These type of television programmes have soared in popularity and now we have a host of different property themed programmes on many different television channels to choose from. Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer compliment one another perfectly and make the hour long programme well worth sitting down and watching. Kirstie is obviously a yo-yo dieter, in some of the series she has the figure of a goddess and then in another series she may well look voluptuous but either way Kirstie is an exceptionally attractive young woman. Sweet Sound Echo Location

Advantages: Chill out music, Good Value CD
Disadvantages: Not widely known of, not always available in high st shops

...Some of my best buys have come about completely by accident and this is another. I came across Honeyroot in July 2004, a month after their debut album; Sound Echo Location was released on the Just Music label. I was actually looking to buy a CD for a friend's birthday, a Jon Hopkins CD, none were in stock so I took a listen to the sample tracks available and I was mesmerised..... Honeyroot were founded by ex-Heaven 17 (Temptation, We Don't Need This Fascist Grove Thing) front man Glenn Gregory & ex-ABC member, Keith Lowndes. Now, you'd have thought with both of these contentious characters any music that was as a result of a musical partnership, would be heavily influenced by the 80's music scene, you couldn't be more wrong. Where is your ideal location, location, location?

Advantages: Phil is very funny, great to nosy around peoples houses.
Disadvantages: Kirstie's moaning can get a bit much.

...Location Location Location is hosted by Kirstie Allsopp & Phil Spencer and is shown on miscellaneous days at miscellaneous times on More 4 and Channel 4. The show meets couples, relatives or friends who want to buy a property. Phil & Kirstie will get together with them and discuss their requirements such as how many bedrooms are required & which area they would like to live in or near. They will also find out the budget they have and sometimes Phil & Kirstie will work together to find properties and other times they will go head to head and both try and find the dream property that will be picked at the end by the participants. Advantages: Entertaining, lots of useful tips and advice

The Other Other Boleyn Girl

Advantages: A great central performance from Natalie Portman.
Disadvantages: Wishy-washy characterisation and weak writing.

Advantages: Good tips on what to do when purchasing a house
Disadvantages: :Dislike the word 'crash pad' (which is used quite often)

...I really like Location, Location, Location. The current series is on Channel 4 at 8pm every Wednesday. The presenters Phil and Kirsty help 2 sets of potential buyers look for a house each week. Phil and Kirsty work really well together and have great chemistry. I like the way Kirsty has become more outspoken as each series progresses. She doesn't hold back if the clients are being difficult. I find it harder to relate to the programmes when the person/couple has a budget of £600,000, but I really enjoy the programmes with a lower budget. I think they really work well with first time buyers and are quite patient with them. It also gives the viewer a chance to see the house prices across the UK and Ireland and what you can get for your money. They also give some useful tips on what to look for when you are purchasing a house...

SCARY OTHERS

Advantages: Excellent film

...The others, is a film starring Nicole Kidman as Grace a woman whose husband has gone to fight in the war. She is caring for her two children who both suffer from a severe form of 'photophobia'. With which when subjected to any stronger light than a gas lamp, they get covered in blisters and sores. But all is not what it seems in this ghostly tale, which devotes the whole film (bar the last few minutes) to just seven people. Firstly we have Grace herself, portrayed to perfection by Nicole Kidman. She is with her two children a girl named Ann (played by Alakina Mann) and her brother Nicholas (played by James Bentley). Three house workers soon join them: whom Grace readily employs. Advantages: Very well set out story, full of twists and turns

...Believe it or not I read this one from start to finish on a beach in Jamaica and I got so immersed in it that I practically lost 2 days of my holiday, I could just not put it down. It does start off sort of weird but you soon forget about that as you end up practically getting inside the main characters head and experiencing the events from his perspective. I wont spoil it for you because to give you anything other than the vaguest outline of the story would really give the game away but I will tell you that the book was inspired by an elderly friend of James Herbert who used to work at a hospital in London. She apparently entered an unmarked ward and was confronted with numerous cots containing very badly deformed babies but nobody could give her any explanation as to who they were or what happened with them.
