Staropramen Lager

...Staropramen is a Czech lager, first brewed in Prague in 1869, but didn't get its brand name registration until 1911. Today, it is the Czech Republics top selling beer and is sold in many countries all over the world. I hear that is very popular in Ireland, sold almost as frequently as Guinness. It is now widely available in many UK pubs and clubs and is reasonably priced too. Right, enough with the introduction, now to the important part of any drink - the taste! At 5% ABV it is mid strength lager and it tastes great. Although its full bodied, Staropramen is smooth and surprisingly light, meaning it is very easy to drink. It also has tremendous thirst quenching potential, so is lovely on a hot day in the beer garden of you're local. A nice Light Lager

Advantages: Refreshing. Light. Pleasant Flavour
Disadvantages: A tad expensive

FANCY BOTTLE, FANCY LAGER

Advantages: Variety of sizes, good taste
Disadvantages: Quite strong, waste of glass??

...OK, maybe not. I've only just written about Carling beer - rather weak and gassy, in another opinion, now it's the turn of something stronger and classier!! I'm not a great one for drinking lagers and beers these days - I used to favour bitter and stout but am now more inclined towards wine or spirits. However I do get to taste a variety of lagers courtesy of my boyfriend who is rather partial and doesn't stay overly loyal to any one brand/type. I know two of his favourites are Stella Artois and Grolsch Premium Lager - so we'll examine the latter today! Export strength lager at it's best

Advantages: Great tasting lager and its refreshing too
Disadvantages: A little pricey compared to weaker lagers

...I am a man of many tastes, as my previous reviews on alcoholic beverages would suggest. I enjoy a refreshing cider, and a cheap lager, but what about an enjoyable slightly pricier drink? I'm not a spirit man, so my dabbling tends to take me to the higher spectrum of the lager tap. Away from the Castlemain?s, the Carlings and Fosters, it?s time for a finer pint. Best premium strength lager on the go

Advantages: Tastes like an angel weeping on your tongue
Disadvantages: I know you pay for quality but at nearly a quid a can it burns quite a large hole in you pocket

...It's amazing how different Carlsberg and Carlsberg export actually taste. They are two premium strength beers made obviously, by the same company. But in the taste department there is really only one winner. You could be suckered into thinking that as they are both Carlsberg beers, then they would probably taste very similar. This however, is definately not the case. I was never a big fan of the original Carlsberg because it always tasted a little on the cheap and nasty side (a bit like skol) rather bland in flavour and very fizzy. Probably the best lager in the world? I think not. However, with the Carlsberg export variety the taste is refreshing, crisp and clean and extremely palatable.
