...Last night Behind enemy lines was on Film Four and I thought I?d give it ago, I had never heard of the film before and so did not know what to expect, I always give the info on the TV a read before getting into a new film as unfortunately I am one of the Biased people of the world who find a film more worth trying if it has good actors and a good synopsis. Judging a book by its cover and all that (slap on the wrists). First impressions Before the film had started I had my doubts, the cast of actors includes Owen Wilson, and after seeing more than a fair share of his films, I was doubtful to whether he could pull off what was being described on the TV info as an ?action/thriller? I have never seen him in a serious role and although this gave doubts it also intrigued me into seeing the film and made me want to see if he would fail...

Defining The Great Line

Advantages: Strong drum work throughout, impressive vocal styling.
Disadvantages: You may wear the album out from playing it so often.

...In 2004 the band rose to fame with their 'They're Only Chasing Safety' album which sold more than 350 000 copies. Underoath came back after a 2 year wait with this album 'Define The Great Line' with which the band have a great stab at success in the metalcore genre, a genre they started off in with their first two albums 'Act of Depression' and 'Cries of the Past' before moving onto the melody, scream, repeat formula of the 'They're Only Chasing Safety' release. I feel that this was a wise move for the band as I feel that this is a genre that they do a lot more successfully, and so in returning to their roots as such the band are definitely onto a winner. ...No Line On The Horizon: No Line On The Horizon The perfect opening track for an album like this. Starts off like a fly through the clouds in dawn greeting a new day. That's how I feel about this song. The verses are the key point in this song. The chorus is also very catchy. Pure U2'ness. Magnificent This is probably the best song off the album. That angry and poppy intro doesn't prepare you for what comes next. Melodic layers of guitar while Bono yells 'Magnificent', probably describing their new album. The verses are very beautiful and the lyrics just phenomenal. Moment Of Surrender This song was the hardest for me to like but I do now, after some good sessions of listening.   Drive Within The Parallel Lines.

Advantages: Much better than the last driver game. Modable cars.
Disadvantages: Quite a short game, hard to drive as the roads are packed with traffic.

Walk the Line said the Man in Black

Advantages: An engaging, touching story and exceptional performances
Disadvantages: Very little

..."Walk the Line" chronicles the early years of legendary Country singer Johnny Cash from his childhood days, through to his rise to fame as a singer, his romance with June Carter, his decline into drug addiction and culminating in the now legendary concert at Folsom Prison in 1968. There is nothing I enjoy more than a really good biopic, one which entertains, educates and excites you whenever you watch it. For me "Walk the Line" fits that scenario perfectly, leaving me fully entertained once the film has finished, in fact despite its 124 minute duration it leaves me wanting more. What also makes this film so enjoyable is that whilst it sounds like a pretty stock storyline it is made all that more special because it is also an amazing true love story. Advantages: Some Superb Songs
Disadvantages: Some Tracks Are Quite Short

...however something that the Band were never entirely happy with. There was no doubt that they had been heavily influenced by the new wave of New York Punk Bands that had emerged in the middle of the seventies and their first Album had been very well received. Its follow up Plastic Letters however was not quite so warmly received although it had given the Band their UK breakthrough on the singles chart with its two singles, Denis (number 2) and (I'm always touched by your) Presence, Dear (number 10). A change of direction was needed for their third Album, something that would drop their Punk tag in favour for something much more experimental, and more commercially acceptable to the masses. Advantages: Fascinating stories that we don't normally hear.
Disadvantages: Too focused on Davenport, struggles with ending.

...I'm slightly cynical about the story of the creation of Parallel Lines. From watching the film, one is given the impression that it all just fell into place, and a documentary was the outcome. The more weathered viewer though may look at the film, and come to the impression that the whole concept was constructed. However, this does not make the stories within the film any less real or honest. Parallel Lines is by documentary filmmaker Nina Davenport, who like so many of her peers, can't seem to resist putting the camera on herself, even if she is also person operating the camera. We follow her as she travels across the US at the end of 2001, to afraid to fly after the events of September 11. Her journey will take her from California to her home in New York that overlooks the site of the World Trade Center. Living out of her car...

A Line of Deathless Kings

Advantages: A solid album by a truly great band
Disadvantages: Not one of their very best- try another for a better introduction to the band

...My Dying Bride, the only one of the three major English doom metal bands of the early Nineties to have resisted the urge to evolve beyond all recognition (the others being Anathema and Paradise Lost) nevertheless seem to operate in cycles, or have done for much of their career. Their evolution from (at their beginning) ropey death metal through to increasingly melodic, symphonic styles reached its natural conclusion with the experimental, beautiful 34.788% Complete in 1998, since when they have veered back and forth with touches of both their earlier and more recent compositional styles. Their last two albums combined crushingly heavy death metal with tranquil, symphonic passages, successfully marrying together their diverse arrangements. This is where A Line of Deathless Kings picks up. There is nothing especially groundbreaking...
