Orlando International Airport

Advantages: Easy to navigate, plenty of toilets.
Disadvantages: Time in Queues and Speaker system.

...Here is my experience of Orlando International Airport which we have used on Three holidays to Florida, our latest visit was Nov 2007. Orlando International airport is one of the main Airports for Central Florida but some airlines use Sanford which is further from Orlando. It really depends on the airline company to which airport you will land at, we used Virgin for all trips and all arrived at the same area of the international airport. Before you arrive in the USA don't forget to fill is those green visa waiver forms for each person in your party oh and 1 white customs form for the whole family. Fill this out correctly other wise you will pay for this later, time wise. The airline crew are very good and will help by checking over your forms but you must ask them to do this. Awesome Orlando

Advantages: So much to see and do, lots of things are cheap.
Disadvantages: Not enough time to do it all, some big costs.

..., so check your operator provides a shuttle. Our hotel (The Enclave Suites) was just off International Drive, near the Wet n Wild Water Park. !!!!!!!!!!I MUST STRESS THAT THE ENCLAVE SUITES ARE A GREAT PLACE TO STAY, THEY WERE ON HOLIDAYS FROM HELL A FEW MONTHS BACK AND THAT WAS VERY UNFAIR AS THEY WERE GREAT – I WOULD HAPPILY RETURN THERE !!!!!!!!! Sorry, had to get that in. Our hotel was perfectly situated, International Drive is the main road in Orlando that runs right from Seaworld at one end, past Universal and on to several shopping outlet villages. We were a stones throw from it. Once settled in our rooms, we went for a stroll around the local area. There were several little shops and plenty of restaurants and bars, and the trams whizzed by all the time. It was getting on for 6pm so we headed back to the hotel...

mco orlando airport

Advantages: only 20 minutes from internatioal drive
Disadvantages: none

...Orlando international airport ( mco ) is situated in the heart of florida , usa . its the main airport for the british tourists and all the holday makers some people use the sanford airport which is an hour away but the orlando airport is only 20 minutes away from international drive and not far from the disney area. A Good Central Hotel in Orlando

...The Days Inn Lake Bueana Vista. This is situated at the main crossroads in Lake B,Vista. The actual hotel was renovated while I was staying there november 1999. They were doing floor by floor and when we had a look the whole room was being gutted and refitted,so I would of thought it is even better now than it was.They offer 2 double beds in the room and air conditioning, Tv and bathroom with all normal facilities. The chain of Days Inns are known as econimical places to stay which I will agree but the are comfortable ,clean and have all facilities that you may require,ie hair dryers ,tv,hire of videos or game console,dry cleaning or ironing service.They have a games room,shop were you can get loads of items though it is slightly more expensive than the larger american supermarkets. ...'s of their own. Every year we attempt to find a cheaper deal elsewhere and every year we end up traveling with them again. Give them a look. This year, the flights (with car rental) cost us just over four hundred dabs a piece. So the two-week holiday, for transport, accomodation and rental car cost just under 500 quid per head. I've paid more than that for room-only in Tenerife! Not bad huh? The rental car which came with the deal was a Chrysler Voyager and it was more than big enough to cart us all around in grand old style. One word of warning, sort out your car insurance before you go if you can. Fly/Drive holidays are usually quoted net of any insurance charges and these can be quite expensive in the U.S.A. In fact, if you take all of the insurances from the car rental company it will probably cost as much as the car rental itself...

...As a family we have now used Orlando International Airport on our past two visits to the sunshine state. On both occasions we travelled with Virgin from the UK. In addition I also know that BA fly into Orlando International too. Orlando International is situated about 30 minutes drive from International Drive area. The airport has two terminals - A & B. All the gates are remote to the main terminal buidlings and they use a monorail system to transport you. When you arrive at the airport the first job is to go through immigration. This is probably the slowest part of the experience at the airport. This is where you present your passport, green visa waiver forms and your party for security checks. You will get your photo taken and adults get finger print taken too. The queues for this can be long so can be painful for kids after a 9...

Great Hotel Right On I-Drive - Close To Everything

Advantages: Great Hotel, Great Location & Very Friendly Staff
Disadvantages: Have to pay per night for fridge in room

...and they will sort it for you straight away. Another great thing about the front desk is that they will post your postcards/letters for you and this does not cost very much at all. The bellhops are also very friendly and always have something nice to say on your return to the hotel (I know this is because they rely on tips from people, but seriously you could not find nicer people anywhere). The pool could do with being bigger, but its still good as they also have a kids pool and with the amount of other things you'll be doing while in Orlando the hotel pool will be one of the last things on your mind. The pool bar is great, with loads of different drinks, beers, spirits and cocktails, and I would definately recommend the Margaritas (if you don't like salt, they will line your glass with sugar, which is very thoughtful). ...Me and my girlfriend (she's 23 & loves disney more than me!) went for a 2 week holiday in January 2007. Now we were on a budget so to find that there was a Disney budget hotel was a great find. We booked our holiday, including flights, transfers & hotel for around £500 each I think. We stayed in the Disney All Star Music Hotel. Now the whole Disney area in Orlando would cover the size of Greater Manchester, so you get an idea how big the whole place is. All the parks and hotels are surrounded by spacious, open land. Now our hotel was part of 3 all-star resorts the other two being All-Star Movies and All-Star Sports. All three hotels are 3 floors, decorated colourfully and uniquely with huge figures relating to the theme (i.e. we had a 40ft drum set outside our little hotel buiding). Disadvantages: you may have to walk a few yards to a bus pick up point

...companies give you a free car...what a rip off !!! its not free as such you still end up paying around £400 for the hire in all the extras for two weeks holiday.. Then in addition to the hire charges, some hotels want you to pay 5 dollars a day parking fees, and the most of the Orlando theme parks also charge extra for parking, so on top of your motoring costs you are paying for the privalege of having you car parked in a car park while you enjoy the day at a theme park...a bit sensles really unless there are a few of you in the car.... So if you intend to visit Orlando, stay in a hotel on or just off International Drive, I can assure you its much cheaper to forget hiring a car unless you are in Kissimee or on a two centre holiday, but even so I would forget renting a car whilst in Orlando and just rent one for the week you are on the gulf...

Rodeaway Inn International Orlando

Advantages: Price, location
Disadvantages: small pool

...Stayed here in July 2007. Rooms were of a decent size with neutral decor, plenty of hanging space and well appreciated refridgerator & microwave oven. Our bathroom sprung a leak on day 2 of our stay & the staff were fantastic & moved us immediately. We were on the 7th floor & the views of the strip were excellent. On the odd numbered floors you have laundry facilities (very handy) and ice machines on the evens. The pool is fairly small for the size of the hotel but strangely it only got crowded at around 9pm ! Happy hour at the bar is great value & the Shogun Restaurant delicious. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from Wet & Wild and $5 by cab to Universal (or 15 mins or so walk.) Trolley bus stop right outside for easy access to all the strip attractions. Would I stay here again ? Definitely Would I recommend the hotel...
