Advantages: Excellent Introduction to PDA's - if you've not had one before.
Disadvantages: Poor battery Life

...closer in fucntion and appearance to the Microsoft Outlook box, than to the older texting functions. Its handy having the pen, as I had just got used on my old phone to sending text messages from the desktop via bluetooth - it seem you can't do it in the same way with non Nokia technology - you have to use Orange's utility which will cost you, even if you have free text message bundles. These are just a few initial thoughts about the SPV M600 written off the top of my head, so my apologies if if its a bit disjointed, you'll probably be thinking a bit the same after you've had it for a couple of weeks! Its a great device, if perhaps a bit annoying at first and I'm looking forward to the next upgrade with who knows what features. Don't know about you though, I had to sign up for 18 months for this one....

The SPV.

Advantages: Easy to use, A nice selection of software
Disadvantages: Heavy and Bulky, sometimes stops for a second or two, poor battery life

Just say NO SPV *UPDATE*

Advantages: Screen size is big

Orange SPV M3100 - worth a good look

Advantages: screen estate, connectivity, touchscreen
Disadvantages: bluetooth settings, slow changing between apps

...Got this on contract with Orange. Mostly, it has been a good phone, offering all the smartphone capabilities I need - wi-fi, Skype, Word, PDF etc BUT (-) I am now on my second handset as after 8 months or so, the first one started to freeze up continuously and I couldn't make or answer phone calls, or do anything with it as all I could see was a white screen. This wasn't always solved by rebooting so it went back. The second one occasionally exhibits the same malfunction as well as being very slow to move from one application to another. I thought it might be a firmware problem as I got the phone when it was very new on the market, but with it happening with the second handset too, I'm not so sure it has been resolved. Another minus is that it seems very difficult to change the default settings for bluetoothed files eg they go...

Advantages: Synch Contacts with pc

...thought out system. Camera - even with a memory card in place it wants to save to phone first of all. Even telling it that card was in place it refused to work until restart. Freezing - initilally it was fine but after 2 months or so it had to be restarted to use any aspect of phone. It kept popping up a message which Orange Support did not recognise eventually prompting a swap over for a different handset. If everything worked smoothly this would be a first class phone. I'm convinced that part of the problem is that orange put a load of their own software on that simply interferes with the normal operation of the phone. If the phone was on another network without the souped up software I think it would be a good choice and I'd be giving it a higher rating. Orange SPV E200 - Smartphone or Costly Mistake?

Advantages: Digital camera/Video Camera, Windows Smartphone 2003 operating system, Bluetooth

...I bought my SPV E200 at the start of February 2004 from the Orange Website for £50 (My contract is a basic £25 a month) but is now free with the same contract just over a month later. LOOKS The phone itself is qwuite large and bulky but the way I see it, is that it is packed with features. It weighs in at 120g but to its credit has a fantastic 16-bit TFT showing 65,536 colours. Spv C600 after two years still works perfectly

Advantages: very flexible
Disadvantages: a bit complicated to use

...I've bought this cellphone almost two years ago, and still I can say about it's working excelent. It has a large display, after two years no dead pixels, the keyboard works perfectly, I had only one problem with it, and I heard that most of the spv c600 have it: after a few months the joystick begins working a bit harder. The solution for this bug is: wd-40, you just have to spray under the joystick and it will work imediatly. Now, regarding it's design, I only regret the fact that it isn't available in black like it's older brother SPV C500, but the two actual colors match perfectly together: dark gray( the main housing) and silver (the keyboard and the margin around the display). It has a 1.3 Megapixel camera, I can't say it's great, but still not very bad. It's like an usual cellphone camera, you can't expect from it to be able...

SPV m600 not up to speed.

Advantages: Email, camera, music player, wireless
Disadvantages: Takes ages to boot, sometimes very buggy, poor email integration.

SMS and MMS messaging is easy enough to use, and a nice touch is using the sylus to select more than one message to delete rather than doing it one-by-one. Other features are standard and straight forward to use, it has all you'd expect from a phone like this, individual ringtone, calling cards, voice recording etc. The real let downs for me though is the email integration, having had it working fine on my previous SPV's i was really dissapointed to find that after even following the instructions on the Orange website i could not get this to send any email!
