchen breakfast bar? The answer is simple: You don't.
