Private Outlet - my worst shopping experience in a long time

...Private Outlet - what is it? Private Outlet is an online members only shopping site that has short (e.g. 5 day) sales for premium brand fashion at discount prices. Once you are signed up, you receive emails informing you when the sales are on for specific brands. My Experience There are a few of these sites that have started up lately and I thought that it was quite a good concept. The brands that they sell appeal to me as I normally couldn't afford to buy them at full price. I had used a similar site before and all was fine so I thought that I would try Private Outlet. I purchased three items from a menswear brand. The first warning sign was that when I made my purchase, the delivery timescale given was around one month. I lived about 1 hours drive from here when it was first build (I think it was the 1980's) and I used to love our one or two trips out there a year. It was fab, and so American which was what I was in to at that time. ROYAL QUAYS SHOPPING OUTLET

Advantages: Prices - lots of bargains to be had.
Disadvantages: Few empty shops

...Whilst I was staying on the outskirts of Newcastle I visited the Royal Quays Shopping Outlet several times and always managed to get a bargain or two. The outlet is in a nice area, easy to get to, well signposted, and good car parks. There is a very friendly tourist information office. I was however quite disappointed with the amount of shops unoccupied at that time (February 2002)and was quite glad I hadn't travelled too far. There are a couple of sets of toilets and three places to eat. The whole place was quite quiet during the week and there were no problems queuing for anything. The two larger shops there were Marks & Spencer and Nike. The Black & Decker shop had stuff at well below normal prices and if your 'join their club' you can get an extra 10% saving. ...I have been dragging my husband around Cheshire Oaks for the past 7 years, and in this time I have seen it grow bigger and bigger. It is just on the outskirts of chester off junction 10 of the M53, and is open from 10 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. on Sundays. There are a huge amounts of designer stores not only for clothes but also for crockery, toys etc. My favourite shops where you can always pick up bargains at around 50% discount are shops such as: Elle Next to nothing M&S Gap & La Senza At the outlet village there are over 100 stores, so you will find something for everyone. It is an ideal place to go before christmas as you can pick up a nice outfit for parties and get a range of presents, some of the bargains on thing such as last seasons dolls are extrodinary. ...If you are a bargain hunter like me, you will love Cheshire Oaks. Just get in your car, get on the M53, get off at Junction 10 and whay hey, Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt. There it is, Cheshire Oaks. Standing proud and bursting with over 130 shops, it is one of the biggest shopping outlets around. Of course, you don't have to go by car, you can get on the train to Ellsmere Port or Chester Rail Stations then just get the bus into the outlet. ...Advantages: Loads of stuff available, good prices Disadvantages: can get busy at christmas time so much so people abandon their shopping I am a huge Asda fan, it's where I do most of my shopping and I know where everything is which makes it easier when dragging 3 kiddies along with you! In my local Asda we have a photo centre, cafe, George, electricals, homewear, toys, bakery, pizzaria, rottisary (chicken place lol), fresh meats counter and all the usual foody aisles plus we have a petrol station, cash machines and bus stop. It's the largest shopping store we have although we do have a Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Co-Op, Farm Foods and Iceland. I have never had a bad experience with Asda and the stock is usually replenished quite quickly! They have such a huge range that I know I can do my weekly shop and more there. Everything...
