PARADISE IN THE DESERT SANDS...
Advantages: Clean, safe, sophisticated, very friendly, modern, shopping! Offers the best of East and West
Disadvantages: None (At present I really cant think of any..just hope too much tourism doesn?t kill the place in 10 years time!)
...emirate hospitality. Although I spent only a couple of days in Dubai, it was enough to give me a feel for the place and explore much of this city?s rapid development in the field of commerce, business, and especially tourism. It currently gets over 3 million visitors a year..a figure that is set to swell in the next few years due to Dubai?s Tourism Industry development plan that aims to provide the highest quality of facilities and attractions by the year 2010. So, where is Dubai? Dubai is the second largest of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE). From UK, it is just 7 hours away and from Asia just 3 hours with an abundance of direct flights. I will discuss the essential travel details of visiting Dubai at the end of this opinion (should you be tempted!)
On first impressions of this city, I was pleasantly surprised...

An Oasis of Paradise in the Arabian Gulf
Advantages: A Bustling Nightlife, Very cheap Shopping with a huge array of different popular retail stores, Beautiful Hotels, Beautiful Beaches, Pleasant weather between October and April, Brilliant service in restaurants across the board, Lots to do
Disadvantages: Alcohol is generally quite expensive, Ramadan (holy month of ramadan means that you must not eat or drink in public during the day)
...* Initial Note *
Dubai is an absoloutley gorgeous city, rich with culture and history, complemented with the huge modern shopping malls and brilliant service that Asia is famous for.
As a lot of people that I have been in correspondance with over the months whilst at CIAO, will know, I spend a lot of time in Dubai. Although getting hot now (Being April), Dubai is definately worth a visit! I would recommend it over any other destination, as I will now explain.
Dubai has a wealth of different things to do. It has a bustling night life, a wide array of tours in to the desert (desert safaris), beach activities, beautiful hotels, tax free shopping, and much more.
- The Night life -
* Initial Note *
Well, Maybe not a new Ibiza, but Dubai is growing so fast, that I wouldnt be suprised one day that the cultural style...

From Dubai With Love
Advantages: Dubai is a safe place with very good quality of life. There is universal brotherhood everywhere.
Disadvantages: None for me, but the hot weather for tourists who are not used to this.
...growing, too, and slowly but surely reached the prime youth. Even though when I look at the mirror every morning, an old, no, older man stares at me, I never repented on my decision to come to Dubai for greener pastures. Because Dubai made me, and Dubai is in me.
Better known as the Pearl of the Gulf, Dubai is one of the seven emirates that form the United Arab Emirates and is a paradise on earth. It stretches 72 km along the Arabian Gulf and has an area of 3885 sqkm. Dubai is the second largest emirate. Dubai creek, on the banks of which Dubai is located, divides the city into two parts: Bur Dubai and Deira. There are many nationalities living and working here in harmony, peace, happiness, safety and satisfaction, thanks to the farsighted policies of the able rulers of this wonderful country and its loving people. The laws are strict...

Paradise, I'm not joking!
Advantages: Nice Weather, beaches, food, destinations, shopping!
Disadvantages: Can be too hot if you go between June-August!
...the emirates towers, which was a relatively new building, used as a hotel and the Burg Al Arab, which is a seven star hotel. God, this building is soooo beautiful, I know I keep saying beautiful but there is no other words to describe it!
The Burg Al Arab is a hotel which rises out of the blue waters of the arabian gulf sea and resides on the coast of Jumeriah Beach, and at night, the whole building glitters!
We also drove down something refered to as the Arabic version of Beverly Hills in America, this is where all the rich people live with their palaces, you can also drive past Sheikh Saeed's House
who is a very influencial arabic ruler.
You can also visit some of Dubai finest Mosques, the most famous, Jumeriah Mosque which is a spectacular example of islamic architecture, very modern!
~~Other places to visit~~
We also visited...

