After 15 tests... i got a result!

Advantages: Clear blue was clear to read
Disadvantages: it is more expensive

...and hey presto within 3 minutes of looking at an Egg timer icon we were staring at the word 'PREGNANT' on the LCD screen. What a lovely Christmas present. The Clear Blue digital test said on the box that it could detect pregnancy as early as 4 days before the period was expected, although there was fine print to say that this wasn't in all cases. Of all the tests I tried it was the only one that gave me a definite result so early. In the following week I tried another Asda test and got a great positive, but it just shows that many tests just don't pick up enough hormone to detect a very early pregnancy. In all cases I did hold the absorbent stick in the stream for at least 5 seconds, but the HCG levels in my wee were obviously not strong enough for the tests. ...I started out buying just the standard Clearblue Pregnancy Test. I brought this one initially as it was cheaper than some of the others (£10 for 2 test sticks). Anyway I was 7 days late but suspected before this that I may be pregnant but wasn't too sure how long you are supposed to wait before you can do the test. When I read the box I found out I could of actually done the test on the first day my period was due, so I didn't actually need to wait this long at all. I had never taken a pregnancy test before but was very pleased to find that there were very clear instructions on the reverse of the packaging. The clear instructions were in 3 steps. You then need to check you've got it the right way up by looking at the information leaflet, there's a thumb grip at the top which is blue and thicker than the rest of the stick and the opposite end is the dipping stick. Its not an early detection test!

Advantages: Incredibly cheap and easy to use
Disadvantages: not all reliable

...When i thought that i was pregnant i used this pregnancy test 4 times, and each time it came back negative, even though i was actual pregnant! It says early detection but it only works if you are more than 2 months pregnant. In my opinion its not really ideal but it is cheap! The pregnancy test was very easy to use, the only down side is that you had to use a cup to place the applicator in urine as it did not supply one. All that comes in the pregnancy test is one applicator so for easyness of use i would definatly give it ten out of ten! Obviously it wasnt accurate only 2 months after i was pregnant. But when i took the pregnancy test after 2 months it came back positive which is a good sign! The reason i bought this product is because i wasnt prepared to pay alot of money for something if i was unsure of them working...
