It also features fast downloading of camera memory to a PC and HP's PhotoREt III Precision technology to bring print quality up to the standards of traditional photographs. This is another brilliant feature and the quality is amazing. Witha resolution of 2400 x 1200dpi, the printer pronts 11 pages per minute mono and 8.5 pages per minute in colour. It features a low ink indicator, which alerts you when the ink is running low. You can either buy a USB or parralell conector. ...I have been shopping around to find a good quality photo printer at a reasonable price, and the Hp p1000 is superb for just £200. It prints great quality scanned pictures at 2400x1200 dpi (dots per inch), and it is very user friendly. This inkjet printer comes with everything appart from the printer cable, but that can be bought almost anywhere for £10. The software which comes with it is very easy to use and install, and the printer comes with a paralel port lead, so it can be easily connected to your pc (and for those mac users, a USB lead can be picked up easily. The instructions for connecting the printer to your pc are very easy to follow, and doesnt take much time at all. The printer is very fast when printing basic word documents (approx 8 sheets a min), and if you are printing on photo paper, it will take a bit longer... Read review

...I must confess I have been one of the most fortunate few who has had the blu ray experience. It happened one crazy evening at a friends house.... a few beers and a couple of slices of 4 seasons pizza, lights dimmed and there she was all dressed to kill..... the Samsung BD-P 1000. I guess like many I had heard of blu ray but had never experienced it. It was all unexpected the effects the slick, stylish ,shiny, manageable, sexy, piece of technology was astonishing, maybe I was in the mood for a lift, something exciting. I had to have this DVD blu ray technology at my beck and call in my living room. At my own pace. Price.. Well I must say it did seem a good offer, for such a piece of stylish technology. Will it catch on.........mmmmmmm.....yes I do think it will. I no doubt many will have been seduced and would want a bit for themselves... Read review

Advantages: Excellent connectivity to digital cameras, very good print quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: erm none, not much point getting if you don't have or plan to have a digital camera

...self something I was slightly shocked at when it first did it (pop a piece of paper in and it prints and scans to line the cartridges up correctly). You can connect it via the parallel port but I’d recommend connecting it via USB, as you will get the added advantage of faster saving from memory cards/infer-red to your computer. Which neatly brings me on to the reason to buy this printer over one of the other cheaper but still as good quality printers from HP. The P1000 supports 4 yes 4 different types of media storage from which it can print directly (you don’t even need a computer to do this!!). They are Compact Flash Cards, Smart Media Cards, Wireless fast Infrared and HP JetSend II Using without a computer – This is the only printer I’ve come across that you don’t actually need a computer to use... As before Hewlett Packard have produced a printer of excellent quality for both text and photographs.The printer can be used as a standalone printer not requiring a PC to operate it, two slots on the side of the printer allow both compact flash and smartmedia cards to be inserted straight from the digital cameras.An easy to view and use LCD panel allows the user to select the size of print required then at the touch of one button your prints appear beautifully printed and dry on photopaper. The printer also has an infrared port to allow connection to PDA's (Palm etc) , Laptops and certain mobile phones (Nokia 7110 works).The printer however does not seem to connect with Psion Series 5mx devices using IR (at least... ...on the computer. Another function that is unique in this class of price is Infrared which helps you to print pictures directly from your mobile phone. Just amazing! The integrated scanner does good quality pictures being useful when you less expect this. I highly recommend you to buy a multifunction printer instead of a simple one as the price difference is really small for it's functionality. In my case printing so many pages a month supposes that I would have to change the ink cartridge every single month. This would cost me a fortune :) Instead, I am recharging them using ink and a syringe. Compared to my old Canon iP 1000 the process is more complicated and I get my hand dirty each time. As a conclusion I would like to underline that this printer is perfect if you intend to print at least 20-30 photos a month. Otherwise, the price difference... Read review
