An organic natural baby food

...Whilst I was shopping the other day I was in the baby aisle and noticed this baby food. I have never seen these before although I have seen the brand name before on older childrens food items such as smoothies. I decided to pick a couple of these up to try. The one that I have used is the carrots, apples and parsnips flavour. Ella's kitchen states that this is organic baby food and only has these 3 food items in it. The packaging is different to most baby food brands and is simple yet eye catching. It is in a bright orange coloured plastic pouch and has the flavour of the food wrote in brown lettering. It has a screw top which is replacable when you have squoze out the right amount. Should we bother buying organic food

...Organic food is usually on sale at a premium to other food and although the gap has closed a little this trend is set to continue. I can understand the difference in price . It is essentially because growing food organically is a slower more labour intensive process . Not only that but yields can be lower certainly of grade "A "fruit and veg anyway. Therefore the farmer , smallholder or indeed amateur gardener will have more costs or overheads and if you are in business these have to be passed on. Perhaps at this point I should state I garden organically ( to the best of my knowledge) and have not used a slug pellet , pesticide or chemical fertiliser for over a decade. Riverford Organic Food

...I have recently been buying my fresh vegetables from a company called Riverford Organic Vegetables, not because they were organic but because they delivered them to my door, which was convenient for me. Riverford Farm is in Buckfastleigh in Devon, which is very close to Plymouth. All the produce sold in the boxes is Organic although not all is grown at Riverford as they do source from other Organic growers to find the best produce for their customers. I have now had around ten boxes from them and I find the quality of the produce very high. The boxes are priced according to the quantity of produce that is in the boxes. The prices start at £7:00 rising to £11:00 (in my local area) although these are set to rise by 50pence per box from the middle of February. Fantastic fast food for babies

...We found these when we were looking for organic fruit and vegetable purees to help wean our son. We are now the best part of a year on and we still use them every week. These mixed fruit and veg purees come in a range of flavours which are incredibly unappealing to an adult palate (put it this way, the least awful is carrot, apple and parsnip) but seem to be loved by all the babies I know who have tried them. They are approx 75p-79p each, for a 120g pouch. Our son adores these purees and eats them as a snack between his main meals, an occasional pudding or part of his meal when we're out or as a "sauce" to make more challenging foods more palatable. Putting this puree on any food is pretty much a guarantee it'll be eaten. It's a great emergency meal when he's ill and won't eat anything else, with the option of having baby rice...

Is it really organic? Is organic any better?

Advantages: It's suposidly healthier
Disadvantages: it's all a con, most of it isn't even organic

To refer to the comment which says organic takes up less land. All I know is that organic food either takes longer to grow, or takes up more land over all. This could mean that more crops fail or that land has to be left empty for longer. I know that it is not as economically viable as chemical or GM farming.
