Biggest OS X Update yet

Advantages: Many new features, Full support for Windows
Disadvantages: OS upgrades used to be free

...Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is the biggest update to the Mac operating system since OS X was first released. It is the first update that I would recommend purchasing on it's own rather than waiting till you need to upgrade to a new Macintosh computer. Some of the most useful features are Time Machine which is a one button backup system (it requires an external hard drive), Spaces, an application that helps organize applications when multitasking , and Bootcamp that allows Windows XP or Vista to load natively on Intel Macintosh computers. Mac OS X (Complete Package)

Advantages: Very similar to Windows XP
Disadvantages: Very different from Mac OS 9

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

Advantages: Latest Release of Mac OS X; Cheap for those upgrading from Leopard
Disadvantages: No support for PPC processor (which is understandable, however)

...the point that you open a terminal window the machine is every bit a Mac, but with the terminal running, you have everything that Unix users take for granted. Many people are saying it's the most important thing to happen to the Macintosh platform since PPC chips were installed. I'd say that's probably true.
