Advantages: The price, The picture quality and so forth
Disadvantages: Didnt work as well on old toshiba TV's

Can you buy a full HD projector on the cheap?

...This is a really great projector, at a very impressive price (£529 on Play) - the cheapest WXGA I've seen! Many DLP projectors suffer from the "rainbow effect" but with this Optoma there is virtually no rainbow effect at all - this is due to the 4x speed colour wheel, which is faster than you would find in many other projectors. Out of the box, the picture is great. I found the yellows were maybe slightly muted but this can be adjusted by the on-screen menus. The actual projector looks very sleek - the black and silver case looks really classy - and it comes with all the inputs you could want, expect SCART, but don't worry - a SCART adapter comes in the box. ...i have just purchased the optima HD720x and i can say it is top quality my old projector which i thought was a very good picture is no match for the 720x i have been running my pc downloads of movies through the projector and was amazed at the quality of picture this is even with out HD just awesome thought it was HD and i cant think what an HD input device will display . must say if i had a choice of the new 70inch plasma that cost nearly £2000 or this machine i know where my cash will go VALUE FOR MONEY . ps and im just projecting it on my wall that has been painted magnolia how simple is that SORTED. well its now nearly 12 months since i wrote this review and have had many hours of viewing like over a thousand now lol maybe thats because im using it many hours a day as it runs from my pc to watch films music videos and wait for it...

...I bought this projector a month ago and have to say that I am extremely impressed by it. The picture quality is superb and the unit can be focussed so that you gain a very clear image. Connectivity is good with VGA, S-Video, Composite and audio connectors - no HDMI is a shame, but not surprising considering price. The sound is a big let down - but I recommend using it through an external source, I use a 5.1 surround sound system and it sounds great. The projector looks very sleek and shiny, and comes with a well-functioned remote control. Lamp life is average at 2000 hours, and it is very bright, enough to be able to watch during daylight without too much difficulty. This is a great projector for the home theatre enthusiast on a tight budget. It performs extremely well - you won't regret it!...

...I have used this Sony Projector for over 3 years. It is very light, compact and easy to use. It comes in a canvas carry case with shoulder strap. The projector itself folds up in to a compact carry case. The front cover folds over with a handle and locks so it can be carried like a mini briefcase. The control functions are on top of the projector. There is a row of buttons on the front, Power,Input,APA, and volume control. On the right are buttons for reset,menu,arrow keys and enter.
