A wonderful taste of the Orient

Advantages: Wonderful tasty food with loads of choice something for everyone
Disadvantages: A little bit far for us to travel but worth it. Needs more parking spaces

...GOLDEN ORIENT BUFFET RESTAURANT Since losing my mother last October I made some New Year Resolutions, some have been easier to keep that others, but over all I am still on track, although weight loss is only small it is still helping to getting me better; but that?s another story, the resolution that led us to the Golden Orient was to try new foods and to spend more quality time with my family. Orient Express but not on rails - Great Istanbul hotel

Advantages: Great location, very good customer service and food in restaurants good
Disadvantages: rooms a little dark and we had no view , could not flush toilet paper in the toilet

Sirkeci is also an area of the old part of Istanbul and The Sirkeci Railway Station was the terminus of the famous Orient Express train and was just round the corner from the hotel. GETTING THERE: We arrived at the airport after a flight from Birmingham via Amsterdam and having read a number of reviews about the taxis from the airport and their enthusiasm for speed and reluctance to accept a fair fare or take four people in one taxi, we choose to book an airport transfer. Walkers Sensations Oriental Crackers

Advantages: Delicious!
Disadvantages: None!

...A tasty little number for your delectation this afternoon - Walkers very own Sensations Oriental Crackers...the Peking Spare Rib flavour. Yum! It comes in a purple packet with green 'trim', at 110g a bag - the 'share' bag if you will. Unfortunately they're yet to burst into the individual bag market, but if they did I'd be buying them in shares!! What differs them from the normal Sensations brand such as Thai Sweet Chilli is they are shaped like crackers rather than crisps...a posh Quaver than basically... Well, not entirely. Upon opening the packet, the crisps do look like miniature versions of the prawn crackers every Chinese takeaway loves to give away, but smaller and slightly coloured in flavourings. The feel of the crisp when biting down on it is somewhat firmer than a Quaver, so I'll remove the title of 'posh Quaver...

MURDER OF THE ORIENT EXPRESS (PC 2006)

Advantages: Good actor voices, good atmosphere and you do get to solve crimes.
Disadvantages: Some changes compared to the book, very repetitive, lacks locations to explore.

Delighting guests every single day. Mandarin Oriental Singapore.

Advantages: Great location. Excellent service that isn't too Singaporean! New rooms with excellent features!

...For those who have been keeping up with my Mandarin Oriental exploits then this is the third installment. Today I shall review one of Singapore?s finest five star hotels and let you into the world of Mandarin Oriental Singapore. I have stayed at a variety of hotels in Singapore but none have come as close to the perfect stay that you get at MO. I last stayed here in 2007 when the hotel was just branded as The Oriental, however Mandarin Oriental have since renamed the property under their full brand, just to make you aware in case you read reviews on either of the properties, they are in fact the same. Just look for the ?fan? logo of the company. I was staying in Singapore in between a trip from Malaysia to Australia and given my love for MO I knew this would be a good choice. Oriental Dining experience

Advantages: Easy parking
Disadvantages: A little way from the town centre

...I am a member of a local dining club and we like to try a range of restaurants. Last night the choice was the Oriental Restaurant on Chevallier Street, Ipswich which is a restaurant that we haven't visited before. The restaurant is located in what used to be a nightclub which has been completely transformed, its location is within a mile of the Town Centre and is easily accessible by car or by bus. There is a small car park at the rear of the restaurant but as they also do a 'take away' trade it does get well used and you may struggle to find a space. If you can't get into the car park then you may find it tricky to find a place in the surrounding streets as they are residential streets and Chevallier Street itself is a major 'through route' and parking is not allowed. ...Now before you think I have become a KL obsessive let me give you some background. I used to live In Kuala Lumpur the capital city of Malaysia whilst I went to University there. It is without doubt one of the best experiences of my life and I loved every minute of my studies there. Whilst I was there I got to grips with Asian culture and the Malaysian way of life and their fantastic levels of hospitality. At the same time I got to experience what I can only describe as some of the best hotels in the world. They are all so opulent, luxurious and with service that you just do not find in the western world. It was back in 2005 that my love affair with the Mandarin Oriental chain started and it all began in Kuala Lumpur. I have visited this property many times and shall write today based on my visit of February 2008, having not been back...

The Orient - far from Oriental in look and service

Advantages: Great food - eventually
Disadvantages: Over excitable aircon and music was much too lound

...At the end of 2007, scaffolding and tarpaulins went up on an old building I pass on my way to and from work. I was mildly intrigued to know what was going on behind the tarpaulins and when the building re-emerged a couple of months later, I was very pleased to see the rough-looking old building had turned into what appeared to be a sparkly new restaurant by the name of 'The Orient'. Whilst my home is in the Midlands, I now work on the Wirral and during the week, I live in a flat on the outskirts of the small Cheshire town of Sandbach. Sandbach is a pretty little 'olde-worlde' kind of place that suffers for being best known for one of the most infamously awful motorway service stations in the country and is sadly less well known as the site of some 9th Century Saxon crosses. Oriental Venetian bliss

Advantages: Close to the water bus drop off, central to the dity
Disadvantages: Room very small, walls paper thin

...Ai Mori d'Oriente Hotel We found this to be a charming small hotel. It straddles two buildings which is possibly its only disadvantage, in that we had to go up and under, round and down and up and under again through very narrow corridors to get to our room. Venice is an old city and I suppose that one of the charms that the buildings are not clones of each other. The hotel has a breakfast room, but does not provide evening meals, though you can get a snack from behind the bar, light salad or sandwiches. The bar staff are friendly but stop work with a punctuality which does not reflect the needs of the guests still in the bar!
