...My experience with Natwest stockbrokers has been a very pleasent one. I use the online brokering system, which provides a secure and easy way to trade shares for a minimal fee. There are various options available when buying and selling shares (such as 'market' , 'fill or kill' etc.) and you can buy/sell by volume or by target price - which is very useful if you are on a budget! You also get to choose your settlement period. There are cheaper stockbrokering services out there, but I have found Natwest fairly competetive for the level of service they provide. You get basically, online access to buy/sell shares through the Natwest broker and optionally a nominee account to store your certificates electronically - which saves having to deal with paperwork and saves on certain fees. Barclays Online Stockbrokers and New PC's

Advantages: Ease to Use , Cheap , Cash timing advantage
Disadvantages: Potential security issue , Only 3 trades in 5 Minutes

...I deal with the Share certificates with Barclays and they offer an exceptionally easy service and you do not have to pay any money out for at least two weeks.The problem I have come across is if you buy a new PC , you actually need to take a copy of your digital certificate which Barclays use to verify you are who you say you are.If you have not like I did you need to re-register and they cancel your old account.Obviously if you sold your PC and did action an Online trade , then someone could fraudently trade as you.You must remove your certifcate from your old PC....

Pritchard Stockbrokers

Advantages: Excellent advice, friendly, well established
Disadvantages: bit more expensive than online trading but doesnt matter if they makey ou money

...I use Pritchard Stockbrokers, who are excellent. Their charges are pretty standard within the industry but they are more expensive than the online trading firms. However if you are like me, then you will like the fact of having your own personal stockbroker at the end of the telephone with a wealth of knowledge and tools at their disposal to help advise you and also help you with problems you may have with holdings. They also taylor the service to your needs and pick stocks on your requirements, building your portfolio the way you want it.I would recommend them as their advice on stocks and helping me with tax problems has been top rate. ...Barclays Stockbrokers Barclays Stockbrokers offer an execution only telephone and Internet share dealing service. In June last year I switched from Natwest stockbrokers to Barclays telephone dealing and to the Internet Service when it was introduced. The first deal with Barclays, a buy, was paid by by cheque T + ten days. Subsequent deals require a Direct Debit set up which has worked OK. Trading on this Internet Site requires a digital certificate installed in Internet Explorer, contents section, without which you cannot trade. Loosing it means you cannot trade. I deleted mine by accident and because I had not made a back up was unable to trade until a replacement was installed. I have found the service easy to use when it is up and running but at times access is slow and the site has sometimes been inaccessible...

...Barclays stockbrokers is one of the best brokers I have used for buying and selling shares. It's simple to use and registeration only takes a short while, you don't even need to be a Barclays customer to apply. You can buy shares by setting up a direct debit so that each deal comes straight out of your bank account no hassle sending cheques. When you come to buy or sell shares you type in the company that you are intrested in and it brings the share price up for you, now you only have about 15 seconds to make your mind up if you want to make the deal. If you buy shares I find that the next day I have recieved all the details about my recent purchase, the same goes for selling them. Barclays bank is a big name and this is the best on-line broker I ever come accross, I will continue to use Barclays for all my future deals. The web site...

Littlewoods - online!

Advantages: Free delivery and returns!
Disadvantages: None That I can think of!

...The littlewoods site can be accessed using the address www.littlewoods-online.co.uk. SImple! When the page comes up, ususally a pop up advertisement appears too. Dont immediately close it, as they sometimes have a super special offer, that you dont see anyhwere else.! At the moment it is advertising the sale on branded products!. To use te site you have to be A) a littlewoods customer and B) registered to use the online facility. If you are not just fill in the relevant forms and hey presto! The first page of the website is full of special offers, Top 10 buys of the week etc. To read more about the offers, you just have to simply click in the relevant spot! Easy peasy! The actual design of the site is ok but the colours are so bright and varied that it tends to clash a bit. But never mind, no-ones perfect!! You log in...

Whenever I feel like buying shares I can pick up th telephone quote my ID and password and buy, simple as that. The next day they will send you a form to sign and everything is completed as easy as that. You can also set up a Direct Debit account, which is even more faster and more efficient. I have used the service on numerous occasions and found it very easy and simple. The only problem I have encountered is that at crucial times the phones have been engaged for a long periods of time. When this happens you can buy and sell off the internet which is jut as simple, the only thing about that is that you can't be advised by their customer personnel.
