...The Pace Twin was the first PVR on the UK market without a subscription. Reviewed with October 2004 software. It is a Freeview digital terrestrial box with two tuners and a 20GB hard disk. You can watch TV as normal with it, you can also record TV or Freeview radio, you can watch another channel while recording, or a previous recording, or even the recording you are currently recording. Due to this you can watch a commercial TV programme while it is recording and catch up by skipping the adverts. Or you can wact a whole evenings programmes on a half hour delay. There is a live TV pause which is great for watching BBCi (701 or 702) programmes - disabling the MHEG layer and the press red. The box is very well featured, and has plenty of connections. It also allows for up to two channels to be recorded on to an internal 40Gb hard disk drive. This provides about 20 hours of recording time. Recording is usually via the EPG (electronic programme guide) which is a list of channels and programmes which you navigate with cursor keys. ...This device is an excellent piece of kit, it is the first PVR on the UK market without a subscription. Reviewed with October 2003 software. It is a digital terrestrial device with two tuners and a 20GB hard disk. It is used for Freeview. It can be used as a normal Freeview box while recording another channel, it is possible to watch a recording while recording a new one, or to pause live TV. It is great with commercial channels as you can start watching 5 minutes after the programme has started - then skipping through the adverts. The box is very well featured, and has plenty of connections. It supports digital text - it is not quite as fast as the Pace DTVA but is much faster in use than a Sony IDTV and especially old Ondigital boxes. I have not yet filled up the timer list, I have repeats for weekday and weekly, timer...

Hotel La Pace - peace in an area famous for war

...beaches within an hour's drive and some very pretty/towns villages on the way. The hotel is near the main Rome-Naples highway (non-motorway). Overall, I would describe La Pace as adequate - certainly not the best hotel for the money, but nowhere near the worst!...

Maximo Park Quicken The Pace

Advantages: A number of strong songs, Charming band, A deeper look at human relationships
Disadvantages: A few weak links, A bit ordinary, Needs a bit more umph

With 11 tracks each delivering a steady pace Quicken The Heart is a good album, but it isn't outstanding. You might not have heard of Maximo Park, but if you have your memory might be triggered by the song "Apply Some Pressure". Maximo Park have a very relaxing sound similar to James the first Indie band I ever loved. Wraithlike The first song - At 2:30, this is the shortest song on the album, but it is the opening track. This song shows true Maximo style it is interesting and has a strong Indie style. Wraithlike begins with a fast strum and carries on with more strumming. Their voices are perfect for Indie type songs. The instrumental is repetitive. It is a bit like listening to organised chaos...

Keeping Fit at a Not So Leisurely Pace

Advantages: Facilities all over the city, no contract to tie you in, excellent service overall
Disadvantages: Occasional staff shortages, unruly kids

.... Opinion When I first signed up with Edinburgh Leisure I found myself on a steep learning curve. I am fully aware of the fact municipally run swimming pools in particular can attract unruly children and sometimes obnoxious youngsters. Sadly, the facilities in Edinburgh are no exception. As a result I tend to try to visit early in the morning for a swim to avoid the youngsters who beg for inflatables or balls on offer to use in the pool and then go and hog most of the pool with them. Most pools do have lanes cordoned off for those who like to do lane swimming but as someone who only does the breast stroke and is pretty slow, I struggle in these lanes and need somewhere I can go at a slightly more sedate pace without running the risk of getting a ball in my face or having a small child fall off a float as I swim past. ...The Pace56 Voice was my first ever modem and I hit lucky. Whether in it?s initial K56flex form or it?s current flashed to v.90 standard the modem has performed flawlessly at speeds I thought would be impossible on my rural phoneline. I only ever use it as a modem, but it will also deal with voice and fax calls. There is one stumbling block to buying one of these fine modems though, Pace went into receivership last year. If you get one second hand though, you can still find the last driver/firmware release on various driver sites on the net....

Fast Paced, Sexy,

...or rewinding a tape that was already in the machine and by the time I got things set up I usually missed the beginning of what I wanted to record. I usually couldn't be bothered with the hassle and only used VCR if I was going out or going on holiday. With the Pace Sky+ box it's so easy. If you notice something you really want to see you can record at the touch of a button. Press another button and you can view your other recordings which is called your planner. You are able to select previous recordings or delete as required. You can also transfer recording you would like to keep to a VCR or DVD recorder which could be good for those special programmes you want kept. Another great feature is the pause button where you can pause live television, eg should the phone ring or you want to make a cup of tea, and pick up where you left...
