...Sitting on a roof-top veranda and gazing out towards the reef where punishing rips and currents swirl, I thought how fortunate I had been to arrive in Samoa on a comfortable airliner instead of by the rickety boats made of palm trees used by the first Polynesian settlers to arrive here. Yet in many ways, the islands that make up Samoa (Independent Samoa) are little changed since those settlers arrived some 2000 years ago as part of a migration of humans across the Pacific from the Philippines and Papua New Guinea to Tahiti and Easter Island. Samoa is still largely covered by pristine, impenetrable rainforest and in the first place I stayed I was lucky enough to be high on a hilltop overlooking the forest on the island of Upolu, one of Samoa's two main islands. Not Quite The Island Paradise We Hoped For.

Advantages: Pristine beaches, clear seas, tropical fish.
Disadvantages: Mosquitos, humidity, some negative male attention, nothing to do per se.

Motorstorm : Pacific Rift

Advantages: Graphics, Longevity
Disadvantages: Too Easy, Slightly Repetitive

...The original Motorstorm is one of the best games I had played for the PS3, so I had no hesitation in buying Pacific Rift. But, I didn't immediately start playing it, I had it for around 3 months before I first played it and from then on I was hooked. The main change that has been made is the introduction of new types of tracks. Air, Fire, Water and Earth. The Air zone has lots of big jumps and is probably my afvourite. The Fire zone is surrounded in molten lava ad makes the boost heat up a lot quick, with the Water zone doing the opposite - cooling down your booster. And finally the Earth zone which has very few jumps. I didn't think these new "Zones" made much of a difference to the game. The other main change is that the game has moved away form every track being full of dull grey, brownish colours. As the front cover shows...

Nothing Pacific

Advantages: Cheaper than chips, easy to use and works well
Disadvantages: Not that reliable, not very attractive

...number of jug blenders, however there was a Tesco own brand for about £20, a Tesco value model for £9.78ish and then I saw the Pacific PB7001 for £9.28, I noticed on the price sign this item was 'discontinued'. At such a bargain price I would resist, when I went to Asda later the same week this same blender was selling off for £7.00 but what they hey. I went to Tesco at the weekend and this item is now selling off for £7.97. When I got the blender home I quickly unpacked it, there is nothing particularly interesting in the box. The blender is composed of a large jug with a capacity of nearly 2 litres, a lid with a feeding hole, a washable hole cover, a base unit with wired lead and fused plug and a special key which allows you to remove the blades. There is nothing to put together with this appliance simply fit the jug to the base unit...

Somewhere in the South Pacific is obviously essential, but where? Tahiti? Samoa? The Cook Islands? All of them, ideally, but alas there was no time for that. Our choice of Fiji was not quite made at random. Having claimed on the basis of no personal experience whatsoever in my F-review that ?Fiji is also among the world?s more agreeable places,? I think this game has but it has got some things that I preferred in motorstorm 1. In this review ill show everything i know and played of motorstorm PC. Story There is no story to this game, just a series of races and events. The only thing is that the amount of races, there must be about 150 races each 2 laps long which is long when your crashing and dodging vehicles. About Samoa ------------------- Well Samoa is situated a few hours away from Australia and the two islands which are part of Samoa are very small and can sometimes be difficult to find on a world atlas. The first island is named Upolu which has the capital city of Apia there. The other is named Savaii and although there are about 5 other islands which are not inhabited these are the two which are. Each island is basically coastal because there is ocean everywhere you go visible in Samoa which is a nice thought and can be a breathtaking experience. Nearby islands you can see sometimes in the open air are Fiji and Tonga. Overall it is a very small place to visit but has advantages. ...I have visited many of Manchester’s Chinese restaurants, and I can assure you that Pacific is certainly in the top two – and it’s a close run thing between the Yang Sing and The Pacific for the top position… I really couldn’t choose between them. Octopus Resort, Waya Island

Advantages: Cheap, great snorkelling and beaches, friendly people
Disadvantages: Long ride in a small boat

We were welcomed to the island with a song and a ceremony where you drink kava - best described as muddy water that makes your tongue and lips go numb! The boat ride to and from Waya island was interesting - over an hour, not exactly a large boat and it was choppy in places - but it is all part of the experience! Cost for the premium bure - $149 Fijian/night. They also have cheaper bures and dormitory accommodation. A package deal including transfers is usually the best value....
