Advantages: See lots of different places without packing and unpacking
Disadvantages: Too much food if you have no willpower.

...P & O have had such bad press lately I thought I would write down my experiences with this company since 1980. The first cruise with P.& O. was on the Canberra in 1980, visiting several countries in the Mediterranean. We went with a couple of friends and had a wonderful time, feeling and being treated like royalty. It took us two years to save for this trip and it was worth every penny. The excitement of leaving Southampton with "You are Sailing" played by a live military band, drinking champagne and throwing streamers over the side, will always stay in my memory, as will as getting a twenty-one gun salute as we arrived at Gilbraltar. p and o ferry

Advantages: good value for money
Disadvantages: woken early food expensive

...Wow i still cannot get over how fantastic this ferry is! Last week me and 9 friends caught this ferry from Hull to Rotterdam, the cost of this trip was £55 pound each or 2 for £69 at the money which is a special offer only available to travel on Thursday to Saturday. When arriving at Hull port we were immediately greated by some P&O staff that were very friendly and helpful, we was able to check in after queueing for around 5 minutes. Because we were in a group of ten we had to book in an 8 and a 2 due to P&O changing the booking numbers apparently after getting large groups of people causing trouble, and this was there way of preventing this. At the enterance to the ship the crew were there to greet us and help us in the direction of our rooms. We choose to take the lift which brought us into the centre of a maze of cabins. P & O Cruises, The Arcadia Caribbean Cruise

Advantages: Service with a smile, friendly and polite. P & O ticks all the right boxes
Disadvantages: Avoid long periods at sea

...nights here during the two weeks on board. Obviously as with all clubs, the atmosphere here depends very much on the passengers cruising. The music is very mixed, just ask the D.J for what you like. The ship itself has been designed as a port ship and therefore for the best experience I would recommend avoiding cruises with long periods at sea. During the first few days crossing the Atlantic space was at a premium and not helped by the bad weather. If you do join the ship for a transatlantic holiday please be prepared for queues for informal eating and a lack of seating in these areas. There is no problem at all when the ship docks and therefore one of the port cruises would be a more enjoyable holiday. P & O Ferries Hull - Zeebrugge

Advantages: Great, Friendly, Relaxing, Casino, Bars, Cabins, Restaurants, Cinema, & more.
Disadvantages: None unless you are sea-sick or rough seas !

...I would like to tell you about one of the many sea trips i have experienced going from Hull to Zeebrugge and return trip with P & O Ferries. I cannot rate them high enough. For anybody looking for a short break, maybe to shop in the city of Brugges or to travel on into France to look for some cheap beers and wines, this is the trip for you. That is providing you are not of the travel sickness kind. We had done the Dover to Calais route 3 times and found that for the price we was paying (well we just turned up at Dover at midnight and asked for a 24 hour shopper trip, paid on credit card as they would not accept cash the cost was anything from £25 to £100). We got fed up of that method as it meant we only got 90 minutes break from travelling. I live a good 6 hours drive from Dover. I decided one day to have a look at P&O web site...

P&O North Sea

Advantages: Great fun and loads to do
Disadvantages: weather out at sea

...Pride of Hull and Pride of Rotterdam. During 2004 I have had the pleasure of 3 minicriuses with P&O from the port of Hull. The first 2 times we sailed on the Pride of Rotterdam and the third time we sailed on the Pride of Hull. P&O are the first to point out that when these ships were launched they claimed the title of the biggest ever car ferries and still keep to this day. Whilst P&O enjoy this I would not be surprised if Irish Ferries were a little annoyed as their Ulysess was the largest for around 6 months. The Pride of Rotterdam was the first to be built at a cost of 90 million pounds, it took less than 14 months to build her, she was built at Fincantieris Marghero yard in Venice and weighs in at 59,925 Gross tons and has a length of 215.1m. P + O Cruises on the Ocean Village

Advantages: Good Food, lots of nice places to visit
Disadvantages: Plenty of them, just take a look at this review....

...useful. The ship is very busy, and at times it felt like "Butlins" on water, you couldn?t rest very much onboard during the day for all the noise around you from the children and entertainment. I spoke to several people onboard during the week, they said they had paid half of what I paid by booking last minute and they had FREE upgrades to cabins with a balcony. I was very disappointed as we had paid alot of money and it was a special occasion, Our honeymoon was not acknowledged by the cruise company or any staff at all, we were offered an upgrade prior to the cruise but would of had to pay several hundred pounds for the privilege. My fantastic ocean experience with P & O Cruises - Wow!

Advantages: Fabulous dining
Disadvantages: if you get a bit see sick

...I have been lucky enough to travel on P & O 's faboulous cruise liners on two seperate occasions. The first time we travelled to Zebrugge and the second Zebrugge, Rotterdam and Le Havre. We were greeted by the whole crew and captain once we boared the ship (We have been on both the Artemis, which is mainly for adults and the Aurora). We were given a complementery buffet meal when we arrived whilst we waited for our twin cabin to be ready. It was lovely attending the champagne reception when the ship set sail and a brass band played music to see us off and watching the waves catch the sides of the grand ship. Once we got to the room it was light and airy and very spacious, the room was extremely tidy and clean and we had no complaints at all with the space we were in. Brugge Minicruise with P and O

Advantages: Not at all stressful
Disadvantages: May not be as stressless if a rough crossing

...We have just returned from a minicruise with P&O to Zeebrugge from Hull on th ePride of Brugge, an overall we were very happy with the trip. Checking In and Parking. Parking is free at the terminal in Hull and there appeared to be plenty of spaces, checking in was easy and the staff were friendly. The waiting lounge is looking a bit tired but there was a drinks and snacks area, along with kiddies play area. The Ship and Cabin. Again the ships crew were very friendly and helpful, and there were plenty of staff around to direct you to your cabin. We had booked a premier outside 2 berth cabin, which consisted of the 2 bunks, a chair, desk and mirror, the ensuite shower/toilet was a good size and the cabin in general was very clean. P&O Ferries (Tazzywazzy's voyage épique partie 1)

Advantages: Cheap and Cheerful - does the job!
Disadvantages: Not much to do on the boat, not good if you get motion sick!

Plan B worked like this, leave Wednesday afternoon and return Sunday evening, but it was Tuesday, and summer hols are starting, I started to worry that this may be easier said than done.... We didn't do much shopping around, as we were really pushed for time, we checked the tunnel prices and ferry prices. Using tint-er-net we found that we could get la voiture (that's some French speak for ya) on a return ferry crossing on P&O ferries from Dover to Calais for £120 (inc. £10 fuel surcharge) or go on the tunnel for £140, we decided as this was so last minute we would go for the cheaper option and boyfie went ahead and booked it. Advantages: A fantastic sailing experience, from beginning to end

...Having just returned today from a very pleasurable break away courtesy of P & O North Sea Ferries, I felt that I would like to share my experiences with you all so that you can judge for yourselves whether or not a minicruise is for you. To set the scene, I had booked myself and my fiancee onto the Hull to Rotterdam Return Motorist MiniCruise sailing at 21:00, driving my little Citroen Saxo over to Europe. I had also booked cabin accommodation, with a Standard 2-Berth Bed Outside Cabin on the outward journey, and a Standard 2-Berth Bunk Inside Cabin on the return.
