...During the 1990s, if you had a games console you would have probably been in one of two camps: Sega or Nintendo. I certainly was rooted firmly in the Sega camp having had a Mega Drive for many, many years with games like Street of Rage, Ecco the Dolphin and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. I was a huge Sonic fan, playing the first and second game until completion and then starting up again a few days later as I loved everything about it, the colours, the gameplay.... everything. So if you tried to convince me that some 10-15 years later that Sonic and Mario would team up in a game, I probably would have just laughed. Back then it would have been an absurd thought but one that any magazine reviewer or computer game fanboy would have only dreamed about. ...The Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has been with us for a while now, and it hasn't been too badly received either amongst the Wii-mote waving, button bashing members of the public out there, so now that the DS version has finally arrived, should these same gamers still be as excited as they were the first time around? ...Having seen the advert for this game i was desperate to buy it as i have not had my wii for that long and i do not have many games. I eventually bought this game and i am so glad that i did as it is great fun. Players This game can be played as a one player or multiplayer as long as you have a wii remote for each player. Also you will need a nunchuck for each player although some of the games you can play with just the remote. Characters In this game you can play as characters from either sonic or mario such as sonic, tails, mario, princess daisy and yoshi. Each of the characters have different abilities which are split into speed, skill, power and stamina. you can choose a character who is a speed, skill, power or all around type which means that if you are playing a running game you would choose a character from the speed type...

Advantages: many great classic Games, Scrabble, Monopoly, Cluedo and Yahtzee are my favourites.
Disadvantages: Can be slow at times of high US internet traffic. Games may take a while to load over slower modems

...I was reminded of this site after reading dave27's review of Scrabble. This is just one of the many online versions of games available to play at www.games.com I stumbled on this site by accident one day a couple of months back and was amazed at the broad variety of things there to keep you amused. Firstly, I would recommend that you register yourself at the site before you play any games. This allows you to chat with other players, and on many games allows extra functions or the full version to be played. there is an option to stop getting spammed with loads of email, so don't worry about that too much. As well as all the usual card game stuff available on almost any internet games site, such as bridge, hearts, gin rummy et al, there's a section devoted to classic old arcade games like Centipede, Asteroids and Tempest...

...I always have good experiences with Games Workshop. Every time I order from them the goods arrived packaged in PERFECT condition. Last time I ordered was a few months ago. Postage was relatively cheap and the items arrived within three days. I thought that it was excellent service. The website itself has some good information on all areas of Games Workshop. Each area is split into categories and there is always a good deal about each. I think it is very well set out and there is a lot on the website also. One criticism I do have about the website, however, is the fact that there are no forums. On the whole, however, this is a very successful site and I would definitely recommend that everyone visits, they might even like it!...

Carnival Funfair games: Wii

Advantages: Cheap, very fun!
Disadvantages: No good for young children, and it doesn't "progress" much.

...This game is so fun!!! We got it with our Wii when we bought it and we got a little addicted to it!! Its got a variety of games on it which you can play which you find at real carnivals and funfairs! Games such as Coin toss, ball in a bucket, milkbottle tumbe and loads more!! You earn points and unlock prizes and more games as you go (my favourite prize is the G-Raff on the duck hitting game!!!!!!) It can be played by up to 4 players and if you only have one controller it accomodates this!!! As well as been a great game, its cheap too!! The only thing with it, is that some of the games don't last very long, and once you've unlocked the few games extra you can get, the game doesnt progress, but that is the only fault, and as a game to play to pass the time and have a good laugh in the head to head mode, its a great game to have a good...

...Considering this website is specifically aimed at online gaming it doesnt reall offer much in the way of choice. You can play classic online games like asteroids and centipede or crad game like solitaire or boardgames like bakcgammon. Theres also a very small selection of cd rom games you can play over there servers the best being mech warrior 3. The idea of the site is a games community it lets you play the games online while chatting to your opponents and fellow gamers, this is a great idea as your playing you can meet new friends etc. As always you have to register but this is quick and doesnt really put you off much. The game aren't that bad and can be fun sometimes, each game its own page with the high scores on etc. The games are fairly fast loading not much waiting is needed. I was interested with the general idea...
