Advantages: No advantages - much worse than before
Disadvantages: any you can think of... more time, money, disappointment and hassle

...- maybe VFS were involved with that also?) We all need to complain about the incompetence of VFS Global and the Indian high commission. This is not an acceptable process. I was told the reason the system had been changed was because the 'Mandarins' at the High commision did not like the common people - us! Making their offices dirty!!!! Maybe it was interfering with their afternoon tea service!!!**!! How inconsiderate of us actually daring to show our faces whilst making a visa application and ruining their lovely day with the actual thought of maybe having to do some work. Obviously they forget what a New Delhi slum looks like having been living in the country of my birth for so long. Solution to actual work? Get in VFS Global which is owned by my brothers cousins aunt, charge more money and do much less work! Genius idea...

Natwest Online Bank - A Great Service

Advantages: Great Service, Many Pros

...Natwest Online Banking Firstly, this is a very good service. I have used this service for just over a year and I find myself using it regularly. Registration. To use this service you have to be registered. To register all you need to do is visit there webpage and input some simple details, (Name, Address, Ect) and then choose a password. They will then send out a pack within four or five days which contains all the instructions for using the online banking and also your customer number. To log on To log on you need your customer number, your password and your pin number and you will need to input these details every time you visit the page and want to view your details. My salary gets paid in, I spend it via cheques, standing orders and direct debits and on the 1st of every month I get a statement. What more do I need?? There were times when I had to set up a standing order or direct debit but never got round to filling in the form or posting it off on time. I was a little surprised as to the area that it was in, but hey ho that is Ciao for you as they put it there supposedly! But anyway, back to the subject in mind. How do I use the library service? Well, you have to actually be a member in order to use pretty much any of the facilities that are on offer. It is usually free to join, but there are usually stipulations that you must agree to meet prior to joining: 1. That you are a permanent resident in the area that provides the service. If you live in Devon or Cornwall, then you can't use the service in Avon or Somerset. Taxing your vehicle the easy way

Advantages: Quick, easy all you need to do is pay!
Disadvantages: All your paperwork needs to be in order

If you doubt that I really can promise you it is by far the easiest way I have ever renewed my car tax and I can't see me ever going back to queuing again at the Post Office! If you own a car the next time your renewal notice drops through your letterbox you will see in large letters on the right hand side that you can now relicense online (or tell the DVLA that your vehicle is off the road). Not only do they make it clear that you can use this service they also give you, in very bold print, the reference number you need to use in order to do that. Disadvantages: must be done online, more expensive than before, no same day service

...off and collect your passports, you can go in person. Does it work? We did the online application forms and made online payment. Then we sat on everything for a week because I needed my passport. Then we sent everything off on a Monday and the passports were back on Friday of the same week. You can no longer get the 'same day' service that used to be available when the consulates issued visas but we were impressed at the speed of the postal service. And for most people requesting tourist visas, the current service beats the old postal service by several weeks. For years we had to allow 6-8 weeks when working through visa agencies so I'm happy to give a big thumbs up to the new service. I just hope they let it bed in and don't change it again too soon. LloydsTSB Gold service online account

Advantages: Best online banking service IMHO
Disadvantages: Low interest rates and account charges

...I've had this account for about 2 years now and I'm still using it as my main account. Quite surprising as as the interest rate is low and some of the services are expensive. At the moment a lot of other banks are offering cash incentives to transfer your main account and the financial watchdogs are trying to make the process as easy as possible. So why have I stuck with this account for so long? The £8 a month fee is about £8 more than I'd like to pay when I'm in credit but it does pay for a few interesting perks. As well as the usual Sentinel card protection you get worldwide travel insurance, a freepost gold-coloured keyfob so hopefully if you ever lose your keys they will be returned to you and I recently got a letter saying the account would also include break-down cover this year.
