Advantages: Great contracts on offer, good reception, good service
Disadvantages: Not consistent waiting times when phoning cust services - can wait a while at peak times

...I have been with the Orange network since owning my first mobile phone at the age of 16 (13 years ago) and (touch wood) I have encountered very little problems with them. At present my partner and I have both our mobile phones and our home broadband with Orange because we believe they offer good customer service as well as cost efficient prices. The Broadband we get from them amounts to just £5.00 with unlimited downloads which is an offer they advertise should you have a phone contract with them. They also offer free internet should you have a contract with them but with limited downloads instead. Orange offer a wide range of contracts to suit all needs. Orange Network

Advantages: Text messaging, good coverage in the UK, good choice of phones
Disadvantages: not too hot if you pay for a year upfront

...I have been on the Orange Mobile Phone network for about 3 years now. I originally joined this particular network as the coverage with Orange in some places is much better than other networks at the time. Text messaging was an important consideration when choosing which network to sign up with too as all our family were with Orange, and at that time you couldn't text between networks like you can now. I have always found the service to be of a high standard with no major problems. Customer Services are fairly easily contacted and they are helpful in return. I paid up my contract for the year, and just have a small bill each month. This was fine up until about 6 months ago when I hit a snag. It was reported in the press and also on my Orange phone bill that users on our tarrif were to get extra free talk time minutes...

ORANGE WARNING network overload

Advantages: lots of free minutes
Disadvantages: the network is usually too overloaded to let you use the free minutes!

...Recently the customer base for Orange has doubled leaving the network overloaded and frequently inaccessable in certain areas. I use my phone in the Nottingham/Leicestershire area and find that after 7:00pm, when the free minutes come into play, the network is so overloaded that calls can not be made or received. I bought this package because of the large amount of free minutes but what use are they if there is no network to use them on. I have spoken to several Orange representatives about the problem and they have said that new receivers will be going up within the next 9-12 MONTHS!!!!!! Most contracts are only 12 months long anyway! In the mean time we still pay the high monthly service charge for a service that does not work! I was offered £5 compensation but it never appeared on any of my bills even when I phoned them twice...

Xbox 360 network Adapter

Advantages: Cute,Compact,Attachable
Disadvantages: Weak signal,Very expensive

...Microsoft and their proprietary products are poor performance,and too expensive.This adapter detects the same network my pc adapter detects but only 1 bar of signal.My pc adapter has 5 bars on the network.The xbox adapter must not have an omni antenna and the gain is probably 1dbi.I tried to opened this crap and put a higher gain antenna but the connector is a sub micro connector specially made for microsoft to screw us.I still could have rigged a better antenna,but i accidentally lost an ic chip trying to pry this thing apart,now there goes 70 bucks,never again. Fortunately i discovered linksys sells a universal game adapter (part number WGA54G),the adpater is also pc compatible,why isnt the xbox adapter pc compatible?Anyway,the linksys has an omni antenna and yes its removable to get a better omni.The signal is 5 to 15 times...

Orange Customer Service

Advantages: Good Deals
Disadvantages: BAD network to be on if your in an 12-18month contract

...contract was up I decided to pay myself out of it (which cost £158.72) I had had enough of the problems and bad customer service!! I am now with o2 and am very happy with the phone itself and their customer care. I brought myself an iPhone and have also written a review on that comparing it against the Samsung Tocco which I was originally going to get. My Experience with Orange

Advantages: Good offers

Why Orange is the best network in the UK

Advantages: Cheapest and the Best

...There's only a few things you need to look at. They have the best coverage of any of the providers. They have the lowest churn rate of any provider (ie less customers switch away from them). They have a genuinely good customer service. They have more 'extra' services such as second lines, fax lines, Wildfire etc. They will match the tarrif of any other provider, if you think the grass is greener on another tarrif Orange will bill you as if you were on it and you can change every month. If you are away on holiday or going to be making a lot of calls one particular month you can switch to the best tariff that any provider offers just for that month. Lets All Turn Orange

...Well where do I start?... I've used most Uk network providers and rate Orange within the top 3. I've been with Orange pay & go for over a year now and have had some varying degrees of satisfaction with both customer services and the network as a whole. I'm currently on the same rate 24/7 tariff with bonus top up. Which is all very well and good but its not cheap. My charges are 15p a minute to land line and other Orange users, and 35p a minute to all other networks and these do not change during peak times. Bonus topup is where they credit you back with 10% of your total monthly topup. The bonus topup has a drawback as when it is added to your account it is added seperate from your actual balance and takes priority even when you have brought extras.
