Norlandia Oslo Airport Hotel

Advantages: Breakfast was ok
Disadvantages: not close to the airport, small rooms, smelled funny, shower doors broken

...I recently had to stay over night at Olso airport since our plane got in late at night and there were no flights to my final destination until the morning. We knew this in advance and had pre-booked a room via a discount hotel website. We chose the Norlandia hotel since it was called ?Norlandia Oslo Airport Hotel? and therefore thought it was a good choice since it was close to the airport. This was where my first gripe with the hotel came from.. once we had arrived we had to take a shuttle bus to get to the hotel, this cost us 60kr each one way (around £6) The airport is infact not so close to the hotel and took a 10 minute bus ride! In the morning we had to take the bus again, so all in all we spent about £24 getting to and from this ?Airport Hotel?. Once we got to the hotel, checking in was easy. ...When we booked our holiday to a cabin Norway I made a fundamental error and miscalculated the time it would take to get from Oslo Gardemeon airport to the fjord area of Norway. With a distance of 293km (182 miles) I thought that we could easily cover the distance in under 3 hours. The route given to me by Multimap three days before we departed gave me a shock as it quoted over 5 hours. As we were landing at 6.30pm I did a quick mental calculation and realised I could be knocking on the cabin owners door the wrong side of midnight, that is if I ever found it in the dark! Disadvantages: Not really suitable for families

Food is good although can be repetitive, I would suggest bed and breakfast, they offer an excellent choice for breakfast. Very relaxed friendly service, although I do feel at times this was slow, one member of staff didnt speak very good English I wouldnt have minded but they were not local either, think they need to look at this in a 4 star hotel. The rooms are of a good standard and very clean, towels etc changed daily. There is internet access from your room if you want it or you can use the hotels payable pcs for interenet. The Star Hotel - An absolute Gem!

Advantages: Food - Staff - Location - Everything
Disadvantages: NOTHING !

...Just back from a wonderful stay at The Star hotel in Kingussie. We stayed for a 5 night break in Sept. and cannot find fault. We were welcomed by the owner, and shown to our room. Good size, with large double bed, nice dressing table & warbrobe with plenty of space for all our walking gear. Tea & Coffe making facilities aswell as an iron & hairdryer. You can have the option of having a bath or shower, we chose bath, which was huge! Ample car parking behind the hotel which also doubles as a little beer garden. Breakfast & dinner included in price...and to be honest we have never eaten so much in our lives!!! Absolutely amazing especially for the price!
