A Great DIGITAL Pregnancy Test!

...I started out buying just the standard Clearblue Pregnancy Test. I brought this one initially as it was cheaper than some of the others (£10 for 2 test sticks). Anyway I was 7 days late but suspected before this that I may be pregnant but wasn't too sure how long you are supposed to wait before you can do the test. When I read the box I found out I could of actually done the test on the first day my period was due, so I didn't actually need to wait this long at all. I had never taken a pregnancy test before but was very pleased to find that there were very clear instructions on the reverse of the packaging. The clear instructions were in 3 steps. I'll never buy another test again....

Advantages: So easy to use, compact sealed test. Very reasonably priced.
Disadvantages: Only available to buy on the internet.

As you can imagine over this time we have tried many home pregnancy tests; branded, shop's own brand, cheap and expensive. Since discovering ACON's One Step pregnancy cassette test we will not be trying any other. Let me explain why... PRICE ACON's One Step tests are so much cheaper than any that I have seen in any shop. ...most pregnancy tests available on the market these days do exactly the same as each other it is just that you pay a lot more for testers that tell you in words that you are pregnant or tell you that you are so many days pregnant, this in my opinion is a total waste of money when they all do the same job which is basically testing for an increase in a hormone in your urine, after all why pay £15 for a stick you are going to piddle on and throw away when you can get a very similar stick from your chemist for around £1 for a pack of two or 3 and are the exact same ones used by the nurse at your doctors surgery. After 15 tests... i got a result!

The day before Christmas Eve was the date my period was due to arrive, and 2 days before that I tried one of the internet cheapie pregnancy strip tests that had come with my ovulation tests. It showed nothing, so I just thought it was going to be another bad month for us. That afternoon I tried another cheapie test (I have been addicted to testing since we started trying to conceive!) ...These modern tests are done in exactly the same way as it would be if you'd had gone to your doctors - except now you can do it in the privacy of your own home and you don't have to wait weeks to find out the result! Perfect! I've never done a test until 11 weeks ago and I was so very nervous about doing a test for the first time. Especially as we'd planned a baby... just not this soon! The boots pregnancy test gave me an accurate result in just a few seconds. I actually took a second one just to be on the safe side. It too was positive, it couldn't be wrong! Its not an early detection test!

Advantages: Incredibly cheap and easy to use
Disadvantages: not all reliable

...When i thought that i was pregnant i used this pregnancy test 4 times, and each time it came back negative, even though i was actual pregnant! It says early detection but it only works if you are more than 2 months pregnant. In my opinion its not really ideal but it is cheap! The pregnancy test was very easy to use, the only down side is that you had to use a cup to place the applicator in urine as it did not supply one. All that comes in the pregnancy test is one applicator so for easyness of use i would definatly give it ten out of ten! Obviously it wasnt accurate only 2 months after i was pregnant. But when i took the pregnancy test after 2 months it came back positive which is a good sign! The reason i bought this product is because i wasnt prepared to pay alot of money for something if i was unsure of them working...

...I found this product in my local chemist. I waited until all the customers had left the shop and then asked for a pregnancy test. I don't know why I did this as I had a wedding ring on and a 19 month old in a pram with me! I had a choice of one of the regular branded pack of two pregnancy tests for £13.99 or this one for a 'special price' of £2.99 for one. Not sure if this is the regular price but it had a big yellow sticker indicating the special price and it's not as if they wanted to clear the shelves as it's in date for over another year. It also had the added bonus of being a renowned brand. The test can be bought in single, twin or triple packs. They work out much cheaper the more you buy. A second test is always necessary in case something goes wrong or you cannot believe your results. Each pack comes with a digital reader and test sticks (1, 2 or 3 depending on pack purchased).