My Dubai Trip ....
Advantages: Time Flies and one falls in love with the place
Disadvantages: Too Hot
...Dubai Experience
I have been travelling on Emirates from 2001 and me and my wife had accumulated about 30,000 skyward points. Of this about 13,000 were to expire on End-Sept-2005 and I thought it may be a good idea to use them. There was a London to Dubai offer for 20,000 points to be used in October and I picked it up. We flew from London Heathrow by EK006 on 28-October-2005 and came back on 2-Nov-2005.
The Investigation:-
I used the internet to collect information about Dubai and found that there was not really too much information that was available on the net. Some of the sites that I could explore were
(a) www.dubai.link.ru (one of the best sites available)
(b) www.dubaicityguide.com
(c) www.dubai.com
There was on offer to join which.net free for 30 days on a trial basis which I joined and the information that I...

Out and about outside Dubai
Advantages: Always some where different to go
Disadvantages: Sometimes very hot and Sticky
...Having given you a rather basic review about Living in Dubai, I thought it might be interesting to take you out of the city and look at some of the surrounding areas that make up Dubai and the UAE.
Now that the weather is starting to cool down, most days now between 35 and 39 degrees, outside past times and off road adventures do make a pleasurable way to spend your leisure time. The cooler months are between October to May and although you can go off roading, camping etc. between June and September it is very, very hot and not unusual to have temperatures well into the 50?s, whew and its sticky with humidity also.
Dubai has many little villages and only one other significant sized town which is to the east and is called Hatta. Hatta is just over an hours drive, about 100km, and nestles at the bottom of the Hajar Mountains. It has...

The Burj Al Arab
Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: Price
...concierge. Now most people will probably think what is the need for me to read this review when I have no hope in ever going their, will I beg to differ, you never no, and its always worth doing a big of reading just in case you get that once in a life time chance of staying their.
Background Information:
So The Burj Al Arab is located in Dubai, which is in the United Arab of Emirates, about a 7 hour flight from London. The hotel is the second tallest building in the World, which is used as a hotel. The hotel itself is built around an artificial island 280 m (920 ft) out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the main land via a private bridge. The hotel started construction in 1994, and took only four years for the construction to finish, making it not only a constructional success but also a good investment for the owner...

not only sand
Advantages: *****
Disadvantages: -
...Dubai is the second emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and lays along the shore that face the Arab Gulf.
Dubai is divided in two parts by a small creek. The southern section is called Bur Dubai while the northern is Deira. The two sections are linked by two bridges, Al Maktoum and Al Garhoud, and one tunnel, Al Shindagha.
Twenty minutes away are the beautiful sands of Jumeirah Beach.
Its skyline is very similar to many American cities with skyscrapers and towers, but despite of this fact Dubai keeps some artistic and cultural interesting places.
The old Al Fahidi fort is located in the Bur Dubai sector and now hosts the Museum of Dubai where are displayed fire-arms, sidearms, bayonets, traditional costumes and musical instruments. In the external courtyard there are many different types of wooden boats used by locals...

Living in Dubai
Advantages: Year round Sunshine
Disadvantages: Scarrrrrrrrrrry Drivers
..., Caving, Dune Buggy Riding, Hot Air Ballooning, Kite surfing and wakeboarding to name but a few. By the end of 2005 there will be the worlds largest indoor ski resort (with snow), a hotel, a 14 screen multiplex cinema and numerous shops and food outlets. Many beaches, beach parks and parks can also be found all over Dubai.
From Dubai you can easily explore the rest of the United Arab Emirates (recommended), Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Hatta, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, East Coast and even Oman by car or 4 x 4. Most places can be reached within about 1 ½ hrs or less. When going into Oman you have to obtain a visit visa which can be picked up at the road border for between £3 ~ £5.
It can be expensive to drink here as you can only drink in bars in the hotels, but with the many hotels here you are never stuck for someplace different to go...

Every view for every one.
Advantages: Easy going place, with lots of different views to see.
Disadvantages: Some strict areas.
...Many people have heard of Dubai but few people have heard of the other six Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates or U.A.E. During my time living in Dubai I was able to visit the other Emirates and would highly recommend this to anyone visting the country.
Many people are worried about the current middle east situation, I personally don't think this country will be effected. During the gulf war tourists were still visting on cheap deals and having no problems at all, but you should always try to keep up with foreign office advice when travelling to this area of the world. I personally am watching the deals and if they come down I am off for a holiday.
Travelling to the UAE is very easy for a British passport holder as no visas are required for stays under 30 days (last I checked).
If you want to see a little more...
