Private Outlet - my worst shopping experience in a long time

...Private Outlet - what is it? Private Outlet is an online members only shopping site that has short (e.g. 5 day) sales for premium brand fashion at discount prices. Once you are signed up, you receive emails informing you when the sales are on for specific brands. My Experience There are a few of these sites that have started up lately and I thought that it was quite a good concept. The brands that they sell appeal to me as I normally couldn't afford to buy them at full price. I had used a similar site before and all was fine so I thought that I would try Private Outlet. I purchased three items from a menswear brand. The first warning sign was that when I made my purchase, the delivery timescale given was around one month. ROYAL QUAYS SHOPPING OUTLET

Advantages: Prices - lots of bargains to be had.
Disadvantages: Few empty shops

...Whilst I was staying on the outskirts of Newcastle I visited the Royal Quays Shopping Outlet several times and always managed to get a bargain or two. The outlet is in a nice area, easy to get to, well signposted, and good car parks. There is a very friendly tourist information office. I was however quite disappointed with the amount of shops unoccupied at that time (February 2002)and was quite glad I hadn't travelled too far. There are a couple of sets of toilets and three places to eat. The whole place was quite quiet during the week and there were no problems queuing for anything. The two larger shops there were Marks & Spencer and Nike. The Black & Decker shop had stuff at well below normal prices and if your 'join their club' you can get an extra 10% saving. The Remington shop sounds as though it should be...

You need to travel on the M4 motorway, and come off at junction 16, and the rest is signposted from there, and it's very easy to find and not too far off the motorway, i'd say about 15 or 20 minutes. On arriving here you will be greeted my a large open car park that is directly opposite the entrance the the outlet. It is a pay and display, but you do get the price of your parking back in most cases, if you spend a minimal amount, then when you return to your car, you can go to an on-site cabin show a couple of your receipts and they will stamp your ticket and you exit for free. Advantages: Great range of products, excellent delivery service, fantastic sales period

...Personal opinion: I love my fashion, and being a student I hardly have any free time to do shopping, as I go out, work, club, do sports etc. So to have such a quality online fashion outlet available after hours for you, the customer, to order items at whatever time is great! But this site is slightly bit more interesting... Fashion: There are a wide range of clothes and shoes available from dresses to skirts for women and from cardigans to jeans for men. There are asos branded clothing which are usually the cheapest items and are of good quality as I have bought a few shirts and hats from them. They have a great range of premium branded clothing such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Diesel and Ted Baker to name a few. Their shoes collection is nice but not as broad as some other shopping websites which specifically sell shoes...

...bad as it first seemed. In today's society, you are frowned upon if you do not have some form of plastic, but now there is a class system of cards!! Solo is lower class and is just above the Electron card. Solo is the sister card of Switch, and it has a purple symbol with an 'S' in it. Like Switch, it can be used as a cashcard, and also a debit card at selected outlets. With Solo, every transaction is authorised by Solo, so there is no way you can spend money that you do not have, which is fine by me. The authorisation process at the checkout is no different from when you use a standard credit card, as it is all done remotely through the computers. The payment is then debited from your account within 2 days, although the amount debited will immediately be unavailable to you. The only problem with Solo, is that is not accepted...
