...I wanted to build a new computer for myself but I also wanted a FAST one, and I can?t have a fast computer without a good motherboard. The ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe is a computer motherboard from the computer hardware company, Asustek (aka Asus).

JARGON BUSTER: A motherboard (aka: mainboard in the U.S) is a big circuit board found inside the computer. You have one inside the computer you?re using right now (assuming you?re using a computer to access the Internet). It?s no longer uncommon for people to buy motherboards on their own to build their own computers.

WHY THE P4C800-E Deluxe?
Reason I bought the P4C800-E Deluxe was because I heard that it is/was used by Alienware, a company that specializes in building high-end computer systems, in machines built for powerful computer games...

A Reliable and Good Performance Motherboard

I have recently configured a New Desktop having an ASUS N73-AM motherboard installed on it. I have checked the PC for different environment like Gaming, Programming, General surfing etc. I find it a Good Performer and graphics is also ok.
The main features of this motherboard are:

A great ASUS motherboard
Advantages: Lots of ports/features, price.
Disadvantages: Slow to pass bois post
...I brought this from ebuyer a few months back, for my new system build. I wanted a motherboard which had plenty of features/ports etc, without braking the bank, and this does just that. With 4 USB port, 7.1 surround sound audio card, 4 rear USB ports + 2 headers, Printer Port, and even 2 PCI-E 16X for SLi and 2 PCI-E and 2 PCI card slots, which is a good use of the slots available, with the PCI-E sure to be used more in the future, with it's smaller and faster slot.
So, after unpacking, I found there to be a lot of accessories with this board, keeping up to ASUS's standards. I applied the headers to the case and installed the motherboard easy enough, connected everything up etc. and it was up and running. After setting itself up, I was able to install the operating system. The board had no problem installing the Sata hard drive and disc...

Cheap and Stabil Motherboard
Advantages: Build in Intel 945 Chipset, and cheap.
Disadvantages: -
...ASUS P5GCMX very compatible with the Intel Core2Duo Processor 2.0Ghz. I ever tried with the following specifications:
- Kingston 1Gb RAM
- Seagate 160GB SATAII HDD
- VGA nVidia GeForce 8500GT 512MB 128bit
The remarkable speed that I get. Very satisfied with the speed and is very stable. These products are relatively cheap. With the motherboard has a 1333FSB make this work more quickly. the motherboard is also equipped with sound quality that hit, make you are on a home theater room.
ASUS motherboard has long been known by many people about the endurance. They have a very good refrigerator.
Lack of on the motherboard is the only have 1 IDE slot. Video RAM, which can only be increased up to 256MB.
However, as I said. This motherboard is suitable for average user. I recommend this motherboard....

My Dream Machine Motherboard
Advantages: Supports.... Everything!
Disadvantages: As with all boards, difficult to set up!
...Welcome to the fourth installment of my computer component reviews!
My motherboard is the 865PE Neo2 - P. I'm assuming that this is the same, it certainly looks the same.
MSI is a highly respected motherboard manufactorer and have incorporated the intel 865PE chipset into this fantastic motherboard.
Thanks to Rabid's suggestion, I went to the MSI section of overclockers. There I found the one he suggested, below it was this baby. For just £10 more I could have dual DDR RAM, as well as a few other minor enhancements.
This board has all the standard features, like AGP 8x, ATA 133 support and 5 PCI ports. It's also got 4 ram slots (with dual DDR ram support and supporting up to 500Mhz RAM on overclock speeds). It supports all pentium 4 chips including the new Extreme and Prescott processors. For those who don't understand that...

An Excellent Motherboard
Advantages: i820 Chipset that is stable, can force 133Mz FSB
Disadvantages: None that I can think of !
...Lots has been said about the Intel i820 chipset not working well on SDRam based motherboards but I personally have had absolutely no problems since I bought my PIIISCD back in April.
I initially chose the PIIISCD as I was looking for an i820 based board that allowed both 100 & 133 Mhz FSB and was not disappointed when my board arrived from Dabs.
Setup was extremely easy and quick and within no time my PIII 550E based machine was up & running. Supermicro are not known for their ability to overclock well but as things had been so simple I thought 'what the hell - I'll force the 133FSB & see what happens'. To my amazement the PC booted straight up with the processor running at 733Mhz & after a bit of tweaking (adding an extra fan to keep the temp below 40 degrees) my PC really was fireing on all cylinders.
I would definitely...

This is a budget motherboard.
Advantages: Loads of features for the price
Disadvantages: A poor performer
...notes:
It has 1x AGP slot. This is suitable for the casual gamer (like me) but PCI-E is newer and better than AGP. The more expensive motherboards tend to have PCI-E slots now, sometimes in addition to AGP slots.
It has Onboard sound.
It has SATA connectors (instead of the old IDE cables/connectors for hard drives, although SATA II is faster)
Claims to take up to 4GB of DDR memory.
Accepts 775-pin CPU's. Compatible with P4 up to 3.8Ghz, and Celeron up to 3.33Ghz.
- Installation -
The motherboard comes with all you need (including IDE hard drive cable, a SATA data and SATA power cable, and floppy drive cable). It also comes with a backing plate to fit on to the back of your case.
Installation was fairly easy, *except* for one small but frustrating problem I had. Motherboards have a socket/panel where you have to plug in...

The GIGA motherboard
Advantages: lots of features
Disadvantages: cluttered design
...The Gigabyte GA-8ANXP-D is the best motherboard out there in the market today, it also has a lot of package including DPS, and a Wireless LAN card. I buy this mobo for my new Prescott 2.8 GHZ hoping that this will be the most suitable partner for my processor. The motherboard includes 4 Serial ATA cables for use with either the native ICH6 supported connections, or those provided by the additional Silicon Image SATA RAID controller.
The package also includes a single IDE cable, single floppy cable with a color gray, There are 9 USB 2.0 ports which supports IEE1394 devices. You will never run out of USB ports with this motherboard. The installation guide is quick and easy to follow especially for those novice users including me. This motherboard really has a product manual and documentation. The only bad thing that I can say about...

Great motherboard for a midrange system
Advantages: Cheap but not compromsing, basic yet brilliant
Disadvantages: Asrock's website leaves a lot to be desired
...card.
What's even more interesting is there is a slot on the motherboard entitled "Future CPU port", now apparently you can buy an add on which plugs into this, allowing you to upgrade to a Socket AM2 processor and DDR2 RAM. How well this works, I'm not sure, but it's nice to see Asrock are attempting to bridge the gap between upgrading motherboards.
The BIOS is a pretty standard affair, I did notice that it had set my RAM speed wrong, but it was simple to change and there are enough features to keep the average tweaker happy. Although I'm not sure overclocking ability, as this is an avenue of computing I don't delve in.
Installation of drivers was simple (just pop the disc in and away you go) but if you want to upgrade them to the latest versions, the asrock website isn't the most helpful in the world.
All in all, I believe...
