...Ok, here's a quick run down of my thoughts on the 360, probably throw in a few comparisons with the PS3, won't bother too much with the Wii since it's not really what I would class as a serious games machine, good fun in short spells or with "non-gamers" but that's about it. Had the 360 for a couple of years now, I was seduced by Halo 3 having been addicted to the first 2 games on the original, I'm a little bit of a FPS nut so I'm well covered with the 360 as that seems to be the systems main genre as it was with the original. It's probably been the most fun system I've owned since the dreamcast (class machine, sorely missed) or the mega drive (Genisis for anyone on the wrong side of the Atlantic). ...We recently purchased the XBox 360 as we were getting really bored of the PS2 and was looking for a console with better graphics and better choice of games. I think the XBox 360 is much better than the PS3 and it can certianly can do alot more.. There are two versions of the 360 on sale 1 - Premium pack which works out to be the best value. Includes the XBox 360 console which includes dvs, HD AV cable, wireless controller, 20gb hard drive, media remote and instruction manual. 2 - Core pack. This consists of an xbox 360 with dvd, wired controller, basic AV lead to plug into your tv and a large power pack and instruction manual. Advantages: Great graphics and Gameplay

...Being a playstation boy I've never bothered with the Xbox, however through boredom and impulse I found myself buying an Xbox 360 one day. To coin a Carlsberg phrase, the 360 is probably the best console around. The graphics are second to none and until sony can get to grip with what they really want out of the PS3 the 360 will remain streets ahead. It is available from around £180 upwards depending on system and game bundles you purchase with it with again leaves it extremely better priced than the PS3. The controller whilst more bulky than sony controllers fits nicely in the hand and the rechargeable battery pack is a must get addition. I would say however that although there is a great variety of games available for the Xbox 360 it is undoubtedly at its greatest when playing shoot 'em up's, games such as Halo 3 and Gears...

...The microsoft xbox 360 is in my opinion the best games console out there, ultimately enhanced by the superb online gameplay capabilities and magnificient graphics which it has. It is incredibly easy to use (even my dad can use it) and it is easy to transfer date from a computer to it also. There is a huge variety of games that can be played on it and the games that can only be played on the xbox 360 (gears of war, halo 3) are better than the games that can only be played on Sony Playstation 3 (Little Big Planet). Even though the online gameplay costs, (£5 a month if paying monthly) it makes up for it with seriously awesome gameplay compared to PS3 live which is free however not as good. Not only does the xbox 360 deal with just the gaming side, but along with the console you can store a large amount of music and photos on the 360 which you can customise your different play lists. ...The Xbox 360 is Microsofts second attempt at a Games Console and it is their second success. First and foremost the 360 looks fantastic! it is sleek, sexy and can fit into small spaces. However this does come at a price as the power supply is now external and is a big, ugly BRICK! Yes, a BRICK. Huge and ugly but worth it to power such a beautiful piece of equipment which is a breath of fresh air from its older more ugly sister. I will not bore you with all the technical information but I will say that it has an extremly powerful Graphics Chip and very powerful hardware ensuring that it pumps out the highest definition graphics that your TV can offer. Yes, thats right, ALL xbox 360 games are recorded in High-Definition and are designed for the HDTV. However if like me you dont have an HDTV the games still look absolutly fantastic...

...of the wireless remotes, the controllers drain the life out of batteries and replacing them frequently is not a cheap task and so purchasing a rechargeable battery pack is advisable for each controller but retailing at around £30 each this is possibly the lesser of 2 evils. Despite these 2 gripes the Xbox 360 is a thoroughly enjoyable console to own and play on and the new layout makes the system easy to use for young, inexperienced gamers right up to hardened console enthusiasts, i highly reccomend purchasing the Xbox 360 but be prepared to spend slightly more after your initial purchase to really have the ultimate console package....
