Almost star quality from Orion

Advantages: Reasonably priced from a reputable manufacturer
Disadvantages: LCD picture quality can be poor when viewing from certain angles

...we don't watch a huge amount of television in the bedroom, I didn't lean towards any particular manufacturer as I might have done if I were buying a new main television set for the living room. I was also just looking for a portable TV in the region of a 19 or 20 inch screen. Orion TV Review

Advantages: Built in Freeview and is HD Ready
Disadvantages: Freeview is not HD

...I find that this TV is the right size for my bedroom at 32 inches. The picture quality is brilliant. It is a great TV for playing video games on as the HD really makes the games look a whole lot better. It comes with built in freeview although it is a shame that this freeview couldn't have been in HD. The design is very nice and looks well in any room. The sound quality is of the highest as well. The remote control is easy to use and glows in the dark to allow you to find it easily without turning on a light during the night. All in all, it is a great TV, especially when you take into consideration the price you pay for it....

Having moved out from a bedroom in mother's home to a decent sized living room I realised that my 15" was not going to cut it unless I got some seriously good binoculars. Hence a trip to curry's was in order. Armed with a list the size of a cow of necessary purchases such as washing machine, fridge, cooker, kettle, etc the first essential item had to be the TV so we headed to that section. Future proofing LCD Style

...It was my boyfriend's birthday this weekend and as a treat I let him buy a 32" LCD HD ready TV. I know what you're thinking "let him!" but he's been bugging me about it for months and i'd run out of excuses. We looked around all of the online stores with a maximum spending budget of £450. When we looked at Comet they had a Goodmans for that price. We needed very clear specifications which I'll go into later but the Goodmans seemed to fit. When we went to the store the Goodmans looked cheep and plasticy, as well as that the speakers came out quite far at the side and made the TV look stretched. In a bit of a mood as Comet had no other suitable units in our price range we went to Currys. I wasn't expecting to be impressed then I saw the Orion. It was the same price as the Goodmans £449.99 but looked so much better...

...have just recently purchased the Orion 32082 for £399 and was immediately not that impressed by the quality of the picture. I have tried to adjust the settings to achieve some sort of decent reception but it really is hit and miss. The picture on the tv can be perfect at times yet on some channels it is dreadful. If you watch Football/Sport this is not the tv for you, the set has problems with terrible motion blur which is especially highlighted during fast moving sports, for Euro 2008 I have to watch on my bedroom portable (it is that bad). Additionally, there are times when the outline of the picture is so blurred it is impossible to identify what is on display. My older set had fantastic picture reception and I was expecting even better with the new set but boy was i wrong. I even installed Sky + because the picture quality was so...

Cheap and cheerful, but do not expect too much!

Advantages: Good screen size, slim profile, many connections
Disadvantages: Only one speaker it seems, and picture quality poor in some cases

...I bought this TV from Tesco around 6 months ago and have been very pleased. I watch many DVDs and have found the larger screen a must to really enjoy the experience. The sound is average but one large speaker at the front is not ideal. I had to buy a home theatre system to improve the sound. There is a good number of connections available, with three AV connections and a PC connection. I have a Wii, DVD and digital TV connected all at the same time and have used the PC connection for video conferences when working from home. Picture can be of poor quality when watching high-speed sports or action programmes but I've found it to be more than satisfactory 90% of the time. The different picture types (from movie, game, sport, etc) are pretty pointless and really do not enhance the quality of the picture. For me, the reason I bought...

Just what I wanted in a small TV

Advantages: TV/Video Recorder/DVD & Video Player all in one

...I have now collected quite a few DVD and Video Films - my big problem is watching them. As soon as my husband is awake the TV goes on and before he goes to bed the TV goes off. We have DVD and Video players, but with only one TV which is in use most of the time, I have little chance of watching them. Solution - buy another TV, but which one. I looked at quite a few which had DVD and Video facilities, but they seemed very expensive. I eventually found a 14" ORION. It looked good, was the right size to put in one of the bedrooms and was just under £200. Better still, before I put in my order there was a special offer on it, bringing it down to £189.90. My order was telephoned in and within two days it arrived on my doorstep. Couldn't wait to see how it played. It fitted perfectly onto a small bedside drawer unit...
