...This is pac man for the next generation of gamers. Its all about staying alive for the time limit. Each time you eat the pellets on one half of the screen a fruit appears, if you can keep eating the ghosts in quick sucession you can carry on getting 3200 points which is the maximum points per ghost. There are 8 levels altogether. Some are five minutes and some are ten minutes long. If you can stay alive till the end you will gain an achivement. This game comes free with the xbox live arcade compilation, and it is pac man, just pac man on speed. The joy pad can be quite tricky for turning corners though so I'd personally recomend using the big grey button underneath. I have also found that if I stick to eating the pellets on one side my score goes up a lot quicker. The key is the highest fruit you can get and is worth 7650 points...

Portable Pills And Thrills To Pac Away

Advantages: Accurate version of Pac Man
Disadvantages: Appears on other Nintendo handheld titles

...Never mind joining the dots - eat them! I wasn't brought up on Pac-Man, but there's something about taking copious amounts of pills and coping with ghosts that appeals! And, if ever you feel the need to eat the ghosts then take a power-pill beforehand - that'll have them turning away in blue but note this is for a temporary period. Also, don't forget fruits bear vitamins, or rather points, as well! As for the four ghosts, not only do they have nicknames, they are not without personalities despite the seemingly random patterns, with the red, named "Blinky" likely to give chase. Eating all the pills sees you in the next stage, and as you progress, the pace of the chase picks up. It's not as easy as it looks, and I'll admit that I am awful at this game. I thought this be a strange selection for the NES Classic Series, as it suggests...

Pac-Man! Where did it go wrong?

Advantages: Simple enough to play, quite a big adventure.
Disadvantages: Controls and graphics are muddled and fiddly.

This of course means that he will be reincarnated as many times as possible in about a million games that slowly become more and more disastrous and destroy the essence of what made him great in the first place. Pac-Man World 3 is the little round yellow guy's third venture into the increasingly over saturated 3D platforming market. The levels involve collecting items, pushing switches to raise platforms, pushing more switches to open doors, pushing switches to reveal more switches. I found the experience pretty soul destroying. The graphics are very glitchy and buggy. Also there are barely any colours, usually only purple and grey with a big fat yellow dot running around them, so the whole journey through the game seems to merge into one unsatisfyingly long bore...

Flymo Pac A Shred

Advantages: Robust. Shreds large diameter branches.
Disadvantages: Less good with leaves and small items.

...I brought the Flymo Pac A Shred in December 2007 and it has had 1 year of hard use in my half acre overgrown garden. It has munched through everything we have tried it with from Laurel to Hazel to Bramble, rose. and lylandai. It is amazing how much it will pull through its jaws and the cutting capacity is as advertised. Any branch that fits into the jaws will be shredded. It is less happy with green leaves or old wood and prefers green woody material, but it works well on a comination of leaves and stems or branches. It will pull through surprisingly twisted branches too, but may need a helping hand to line them up into the jaws. It produces a good mulch which can be used around the garden or composted. It does require periodic adjustment of the blade but this has been frequent and heavy usage. It is easy to manoevre around...

...I have been a fan of the Pac-man series for as long as I can remember, so it goes without saying that I had to purchase the latest instalment of the yellow man. Having already played Pac-Man World I had a fair idea of what to expect from this game. I was pleasantly surprised how much the game had advanced since the Playstation One original. It struck me that the developers had made a huge effort to make original and challenging levels that didn't all look the same. The plus sides to this games is that it is highly addictive, there are some many extra bonus items to collect within each level in order to complete the game 100%. Trying to collect all of these can be quite challenging which I think is half the fun of games of this type. There is also a nice feature of collecting tokens within the levels to unlock the arcade...

...and powerful way. I thought that they portrayed the suffering of an autistic savant person very well and did not make the character out to be stupid or less of a man than he was. I thought that Dustin Hoffman who played Raymond did an amazing job and I am so glad that he won an Oscar for his performance.
