...First the Sega Saturn and now the Sega Dreamcast as Sega announced a couple of months a go to stop producing games for the Sega Dreamcast. This seems similar to what happened to the Sega Saturn as it just died out due to compettion from other consoles. The sad thing was that the Sega Dreamcast had the capabillity to produce good graphics and play good games but the games were never there and the choice of good games was certainly very limited. I think people who rushed out and bought the console when it first came out must be disapointed now after spending so much on a console the games are not there to be used. Some may say that the Sega Dreamcast had internet and that no other console did but again it wasn't that good and with it being so much cheaper and easier ways to use it. Advantages: Great Console, Play Online, Excellent Games
Disadvantages: Sega's unclear future.

.... The Dreamcast is still the best console on the market at the moment, with the PS2 producing such poor games at the moment the Dreamcast was the best selling console in the run-up to Christmas. Also no other games machine in the UK can boast 'working' online gaming capabilities at this time. So is this the end for Sega? I hope not. There are already rumors of a Nintendo & Sega partnership although these rumors have been denied. If you want some good cheap gaming I reccomend you buy one now whilest you still can... forget about the PS2 until later this year when the games get better and the new Consoles are released. Better news from Sega today (26/01/01) over 100 completely new games have been announced for the Dreamcast console. Most of which are going to be for Dreamcast only. Also it would appear that Sega Japan are the ones pushing for Sega... Read review

Advantages: Dreamcast is fantastic, but Segas games are its major strengths. The games make the console

...love to see Sonic and other Sega titles on the Gamecube or PS2 or X-Box. Surely if Sega decide to develop for these machines then they can make more money than by simply producing exclusively for one console. Lets not forget Sega have failed with a lot of consoles, add-ons etc. Mega Cd, 32X, Saturn and now Dreamcast (although the Dreamcast failed due to mistakes in the past). Their gaming history fares a lot better though. The fact that Sega have signed up to produce games for Sony is great news. This will mean Sega brilliance on a more mainstream format and of course Arcade conversions as well. It means that Sega aren't finished after all and I'm sure you will all agree that is good news for everyone.... Read review

...I have recently just got a dreamcast and am wondering whether or not it was worth paying £150. When I was looking at it i thought great I can go on the internet, play games with people from all over the world. This was true but it cost money, to make good use of the internet you have to buy a keyboard for the dreamcast, another £15 - £20, you then have th cost of the phone call. In my mind the dreamcast is still only a console to play games on and the other 'gadgets' are just to get you to buy it.... Read review

Advantages: Lowest price for the Next Generation consoles
Disadvantages: May not be able to compete with the PS2

Not to mention it also had a low price tag of $200.00 dollars. Which has recently been dropped to $150.00 dollars. ...dreamcast is an ace console with it's 128 bit and able to get on the internet.i like the console because it has very good graphics and it is easy to get on the internet and plus sega has made other terrific consoles such as megadrive and sega saturn. I have played on quite a few games on this console even that i do not have one and the games are brill such as sonic adventure, vigilante 8 2nd offence,house of the dead and many more it is good because of the graphics and internet access. there is nothing really bad about it. i think any computer console person would love this and be on it for a while.... ...After the success of the Mega Drive and the mega failure of the Saturn proved to give Sega an awkward situation. They rushed to gether a new console as a last gasp attempt to keep the company in profit. This console turned out to be the Dreamcast. I have mixed feelings about the Dreamcast. It has a lot of power and can produce great graphics but until recently the games have been poor. The Dreamcast also allows you to connect to the internet and play games online. This service has also not been used to the full as games like Chu Chu Rocket are one of the only games to use the service, except Quake III which runs pretty fast over the internet but will soon get lag when more and more people start to play. Top quality games have only just started coming out for the Dreamcast such as Hlaf Life, Quake III, MSR and other games coming soon... Read review

It has loads of games Which have the best graphics eva its 1 of the most powerfuliest computers all around it compares greatly against the playstation,n64 and others it haz 128 ram its very fast and has loads of games such as Dead or alive 2 Zombie Revenge house of the dead 2 and loads mmore of arcade games on it that are made by sega it is 1 of the best consles that i have eva played i will recommend it 2 u get it. a hackin group called utophia hacked in 2 it and it has copyright games! if u like arcades get the dreamcst its just the same as the real thing so i would get it!...
